We're about to go on the market and wanting more space we are currently in a 2 bed 1 reception 1 bathroom house and have 2 children and 2 dogs, how much space do you all have in similar situations and is it enough/more than enough obviously we would like another bedroom but is a 2nd reception room/conservatory/ utility room etc needed too really?

Downstairs - 1 bedroom, lounge, kitchen and lean to. (Lean to leaks so much its basically unusable. It houses my spare freezer and thats all)
Upstairs - 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

Me and 2 teens living here.

Me, DH, two DC, no pets
4 bed, 2 reception, 2 bathrooms plus WC, kitchen diner

Moving to
4 bed, 3 reception, 2 bathrooms plus WC, kitchen diner, utility

We’ve chosen space over other things in a house.

It kept telling me I had a bad connection and to try again later how do I get them consolidated?

Thatwentbadly · 03/11/2020 22:05

Downstairs - livingroom, playroom, kitchen with an adjoining dining area.
Upstairs - 3 bedrooms, bathroom and study - study was essential and there was always a good chance DH would need to work from home in the future.

House works well for us but ideally I would like a separate utility and a second bathroom for when the girls are older.

Two adults and two under 5s.

Me, dh, ds (19) and his gf (18) and a dog we have:

Downstairs- Lounge, kitchen/diner, utility room, DS bedroom and en-suite, WC
Upstairs-3 beds and a bathroom

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 03/11/2020 22:11

Current house
Downstairs- cloakroom, utility, kitchen, dining room, living room.
Upstairs- bathroom, 4 bedrooms.

House we're moving too...
Downstairs... Utility, kitchen, living room/dining room, conservatory.
Upstairs... 3 bathrooms and s bedroom

Could do with an extra bedroom, but downstairs rooms is about right.

Kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and garden.

Mine! All Mine!

elQuintoConyo · 03/11/2020 22:18

120m2 flat. We have:
Big lounge-diner
Small kitchen
Small bathroom
Two master bedrooms
Decent child-size room
Second decent child-sized room that is full of built-in cupboards, floor to ceiling IT'S FANTASTIC!
Access to the roof where we hang out washing and have a shed-like lockable room where we keep bikes, beach stuff, camping chairs etc.

No balcony, no terrace, no garden. Floor to ceiling windows in the living room with 180° sea views. I love my flat, however, I miss outdoor space.

DeeCeeCherry · 03/11/2020 22:18

Me & 2 DCs

Upstairs 2 bedrooms, bathroom, toilet
Downstairs 1 bedroom, living room, kitchen, toilet

zaffa · 03/11/2020 22:20

Downstairs bedroom, two reception rooms, kitchen diner and utility room. Upstairs three bedrooms. One bathroom and one cloakroom downstairs.

zaffa · 03/11/2020 22:21

Oh and me, DH and DD full time and DAS 50% of the time live here

GinAtMerlottes · 03/11/2020 22:23

Same family size, only one dog.

5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. One downstairs loo, one utility room, one front room, one play room and one kitchen/diner.

It feels the right size. Ridiculously, I feel I would now struggle without five bedrooms. It means we can have a dedicated guest room and office. But of course, smaller would be fine. It’s just what you get used to.

Upupupintheair · 03/11/2020 22:23

2 adults (myself and DH) plus two cats.

We have:
4 bedrooms (one we use as a study)
3 bathrooms (one ensuite, 1 family and 1 downstairs shower room)
Large open plan kitchen/diner/living
Separate snug
Utility room

Wouldn’t want anything smaller than this to be honest...

movingonup20 · 03/11/2020 22:26

If you can afford an additional reception room, it is useful as they get older, we extended before the teen years. But remember my large 3 reception, 5 bed house probably is worth less than many a pockey flat in London!
