Odd question about my kitchen. Pics included

I have a stunning new kitchen. I love it but it’s too much like a showroom. Other than leaving it untidy or grubby how can I make it less showroom like? You see what I mean about an odd question!

Really appreciate all those positive comments. I’m now seeing it as much less clinical. You’re all quite right. The dining part is more homely so that takes away the showroom appearance.
The walls you can see are painted in fake Farrow and Ball colours.....2 grey shades. The other walls in the room are white.
The fireplace is stone. I’m not at all sure if it’s the original Victorian or not.

I love how you describe your kitchen as stunning, op. No hiding lights behind bushels for you, eh?

peach1234 · 29/10/2020 14:04

Wow your home is beautiful! Love the pink radio!

Indecisiveragazza · 29/10/2020 14:20

Julia, indeed, I do find it stunning! Should I pretend otherwise?😂

I’m not praising my own work. I didn’t install it. I left that to the experts!
I clearly felt there was something missing too otherwise I wouldn’t have come on here for advice.

It's a really beautiful kitchen but I know what you mean about the showroom part. Personally, I would add a few plants, a hanging plant like a string of hearts would look amazing. All that natural light. I would probably add a rug to soften the room a little.

Ismellphantoms · 29/10/2020 14:39

Add some colour. It’s too bland. Do something with the windows. They are pretty, but give a cold look. Shutters?

Janegrey333 · 29/10/2020 14:47

@Indecisiveragazza

Thanks, all for your lovely comments and idea. Annasgirl.....of course you can keep the pics. And yes, we have blinds. It was designed by a designer in Glasgow. I can give details if you need them.
“It was designed by a designer in Glasgow. I can give details if you need them.”

That’s an odd thing to say. Are you the designer, by any chance? Hmm

JuliaJohnston · 29/10/2020 14:51

What exactly did they design?

Indecisiveragazza · 29/10/2020 14:57

Janegrey, why on earth is it odd to offer the details of the designer when I was clearly asked who designed the kitchen?
And em no.....I’m not the designer. I must confess, however, that I did tell the designer what were my musts and don’t needs. Maybe that makes me the assistant designer. She didn’t give me a discount for my input though! 😂
It’s not your taste, Jane, don’t waste any more of your time on it because I may upset you even further by posting more pics. 😁

Really? I’m somewhat surprised you don’t know. Surely, this sort of investigation is part of a “kitchen renovation”?

Janegrey333 · 29/10/2020 15:01

Methinks thou dost protest too much, @Indecisiveragazza...

Janegrey333 · 29/10/2020 15:02

The fact that it closely resembles a showroom is also most intriguing.Hmm

Janegrey333 · 29/10/2020 15:05

@Indecisiveragazza

Julia, that’s a secret!
Of course it is.
pinkearedcow · 29/10/2020 15:05

It's lovely. OP where did you get the table please, if you don't mind sharing.

Indecisiveragazza · 29/10/2020 15:07

Jane, I see you’re into conspiracy theories. You’ve made me chuckle and cheered up a driech day.
But.....................perhaps a new career beckons me........😘

Pinkearedcow. The table and chairs were from Danetti. I believe Etsy have very similar.

Janegrey333 what on earth is your problem with the the OP and her kitchen? Your behaviour on this thread is very odd.

pinkearedcow · 29/10/2020 15:14

Thanks Indecisiveragazza.

pinkearedcow · 29/10/2020 15:16

I note the wine rack. If only so many of us weren't on some sort of lockdown we could come and help you drink it...

WildCherryBlossom · 29/10/2020 15:22

Does your cat drink red wine?

It's a beautiful kitchen. Really wonderful. Enjoy OP.

Saranvenya · 29/10/2020 15:23

Some jealousy by the look of a few comments OP.
I think its lovely as it is but I like a kitchen to look showroom pristine!
I think the only thing I'd add is a big vase of beautiful flowers.

paap1975 · 29/10/2020 15:26

I have major kitchen envy now. It's gorgeous!
