Help tomorrow is d day and I'm flipping
House a 30min walk to city, 15 min walk to beach
Huge garden, 4 sheds
6 bedrooms, 5 ensuites
Needs new kitchen and bathrooms,
Utility room is outside
Needs some building work in kitchen to remove huge cooker thingy
Expensive
House B
5 min walk to beach, 10 to city
Turnkey Condition, all new kitchen etc
4 bedroom, office and 5th bedroom could be hobby room
Large kitchen dining living, 2nd living very small
No ensuite upstairs

Very small garden, very nicely done but no room to play
Area doesn't look as pretty
Cheaper by 87k not including building costs on A
Husband wants house A, I like location of B and fact it's done but afraid I'll regret smaller house

House A

House A

scrunchy · 09/09/2020 04:50

Why would ye choose A?

OP posts:
Oliversmumsarmy · 09/09/2020 05:07

Because it has a bigger garden and is overall larger.

You can change the appearance of a house but you can’t make the garden bigger

CaroleFuckingBaskin · 09/09/2020 05:11

House A
B will piss you off in time as the only good thing is that its already done up

HazelWong · 09/09/2020 05:12

B - location sounds amazing. Why would you use a big garden if you're 5 mins walk from the beach?

Bumfuzzled · 09/09/2020 05:29

Do you actually need 6 bedrooms and 5 ensures? That’s a hell of a lot of cleaning!

donnadenise · 09/09/2020 05:32

A
I'd prefer b with five mins to the beach but the small garden would stop it

crosser62 · 09/09/2020 05:34

5 bathrooms...just no need!
What’s a “turnkey condition”?

helly29 · 09/09/2020 08:08

A for me - better garden, nicer looking area, plus you can't change the plot size. Does A stretch your budget or still comfortable?
It's still fairly close to the beach. I'm 15 minutes walk from our nearest playground and we still go plenty.

Marchitectmummy · 09/09/2020 08:11

Which size house do you need?

If you don't need tge additional space I would go for b.

giletrouge · 09/09/2020 08:12

They are so different in size - do you really want the extra rooms? If so, why is B viable?
I'd want house B with garden A - anything like house B on the market but with a bigger garden?

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 09/09/2020 08:13

I am also voting A

FAQs · 09/09/2020 08:13

Turnkey equals move in, no work required.

A sounds a better long term financial investment.

KoalasandRabbit · 09/09/2020 08:31

I'ld go for B unless you are planning a very large family. I wouldn't take on a renovation project during covid and would prefer to be closer to things and save money.

NetballHoop · 09/09/2020 08:37

A because you can add value to it and it sounds like a perfect house for Air BNB (once Covid dies down).

Sertchgi123 · 09/09/2020 08:42

A

Purplewithred · 09/09/2020 08:52

Assuming you have 3 kids and enough £, then A. If no kids/not enough money then neither, keep looking, rent if necessary.

Zebrahooves · 09/09/2020 09:24

If B is big enough for you, I would go for B too. A is a lot of extra heating and cleaning if you don't need all of that space. I would love to have the beach nearby too.

notangelinajolie · 09/09/2020 09:28

A sounds like the better buy.

scrunchy · 09/09/2020 14:03

I have 4 kids,

OP posts:
sunshinesupermum · 09/09/2020 14:29

If you have 4 kids then it has to be A but it sounds a money pit.

Aknifewith16blades · 09/09/2020 14:34

FWIW the way you've written your first post sounds like you want A.

littlecontis · 09/09/2020 14:37

House A - a larger house for the family.

WhereOnEarthDoIStart · 09/09/2020 14:49

A - the longer walks will keep you fit :-)
