Would you view this house based on this advert and if not, what would you change?

Thank you

Yes I would

Mildura · 28/07/2020 16:43

The main shot should always be of the front, imho.

What's wrong with using picture 3 as the main one?

fedupandlookingforchange · 28/07/2020 16:44

Maybe some flowers in vases and some flowering pots in the garden. Its very clutter free which people seem to like

Commentutappelles · 28/07/2020 16:45

No, not for me at all, sorry!

eggofmantumbi · 28/07/2020 16:45

Definitely!;

cautiouscovidity · 28/07/2020 16:45

Yes this! If I saw the back garden as the main photo I would assume the front is hideous (which it's not).
Thriceisnice · 28/07/2020 16:46

@mildura we have been on the market for 6 weeks with only 1 viewing and the estate agent suggested mixing up the pictures to refresh the advert.

@fedupandlookingforchange thank you, can definitely do that. I do worry that the garden is a bit bare - low maintenance appealed to us but could definitely add some colour

It's a beautiful house but I wouldn't view it - it's a very personal reason and no reflection on your house though! My 3 children don't spend time in their rooms unless sleeping, so I need more than the kitchen and living room downstairs. Lockdown has proved I need a separate working space, and I can't see any potential for that in your house without losing garden space or the garage (which is also really useful storage as you seem to have bedrooms in the roof space).

A lot of work has obviously gone into making the house beautiful and tidy, but it wouldn't be practical for my family and I don't know how I'd change that.

PickAChew · 28/07/2020 16:47

Absolutely. It's a wee bit dated with the blue kitchen doors but nothing deal breaking. The lounge looks a bit narrow on the floor plan but that's a general issue with townhouses. The bedrooms are great.

I'd like to see the front of the house in the first picture, though. It's good to see how big the garden is but the perspective in that picture is confusing and people might scroll past. The frontage of the house is quite attractive, so nothing to hide, there.

Thriceisnice · 28/07/2020 16:49

@eekthreek thank you. We have sort of outgrown it, it is a lovely house and was great with one child but we've had a surprise late addition so need a little more downstairs space

Agree with others the first photo should definitely be the front of the house.
Apart from that it’s lovely and yes I would view.

beautifulxdisasters · 28/07/2020 16:51

Agree with a PP that I always assume the front has something wrong with it if it's not the first pic!

PickAChew · 28/07/2020 16:52

And I agree with PP. The most off-putting thing for many people is that it's a townhouse so living space is limited. One if the bedrooms could be used as an office or snug but then there would only be 3 rooms left. How does the price compare with 3 bed 2 reception houses in the area?

KingOfDogShite · 28/07/2020 16:52

No I wouldn’t because it isn’t the style of house I like. I’d also be concerned that the photos look like there someone else’s side door in the garden. Is it a shared space?

Thriceisnice · 28/07/2020 16:53

@pickachew my parents have just sold a 3 bed 2 reception room house for 5 thousand pounds less than we are on the market for, so not disimillar in price

Then I don't think the order of the photos is the issue!

BruceAndNosh · 28/07/2020 16:54

Yes, if only to discover why there is a door from what looks like another house opening into your garden!

Viviennemary · 28/07/2020 16:54

It will probably appeal to younger people. I'm not keen on the sloping ceilings in the bedrooms. But the accommodation is very good and it does seem spacious. I think the main photo needs to show what type of house it is - semi, terraced, mews. But it looks very well maintained.

Thriceisnice · 28/07/2020 16:54

@kingofdogshite I was wondering how people interpreted that arrangement. No, it's the door to our garage.

OP posts:
Thriceisnice · 28/07/2020 16:57

@pickachew definitely agree about the kitchen and if we don't move I think it will be our next project!

OP posts:
Chicchicchicchiclana · 28/07/2020 16:57

No. Reasons why are narrow lounge, don't like the conservatory, don't like the garden.

KingOfDogShite · 28/07/2020 16:57

Then you really need to make that clear as it looks like a shared yard at the moment which would be an absolute no for most people. It doesn’t look like a garage at all.

GreyGardens88 · 28/07/2020 17:00

Not for me, North facing garden and that house doesn't look very cosy which is what I like personally

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 28/07/2020 17:01

the conservatory...empty...looks bad, also I don't like the bare brick in there.

also seems to be a lot of duplicated pictures

people also are not keen on split level gardens ime

I'd go and view, but it does seem bedroom and bathroom heavy..maybe as the conservatory is dead space?

PickAChew · 28/07/2020 17:01

Might be best to remove the confusing door pic, tbh.
