Update from me - we exchanged yesterday and completed today!!

Got the keys at noon and have been in there since sorting things. We are lucky in that we are FTB and living with my DM so are decorating before we move in.

Will pop back on the thread and hopefully see lots of positive news soon

I'm one of the lucky ones who will be completing - unfortunately my removals firm is fully booked for tomorrow so can't deliver my stuff until Monday . However as my 'loving' boyfriend pointed out - at least I can spend the weekend cleaning it and also get the Bissell on the carpets so they are nice and fresh! I suspect he wants me out of his house this weekend so he can have some of his personal space back

my husband has just heard from the agent, the people yesterday saw 5, liked 2 including ours but decided to go with the other one as it's got a bigger garden (but it's on a main road) - i think mines nicer!

@Karcheer people are weird arent' they! But your buyer is out there - somewhere!!! Good luck x

We have booked the survey of the property we are buying for next week. Our buyers have been round with a builder in lieu of a survey.
Our solicitor hasn't received documents from our vendors or our buyers yet though so hopefully we aren't being too early going ahead with survey.
@karcheer garden size isn't one of those things that you can do anything about but I wouldn't choose main road due to dog!

@catndogslife I've got two dogs and a cat, and grew up on a main road, so i agree. I think you have to accept some things you just can't change. it would be boring if we all liked the same things...

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. No baby! But we have exchanged today!  my god the relief.

Our buyer has continually fucked us around this week and now the completion day is next Friday. So the realities are that, on that day, I will be either: 4 days overdue, in labour, in hospital with a newborn, or between homes with a newborn. None of these are ideal but we've gone beyond the point of caring. A baby will be had. A move will happen. We're going to use this week to get everything out in to storage so there's nothing to do on completion day.

We've just had our survey done and all fine. Basically just waiting for solicitors' searches at the moment so all very boring. Hoping something happens soon!

@PregnantAndOverIt we exchanged two weeks ago and completed today 👍🏻👍🏻 Went to get the keys and have a quick look round after work - glad I did as four windows were open one of which was downstairs! Bit overwhelmed by how much work needs doing but it’s mostly cosmetic and once I’ve cleaned the carpets and washed the kitchen cupboards and wardrobes out over the weekend it won’t smell like any grandmas house used to smell 😊😊

Apparently our file is sat on our buyers solicitors desk awaiting signing off, all searches were done and all enquiries answered so hoping to exchange anytime now. We are at the bottom of a chain and unfortunately it has been us holding things up but was out of our control - I feel so terrible for all the others that is has gone on so long.

Still no exchange.

Going out of my head. Have been out today with DD2 while DD1 is at nursery.

Our solicitor can’t get any answers from anyone. The agent at the bottom of the chain said they expect to exchange today but there’s no time, no update... it’s 20 past fucking 2. Deposit is in, everything is signed what the fucking fuck is taking so long?

How annoying @Since2016, especially to get no answers as well. Do you even know who is holding everyone up?
If it's any consolation we exchanged at about 4:30pm yesterday and at 2:30pm our sols were still pissing about, so there is still time to get it done today!!

Thanks @MrBobLobLaw I’ve spoken to our agent who said that he’s spoken to our solicitor who has finally gotten through to someone at the conveyancing factory the ftb at the bottom of the chain is using. About 40 mins ago. I was told it was literally imminent and happening now... 40 mins ago.

Don't forget they have to call round eeeeeveryone in the chain so that's hopefully what is happening right now. But trust me I know EXACTLY how you feel, waiting for the phone to call with news that isn't just 'we're just waiting on this or that'. That was me for the past 3 days!

Aargh, I may need to kill my DH. He's just realised he forgot to pay off his credit card. It was due yesterday, a whopping £38. So he's obviously paid it now but I'm panicking it'll show as a late payment and mess up mortgage? It's approved but think they run the credit check again before completion? Why?!

We're completing on the same day, though we're moving everything out in to storage this weekend by ourselves (with help from DPs fam) in case baby comes in the meantime...!

I really wouldn't worry too much @cantbelievemyeyes, one late payment (paid the very next day!) shouldn't effect your offer. Do you have a mortgage broker? You could always check with them first. He won't forget again!!

I have an offer after 4 days on the market! 2k over the asking price and there are another 7 viewings tomorrow so who knows. I know it’s early days but fingers crossed.

I have put in an offer on a property I like too, I think I might have to go a bit higher to secure it but let’s see what they say.

Oh furniture shopping sounds great @Since2016! We're upsizing but not by much so still trying to get rid of stuff. Moved loads of stuff in to storage today but there's just so much to get through.. I'm really not that chilled! Definitely realising why people shouldn't do all these big things at the same time.

Spent four hours yesterday wiping down paintwork and cleaning carpets in my new house! Both parents have seen the house and said how lovely it is to see me so excited and happy about it ! Previous house never felt like mine as ex had dictated which house I should buy as he was paying the mortgage. this one is ALL mine
Just got to sweep out the garage, clean the kitchen cupboards and wash out the fridge freezer before furniture arrives tomorrow!
Think top of my 'to do' list is a new boiler as I can't figure out how to run the program on the existing one . But then its the en suite which will take priority! Already looking at bathroom stuff [grinn]
