Can we start a lovely thread with pics of your kitchens to give me some inspiration?? I'm finally in the position this year to have a new kitchen but I'm really unsure. I do like gloss kitchens but I also like painted shaker kitchens.:-)

here's mine - pics from realtor though. Not to my taste exactly (was upgraded right before we purchased last year) but it is exceptionally functional. All of the roll out cabinets, high end appliances, and drawers for everything - who knew we'd need three knife drawers? - make it really easy to keep organized. I love it now.

2018SoFarSoGreat - lovely kitchen - soooo grand! :-)

@2018SoFarSoGreat, that is a huge oven! Love it!

soakedat3 · 04/04/2019 20:08

@bobkate, are you units Alchemy Ellerton true handleless? If so, how are they and where did you get them? Your kitchen looks stunning!

I am thinking of a mix between Ellerton and Second Nature Litchfield. Just thinking that a painted surface might not do well in a messy house but I love the framing of the Ellerton.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 04/04/2019 20:14

Soakedat3 the story is that they had to redesign the front door - make it a double door instead of single - to get the ginormous stove in. It has changed our lives - I could feed the 5000 all in one sitting (if I could cook that is ;))

soakedat3 · 04/04/2019 21:52

@2018SoFarSoGreat, that's such a good story! That family really loved the kitchen! :D

bobkate · 04/04/2019 23:10

sundowners you have put a big smile on my face. Thank you so much for the compliment Smile A bit like Sorrells, it was a long slog and we still have quite a bit left to do so it's been a bit disheartening recently but I feel very flattered and it's made my day so thank you!
Our flooring is Karndean, the van Gogh range in country oak. Really happy with it. We have 2 mucky dogs, kids and it's coping brilliantly with them so we're v happy we've gone with it.
soakedat3 I am so happy I found this range. My DH wanted handleless but I thought I wanted shaker so this is a perfect compromise and it took away the need to choose handles which was stressing me out! I think it's true handleless. If you like, I can try to take some closer pics of the rail and handle grip bit. Seems you can get many more colours now. We went for chalk and putty.
We got everything from units online. Had a slight hiccup with a couple of the doors but it was soon sorted. Felt like a pain in the bum at the time, but looking back it was not really the end of the world! I would def recommend units online though. We are not a particularly tidy house but they clean up well. I love the simplicity and the matte finish. Only one niggle really which is the gap between the two tall doors that join together on the tall larders and the fridge and freezer. Just bugs me a bit but I have sorted the larder gap using edging tape behind the brackets!
Feel free to ask me on here or pm me if you have any other questions Smile

soakedat3 i have tried to get some closer up pics of the rail and 'handles'. Hope it helps Smile

I’m in the process of doing mine. But it’s agony. It’s the smallest kitchen I’ve ever had and it’s forcing design decisions like sink OR wine fridge?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s a cruel cruel
world 🙇🏻‍♀️

soakedat3 · 05/04/2019 14:38

@bobkate the finish on the doors look excellent! There is a showroom supposedly stocking this range near me so I will go and have a look and feel but I will be comparing prices with Units Online. Did you have to add soft close hinges as extras?

I too like the shaker look but am drawn to handless as a modern slant on it. I love the elegance of the panelling on the Ellerton. I have kitchen envy!

EmmaBead · 05/04/2019 19:33

MIght as well post my kitchen in this thread as well. We ended up with the Buckingham White Ash Range from crowndiyhalifax.co.uk Their designer kept amending it until we were entirely happy and once the cabinets were delivered we got a local fitter to do the hard work. Not only did we save about £800 this way but we got a lovely kitchen, fair to say we're extremely happy with how it ended up! Attached some pictures on imgur so you can see my pride and joy. Please let me know what you think?

@EmmaBead, that wooden worktop is gorgeous! What kind is it please?

rosinavera · 05/04/2019 22:14

EmmaBead that is one lovely kitchen! Just beautiful!

bobkate · 06/04/2019 19:18

soakedat3 think the soft close hinges came as standard, can't really remember now. We found a showroom locally as well, although they only had a very small display set up of the ellerton and it was in a coliur I was not that keen on, but it did give us a great feel for how it could look.

Littlepickers · 06/04/2019 19:45

Hi I’m a first time poster. how do you post pics? Thanks in advance

soakedat3 · 06/04/2019 22:06

Under the box to post a message there are "choose file" buttons. You just use them.

soakedat3 · 11/04/2019 12:03

@bridgetosomewhere, what colour is that on your kitchen wall please? It's really lovely! I am thinking of sage and blue tones in ours and that one looks really calming.

bridgetosomewhere · 11/04/2019 14:19

soakedat3 it's called cottage door by Valspar

Some lights it's bluey and some it's grey. I absolutely love it and have it on the opposite end of the room too - it's a big space about 40ft and it has transformed the room. It's cool yet warm - strange colour but I would defo use it in my next house.

We are selling up.... :(

soakedat3 · 11/04/2019 16:29

Thanks bridge! I like Valspar. We have used rabbits foot in the hall and in some lights it's pink and others it's beige.

From the sad face you don't want to move. You'll have to look forward to a new kitchen challenge! :)

Arborea · 10/05/2019 22:12

@EmmaBead beautiful kitchen! Were the units flatpack or supplied pre-built?
