Fancy critiquing my house?

I think I'm made of stern enough stuff for this...

We've been on the market a while now and viewings are lacking. About 18 viewings in 4 months I think. Lots of positive feedback. One offer, far too low. Negative feedback is small second bedroom and on street parking.

Other houses in the area which are similar are selling. And often marketed at a higher price as well!

Any ideas on how I can get more people through the door? Preferably ideas that aren't going to cost me an absolute fortune. We've already painted the outside of the house to brighten it up.

What is wrong with my house?

I made comment earlier on the main things that stood out to me, but have noticed there is a few people making comments on the kitchen. The kitchen is tricky as there is quite a few out there that like/love kitchens like this and the other half wanting a modern sleek design which doesn't always appeal to those that want the cozy cottage style. The only thing I would do there is remove the table (if possible) for pictures and viewings.

As for not moving the furniture due to everyday life, you need to remember that the arrangements are temporary and that your home needs to sell a lifestyle that appeals to the broader marked out there. You can make it work, though is may be tough, for a couple/few weeks.

gorgeous bathroom. Haven't read other comments but first impression was too much furniture makes it look a bit small and crowded which I'm sure it isn't, particularly the smaller bedroom and room with tables in. That would probably be enough to put me off.

This thread does show you've got to have nerves of steel to show your house on here! I doubt if I could do that.

wowfudge · 29/04/2018 18:41

There is always a fair amount of 1. Repetition; and 2. Needless nit-picking. But it just goes to show what some people notice or think is important.

OP I hope you are able to sell your house x

Dickybow321 · 03/05/2018 19:04

WOW, OP, I have just looked at your house again and I can't believe it is the same property! It looks gorgeous now. Well done MN! Smile

Dickybow321 · 03/05/2018 19:04

Have you had much more interest since?

MrsMozart · 03/05/2018 19:10

Very nice OP!

Dickybow321 · 03/05/2018 19:12

I honestly didn't realise your bathroom was so nice. Weird.

isthisspring · 03/05/2018 19:30

That looks much better OP. One tiny thing is that I might put a picture or two up in the lounge to make it look less bare, but huge improvement.

SubtitlesOn · 03/05/2018 20:00

That looks heaps better

Hope you get it sold PDQ

Hi all...quick update to say after changing the advert we had one viewing and sold on that one. So thank you to everyone for the various advice!

And no we didn't have to compromise on price for all those saying we were overpriced Grin
