So FTB,
Latest update last week was solicitor waiting for an enquiry raised with sellers solicitor & 1 search to come back.
Almost there!!

Anyone else with me?

Old4new2018 it's because I know my buyer and my seller and we are in a gain of three. We are all aiming for the same timeline and solicitor advises it's doable.

HopefullyMoving · 13/08/2018 20:55

Chain of three*

Pearlsofmadness · 13/08/2018 21:12

@twogirls and @emdude Glad you both finally have an end in sight! Woohoo Wine

Still no news from my solicitor but maybe tomorrow!

MeMeMeow85 · 13/08/2018 22:35

We exchanged last week. Unfortunately we’ve got a really long date to wait till completion as the vendor found somewhere to buy instead of renting as they originally promised grrrrr.

If anyone is waiting for Highways searches, I found it helpful to chase them myself. The solicitor was sat twiddling her thumbs waiting for the results. I harassed them and called 7 times one day to get the answer we were waiting for.

Actually with hindsight our solicitor did a great job of getting us ready to exchange in 6.5 weeks (she annoyed me though throughout this time with a laid back attitude and by expressing zero urgency despite us wanting to exchange ASAP).

emdude · 14/08/2018 07:59

Still exchanging tomorrow but completion poss now next Friday as, after weeks of pushing us to hurry up, the buyers solicitor are not sure they'll be ready for the 17th.

AAAAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!

HopefullyMoving · 14/08/2018 08:04

Day two of 5. Countdown to completion.
I'm thinking it isn't going to happen for us this week. Sellers conveyancers are just too slow and have no sense of urgency. Bummer.

2moveornot2move · 14/08/2018 08:32

Hi All. Can I join?

We were due to exchange on August 3rd but nothing has happened. We had to start pushing after that and are now so fed up we do know if we even want to sell now! Anyone else feel like that? We think final enquiries have now been answered, last week, so are not sure what's holding things up now. We have been on this rollercoaster for over a year now, on our third buyer and I just want it all to be over one way or another!

HopefullyMoving · 14/08/2018 13:05

I get moments of "oh I just can't be bothered anymore, whatever" but then I go and buy some curtains and get a little bit excited again!

Mildura · 14/08/2018 14:01

I harassed them and called 7 times one day to get the answer we were waiting for.
Blimey! I bet you were popular!!

emdude · 14/08/2018 14:39

And now we're aiming for completion next Weds - bit random in the middle of the week!! Anyone else done this?

legolimb · 14/08/2018 15:36

I've asked for a Wednesday too.

The removal guy said it was a good choice as they had more availability. Most people want to move on a Friday - I guess because of work?

HopefullyMoving · 14/08/2018 16:16

So end of day two of five on the countdown to completion.

We've hit a snag and it's looking highly unlikely that we will exchange this week or even next.
The delay may even cause our buyers to pull out.
Ffs. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

legolimb · 14/08/2018 16:27

Noway!!

I thought once contracts were exchanged that was final?

Sorry to hear this - fingers crossed some miracle occurs and you do exchange.

2moveornot2move · 14/08/2018 17:01

Oh no @HopefullyMoving what on earth has caused this so late in the day? Sending you good luck vibes to get it sorted quickly!

Our EA has said we are on course to exchange this week with a completion on 31st August. Though our solicitor isn't aware of this so not sure how true it is.

HopefullyMoving · 14/08/2018 17:03

I'm sorry. Typo. It's a countdown to exchange.

It's a legal aid charge which has only been requested late in the day. My solicitor advised it can take a month for legal aid to turn this around and it's only just been applied for by our sellers solicitors.

emdude · 14/08/2018 17:15

Oh no @HopefullyMoving how annoying for you. Why was it requested so late in the day? Does it definitely have to be in place before you exchange?

HopefullyMoving · 14/08/2018 17:28

Yes it does. No idea why it was late. Sellers solicitors have needed to be chased every step. Disappointing doesn't cover it!

Twogirlsonelabrador · 14/08/2018 22:31

so sorry to hear this 'hopefully'....not good. Well we actually exchanged today! and will be completing on Friday - monies are in, need to pack all the extra bits now! bring it on!

emdude · 15/08/2018 08:58

Have heard from vendors EA who now say vendors are looking to legally EXCHANGE on 22nd not COMPLETE as we were told. I've cancelled patients and booked annual leave for moving next week. I'm so friggin sick of this whole ridiculous process. My work are going to go nuts if I have to cancel and rebook annual leave once more!!!

2moveornot2move · 15/08/2018 14:15

Just heard from EA that everything is in, just need the bottom of the chain to agree to completion on 31st August. Eeeeek!

emdude · 15/08/2018 15:44

Contracts exchanged! EA got the message a bit wrapped round her head. Now completing on 24th August. Can't believe it!!

JustLurk1ng · 15/08/2018 16:16

We're just waiting for our survey results and we can push for exchange (EA told us to put it off... not sure why!)

Ee!

Just waiting for all the other issues to pop out with the chain when our conveyancer starts pushing the rest of the chain to exchange! This process has turned me into such a cynic Confused

JustLurk1ng · 15/08/2018 16:18

Congrats @emdude! How long did it take end to end from offer acceptance?
