@Tohaveandtohold WineThanksbrilliant news I am
So so pleased for you xxx

legolimb · 09/07/2018 16:08

Good news!

Hope moving day is a breeze

zebrapig · 09/07/2018 16:16

Congratulations @Tohaveandtohold it must be such a relief!

Our survey was done last week and we've started talking dates as the rest of the chain are ready to exchange on Friday as apparently someone is willing to break it by moving in with family. The estate agent just phone to check if it was us as I had said we'd do this if it was just a week but I've said no way, I knew nothing about this Friday. We want to exchange by 27th and move after the 6th as we're away in the middle. Then she tells me that our vendors have just put an offer in on another property, 6 weeks down the line and after they told us they weren't making an onward purchase. To say I'm pissed off is an understatement Angry

mangocoveredlamb · 09/07/2018 16:58

Congratulations tohave

zebrapig it’s just the most frustrating thing.
I’m just desperate to move, or at the very least have a date in place. I feel we’re living in some sort of horrible limbo, but until it is all sorted then anything could go wrong!!

Tohaveandtohold · 09/07/2018 17:45

Thank you all

PotterheadDumbledore · 09/07/2018 20:57

We are waiting on tenterhooks to exchange tomorrow, it’s 12 weeks today since we accepted an offer on our house and it feels like a massive slog to get to this point. A weeks delay over an indemnity policy for window installation that was requested on the 15th June!

Please keep your fingers crossed for it all going to plan tomorrow! I don’t think I can take another day of this stressy waiting Sad

DollyPlastic · 09/07/2018 21:15

We have sold my grandparent's house to their neighbour and the survey was done last week.

Hoping it goes through quickly as the stress on my mum is ridiculous.

Anyone have an idea of likely timescales after survey? The neighbour is buying it for his DD but needs a mortgage I think.

PleaseSell2018 · 10/07/2018 09:09

Good luck today Potter, we have an exchange date for tomorrow 🤞

MissCherryCakeyBun · 10/07/2018 09:22

Good luck Potter and please fingers crossed all goes to plan

legolimb · 10/07/2018 09:27

Some good news from some of you. it's nice to hear.

Hope all the moves go well - and quickly.

As for us - things are shifting at last. I have had to do a lot of chasing up - the bank, solicitors (at both ends) and the survey company. I'm fed up of it all. But hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Having a couple of quotes from removal companies today - so that's another thing to factor in (and pay for! ) :)

I just want to move!!!

PotterheadDumbledore · 10/07/2018 10:10

Well, so far our vendors solicitor is away and someone else will be dealing with it for him. Our solicitor sent over a last minute missing form that I DEFINITELY have sent over before Hmm and now my husband can’t get hold of our solicitor to give his verbal permission! Aargh!

mangocoveredlamb · 10/07/2018 10:52

Our vendors solicitor is so crap.
We sent responses to queries four weeks ago today. They only passed it on last week. FFS

exciting pleasesell

I don’t care how long til completion I just want to get exchanged so that we’re covered!!

Gilead · 10/07/2018 11:46

Well, I seem to be back on the roller coaster for now, have lost £1,000 due to somewhat difficult purchaser. We shall see, but if she comes back before exchange demanding further reductions, it'll be back on the market before she's put the 'phone down. Why people become unnecessarily spiteful I do not know.

PotterheadDumbledore · 10/07/2018 14:17

Not happening today Sad as deposit money at the bottom wasn’t ready. So very frustrating but hopefully tomorrow will go smoothly for us both please!

PleaseSell2018 · 10/07/2018 16:03

That is annoying Potter.

Dh called the solicitor today and he's doubtful now we'll exchange tomorrow. This is just so stressful!

Twogirlsonelabrador · 10/07/2018 16:12

just posted a separate thread about it as after tips...but omg if I am told one more time by my solicitor that she is "waiting for response from sellers solicitor on enquires" im going to put my head in the oven!

kizkiz · 10/07/2018 17:46

So depressing reading all these stories. Lol
We have got to the stage of our purchase being ready to go, just our buyers solicitor still pissing about asking stupid questions, half of which he already has the answer to!
Have set the estate agents on him. They've also been harassing the buyers Grin
Am hoping to be exchanging in the next week, as there are only two of us to agree dates.

Twogirlsonelabrador · 11/07/2018 09:45

kizkiz sounds like we are in exactly the same boat, hoping to exchange asap and only 2 in the chain!

HashtagTired · 11/07/2018 10:00

Can I join?

It's early days for me but now I've made a decision I just want it to happen NOW!

I've done everything I can. Like I say, early days. Waiting for sellers solicitor to draw up the contracts. Likely timeframe anyone?

This is our first house sale ...

mangocoveredlamb · 11/07/2018 11:16

hashtag
We received our contracts at the beggining of June, a month after we instructed the solicitor, we still don’t have any dates!

PleaseSell2018 · 11/07/2018 13:27

I don't think it's going to happen today for us. Our solicitor didn't pass on answers to an enquiry we replied to last week and the buyers solicitor hasn't received a letter regarding their mortgage offer.

Dh is furious as he has pressure from work to resign as they know we are leaving UK and they can't start to fill his position until they have this.

PotterheadDumbledore · 11/07/2018 13:49

It may not happen for us today either Please as the bottom of the chain hasn’t yet transferred over the deposit...despite the solicitor saying yesterday that he had! The estate agent is furious and managed to get hold of him to ask him to transfer it over so we can get this exchange done.
So very cross right now and incredibly frustrated with the whole process.

PleaseSell2018 · 11/07/2018 13:59

I will secretly have hope right up until 5pm Potter then will be so annoyed all evening if it doesn't go through - regardless of the footy outcome!

Why would they say they had the deposit when they didn't, surely not an easy thing to overlook Confused

MissCherryCakeyBun · 11/07/2018 14:05

I am shocked about the deposit that's really poor Confused

PotterheadDumbledore · 11/07/2018 14:22

You’d think they’d know if they’d received it - we are now waiting to see if it can be transferred from abroad or wether we have to wait yet another day, argh!
