fingers crossed for some good news for you soon!

Housemum · 04/07/2018 14:09

Have any of you had details of the questions that have been raised to the people you are buying from? I'm asked Gatekeeper Girl yesterday and was patronisingly fobbed off (the tone was pretty much it's legal-stuff-dear-not-for-you). I just asked if we could have a copy of the enquiries that they'd sent off so I knew what sort of thing was being asked. Also, I know the seller so if I thought it's something their solicitor would have to refer to them I'd have texted her and asked her to get paperwork ready. (Pretty sure one question would be for guarantee cert for replacement windows, she has got that ready).

PleaseSell2018 · 04/07/2018 14:17

That is terrible LIVIA, to wait so long to tell you also.

I've just about come to the end of my 'waiting' teather. I'm no longer working and I've got too much time to think about it all day. I'm just so fucking bored of it all.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 04/07/2018 14:21

Ours were questions directly related to warranties for boiler / shower etc and for the gas safe certificates and service paperwork for the fire.
Also copies of planning permission and building compliance paperwork.

That was it for what hadn't been sent over by their solicitor.....however I should have asked why their solicitor was a fuckwit who works at the speed of a lame Sloth....and an illiterate Sloth at that Grin

MissCherryCakeyBun · 04/07/2018 14:25

Please sell I too am at the end of my teather must be the hot weather. OH just sent an email to our Solicitor asking him exactly what is delaying everything....he wants to know in writing Grin. He then said he would like compilation to be 20th July as from what we can see there is absolutely nothing holding things up other than the sellers solicitor ( fuckwit lame Sloth) who has taken a week to send back the correct fixtures and fittings list after supplying one with the previous buyers details on it and listing items that are not in the sodding house! I need wine but it's not even 2:30 Wine

JohnsonsSpreadsheet · 04/07/2018 15:36

We SSTC last week and everyone hopes to complete by mi-late August... I was so hopeful until I read this thread 😂

Our buyer has sold to a first time buyer and our vendor is deceased estate so fingers crossed, I think our solicitor thinks I'm neurotic as I've asked for two updates already 😳

PleaseSell2018 · 05/07/2018 16:51

We have surely answered the final queries our buyers could ask...please let us now be able to exchange 🤞

And Johsons sorry but you are really dreaming there with that timeline 😂

Twogirlsonelabrador · 05/07/2018 17:22

Heard from the solicitor today when she sent fixtures and fittings list that there are just a couple of queries outstanding but we should be able to exchange AND complete within the next 2 weeks!!! Yikes! Off to buy new teatowels!

MissCherryCakeyBun · 05/07/2018 18:22

Depressing letter from our solicitor today listing all the things we are waiting for answers on from the vendors (15 and some very important ) it suddenly seems so much further away ☹️
OH has an interview next week for a new job in the area we are moving too (3 hours away) it's going to be hard to explain we haven't moved yet....can't really afford to rent anywhere as we are now renting storage for our belongings Gahhhhh so bloody stressful. I can't even think about looking for a new job until we have moved as I suffer with anxiety and have a mild disability that means I'm unsteady on my feet so jobs that fit in with my health are harder to find.
Can it be Christmas now please and we will have ALL Moved into our beautiful new homes [santa][santa][santa]

Housemum · 05/07/2018 20:04

johnsons don’t want to burst your bubble but estate sales aren’t always straight forward. SIL due to complete next week - this has been going on since Christmas! The executors don’t live locally, and they hadn’t seen the relative for years, so hadn’t no answers to any of the questions nor had they any ide where the paperwork for guarantees/building regs etc were.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 05/07/2018 21:31

I agree about Estate sales are hard....that's what ours is Confused

Tohaveandtohold · 05/07/2018 22:01

We finally exchanged today after a long and stressful period. Completing on Monday but we’re not moving on that day as we still have almost a week in our rented house.

Housemum · 05/07/2018 22:41

Well done tohave - lovely to have a few days to get sorted too

PleaseSell2018 · 05/07/2018 22:41

That's good news tohave Wine

Our buyers today have asked for a rather large reduction. Have only my just found out today also they're FTB and think they're spooked by the survey results. Fucked off our EA lied to us about their position in the beginning.

Ffs I could cry, 10 wasted weeks 😖

JohnsonsSpreadsheet · 05/07/2018 23:00

Our current house was an estate and it took 8 weeks from start to finish!

mangocoveredlamb · 05/07/2018 23:28

Don’t write them off just yet pleasesell we asked for a reduction and the seller said no, but we’re going for it anyway. Just means we have to adjust our expectations of how much cosmetic work we can do!

Dickybow321 · 06/07/2018 00:38

@PleaseSell2018 why is the fact that they are FTB bad? I thought FTB were the holy grail?

MissCherryCakeyBun · 06/07/2018 01:16

Nahhhh it's cash buyers with no chain that are Hens Teeth....no mortgage no chain

PleaseSell2018 · 06/07/2018 08:09

Dicky Because they're nervous sorts. I wouldn't not sell to FTB, we were them once! But they took 5 weeks to submit their mortgage app which had I known they were FTB I would have kept the pressure on more.

Mango we are going to offer a little under half what they've asked for and if not, we'll go back on this afternoon.

SlothMama · 09/07/2018 09:34

We are still waiting and now the seller is refusing to discuss dates... their entitled attitude is driving me mad!

MissCherryCakeyBun · 09/07/2018 11:09

Sending hugs Slothmama it's so endlessly frustrating isn't it.....sending a glass of wine your way Wine

mangocoveredlamb · 09/07/2018 13:41

Oh Slothmama! It’s so infuriating.
We have no idea when we’re going to move but if we don’t exchange by Wednesday we won’t be able to complete before we come back from holiday, which is 5 weeks today!

SlothMama · 09/07/2018 14:23

We were given a time frame which turned out to be a total lie to get us to submit an offer and get our surveys done.
Their solicitor has suggested a date after I pointed out that I won't waste a days holiday if they change their mind when they want to move. I'm so tempted to book a long holiday in August and tell them I'll move when it suits me!

Tohaveandtohold · 09/07/2018 15:33

Completed today, got the keys now. It’s such a relief. We’ll be moving tomorrow but glad we’re done renting. Thank you all for your support on this thread.

SlothMama · 09/07/2018 15:35

Congratulations @Tohaveandtohold ! Enjoy your new home :)
