Assuming all you lovely people in a chain still need a support group? Here it is......

Congratulations Becky!

Beckyb1 · 05/08/2017 22:10

Thanks cosh!

m0therofdragons · 07/08/2017 07:33

Moving day today! Eeeek

Fortheloveofscience · 07/08/2017 09:50

Good luck!!

m0therofdragons · 07/08/2017 10:19

The removal men are doing everything so actually it's not to bad. They've brought 3 lorries!

CoshPunt · 07/08/2017 13:23

Eeeek, so exciting. Hope everything goes well for you today m0ther!

Apparently the seller has given authority to exchange today, but they aren't certain if he's given authority on the completion date..? Hmm Not sure what the hell is going on here. Why wouldn't they confirm that when he gave authority?!

SuperDiaperBaby · 07/08/2017 13:26

Just gone under offer - could be a long haul as complicated chain. Going to read the thread for suggestions about potential pitfalls. m0ther hope the day goes smoothly.

CoshPunt · 07/08/2017 13:30

Welcome SuperDiaperBaby!

SuperDiaperBaby · 07/08/2017 14:59

Just read some of the thread and feel a bit faint - how are you still standing Cosh? Got a list together of the papers etc I can gather up incase they are needed.

CoshPunt · 07/08/2017 15:14

We've exchanged! Still convinced he will pull out at some point between now and then, but now getting busy arranging things. We should be completing on the 22nd of August.

So far I have contacted a cattery to board the cats during the move, spoken to BT, ordered mail redirection. DH is in charge of contacting the removal company, letting water/gas/elec companies know, ordering bins for the house (has never had any since it was new). I feel like there's a lot I'm forgetting! Hmm

Hopefully everything will go really smoothly for you, Super! Grin

Congratulations m0ther and cosh it must be a huge relief to be at the end of this god awful system. Best of luck 👍🏻

CoshPunt · 07/08/2017 16:38

Thanks Bored! Have you heard about your buyers yet? Flowers

Boredboredboredboredbored · 07/08/2017 16:59

Had a message from my agent who has left them a message. Their solicitors have just today raised further enquiries so haven't been informed they are pulling out so fingers crossed 🙏🏻 my buyers buyers solicitor has had contract pack for 2 months and as of last week had not even raised searches or enquiries...WHY WHY WHY does it have to be so hard and crap to buy a house.

To top it off the house I'm buying has had my solicitor and theirs at stalemate over a land registry issue, I had my offer accepted mid march and conveyancing for that is still not complete.

What a shit shit system we have in this country. I despair I really do!

Boredboredboredboredbored · 07/08/2017 17:00

Cosh thank you 👀👀 see previous post 😖

Raaraaboonah · 07/08/2017 17:15

we've had tentative confirmation that our sellers have offered on somewhere (after nearly six months of looking) and their sellers are checking that the sums work on the one they want to buy. so at very least there are four of us in the chain with us at the bottom as we are renting.

god knows how many it will stretch to? i've visions of it getting to 10/15 long Shock whenever I've moved in the past it has been us then the seller and perhaps one more. can anyone reassure me that its not going to be a complete nightmare if the chain gets longer?

After nearly a year of renting we want to be in before christmas - that's not TOTALLY out of the question..... is it?

Emaboo22 · 07/08/2017 17:22

So pleased for you guys that have dates.

Still waiting to hear on mine. Everyone in chain wants to complete end of aug but still no exchange date. Argh

CoshPunt · 07/08/2017 17:24

Bored That's ridiculous.. I cannot stand it when people feel absolutely no urgency to do anything regarding moving. Why bother to buy a house or put one up for sale if you're going to dawdle and waste everyone's time?! How many is in the chain?

Raaraa That's good! 6 months of looking?! Shock Is that all whilst you'd had your offer on the table? I hope the chain doesn't end up too long for you, though!

CoshPunt · 07/08/2017 17:25

Emaboo Fingers crossed you exchange soon!

Fortheloveofscience · 07/08/2017 17:29

I'm cross already. Mortgage valuation was meant to be today on our current house, EA was meant to be giving them keys - no confirmation from them it's even gone ahead and judging from their phones the office has been empty all day. Solicitor has ignored all my emails/calls since we instructed them last week and they took £350. So frustrating!!

Raaraaboonah · 07/08/2017 18:47

Yep 6 months of our offer being on the table. It's been a long tedious time and nothing has even happened yet. We've been looking for other options but nothing has come up.

We are on the verge of changing our search area completely so we'll see what happens over the next few weeks. Fingers crossed the chain completes soon and we can crack on. We are very motivated buyers (we completed with 6 weeks on our sale last September) so I suspect we'll be pushing everything along and we'll get really frustrated by everyone else in the chain taking the piss.

tentative3 · 07/08/2017 19:03

Super could you share your paperwork list? We got a full asking price offer within 48 hours of going on the market so I'm convinced that it will now all fall apart during the actual selling process! Anything I can do to mitigate against that...

Boredboredboredboredbored · 07/08/2017 20:38

cosh the house I'm buying is deceased estate so the chain stops there then my buyers have sold to ftb. Should be simple as the one I'm buying has been going since mid march....so you'd think. Truly it's been an awful time. If I didn't HAVE to live I'd have pulled out, I've cried and lost sleep over this but I've separated from h so the house has to be sold. Poor me!!

Boredboredboredboredbored · 07/08/2017 20:40

*sell not live obviously Smile

m0therofdragons · 07/08/2017 23:15

Great news Cosh

We're in! It's been a long day with 3 lorries and 3 removal men loading but unloading was taking ages with them putting two beds together (including a nightmare high sleeper). Mid afternoon we had 6 men in the house helping and then the real issue was the dc playhouse that they were determined not to take apart as the roof felt would have to be split. We said so be it but ended up with 8 guys, along with two random men in a van who drove passed and offered to help, heaving it over the 12 foot high rear wall!

Anyway we're in and I'm back to work tomorrow. Lots of unpacking to still do but off to bed now!

Good luck everyone! Thank you for keeping me sane.

Emaboo22 · 08/08/2017 15:21

So fed up...
Was meant to exchange this week in order to complete end of aug. But now are vendors are stalling. If we dont exchange this week, our buyers cant complete til end of sept due to tenancy agreements. Trouble is im away end of september for work so cant really complete then either.
