Seems we reached 1000 messages so I've started a new one!

OP posts:
joystir59 · 12/01/2017 22:02

Chrismino thank you

nell15 · 12/01/2017 22:10

Very sorry to hear that joystir it's an extremely stressful process. Maybe they just weren't the right buyers. You never know, there might be someone who's been let down on their sale and can come into the chain and take up the paperwork etc that's already been done

joystir59 · 13/01/2017 16:59

nell15 and Chrismino thank you for your kind words. We have started having viewing so there is still hope. We are also looking into Bridging loans to try and hold onto our dream house- but that idea is quite scary. Big sighs. My OH so needs to come off 12 hour shifts including nights, and take up a different pace of life. Soon, I hope.

nell15 · 13/01/2017 18:10

Hope you get another buyer Joystick and soon. It's such an important life change I had an estate agent (not ours) say to me "it's only a house, don't get upset about it" I thought no, it's means more than that it's a chance to change your life for the better. I also thought, yes and we pay your wages, mate.

We're all waiting for our buyers buyer to get their mortgage finalised, bearing in mind that they've been in this chain since October and for some unknown reason didn't bother applying for one then

nell15 · 13/01/2017 18:11

Sorry Joystir

CampervanLady · 15/01/2017 19:46

Hello all, may I join again? I was on the 1st thread back in November. Our chain fell apart as we found out our buyers were not actually chain free. They also lied throughout the whole sale. It was horrible!

Anyway, we readvertised after Christmas. Paid off our wasted conveyancing fees and have started again. We aren't buying as we want to go into rented.

We had an offer last Thursday and hopefully, fingers crossed, this time it'll actually proceed.

Arsenic I have changed my username but I was the one who messaged you as I was worried about overlapping the tenancy before exchange of contracts. Smile

Does anybody know if our new buyer can buy the old buyers searches as they are still in date for a few weeks.

flownthecoopkiwi · 16/01/2017 11:19

I don't know about searches, worth an ask?

We are waiting to exchange. Had asked for a roof inspection on the house we are buying and it was apparently done on Friday so waiting to hear back.

Have said we will complete on 27th so fingers crossed!!!

joystir59 · 16/01/2017 11:22

CampervanLady Our buyer's buyer has withdrawn so we are back on the market, and our EA told us that when we get a new buyer they may be able to buy our previous buyers searches, so this can be done.

flownthecoopkiwi · 16/01/2017 11:36

anyone else almost physically aching with the need to move into their new house???

joystir59 · 16/01/2017 12:18

flown I was aching to get into our new house until our buyer's buyer pulled out. We now have a week to get a new buyer or our vendor will put our dream house back on the market.

flownthecoopkiwi · 16/01/2017 12:22

joystir59 oh no! Best of luck!!!

CampervanLady · 16/01/2017 12:53

joy thanks for confirming it can be done. Sorry about your news. It's heartbreaking isn't it.

There's already a glitch with our new buyer and we will find out on Wednesday if she can proceed.

joystir59 · 16/01/2017 13:38

CampervanLady I hope you get good news on Wed. This is an awful process, but we all just have to try and hold our nerve- we all all move one day and be looking back on this.

Venusflytwat · 16/01/2017 13:56

Can I join in?

We're only in a chain of 3. Cash buyer - us - empty property.

It should be sailing through but in the last ten days no one is returning my calls and I'm starting to panic a bit. Was hoping to exchange last week but no sign.

This system is shit.

nell15 · 16/01/2017 17:03

Hallelujah!!! At last!! After holding up the chain and keeping is on tenterhooks for 7weeks, our buyers buyer have finally got their mortgage and it's arrived at their solicitors this morning. Their solicitor is getting them into sign their contracts and as everyone has already signed we should be able to exchange and complete quite soon - moving by the end of next week. Fingers crossed.
I'd decided in an effort to unblock the blockage that if the mortgage details weren't in by today I was going to drive over and collect and deliver it- that s how desperate I was getting

flownthecoopkiwi · 17/01/2017 16:51

F*ck me we've exchanged!

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 17/01/2017 21:14

Yay Campervan Good to see you back here. Hopefully it will be less fraught this time.....but if not you're in good company. Our solicitor advised us there were multiple issues with the property including no right of way to our own front door. My DH said it was so concerning it sounded like a different property. Solicitor checked and guess what? The vendors solicitors sent information for the wrong bloody house! Anyway it's sorted but my god it's not simple!

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 17/01/2017 21:16

Great news flown there's hope for the rest of us yet! Grin

CampervanLady · 17/01/2017 21:57

arsenic that made me laugh out loud! What a cock up! I'm scared to be back in this situation. My conveyancer said searches have been done & all the enquiries were completed with the previous buyer so hopefully it'll process quicker with a new buyer. However - turns out our new buyer isn't mortgageable. So let's try again! 3rd time lucky etc.

Sometimes I wonder, and cry a bit that we're stuck and trapped with this sodding house. But that's just me being emotional!

flown that's brilliant!!

Nell fingers crossed for the rest of the process.

I'm hoping for some news tomorrow and then we are arranging more viewings asap.

nell15 · 20/01/2017 17:31

Well, it's been a emotional rollercoaster but today we finally exchanged and we move on 30th Jan

Twelve months of searching finally coming to an end - I feel shell shocked.

Thank you everyone who's helped me navigate the minefield that is house buying and selling.

UnlikelyRunner · 21/01/2017 16:20

Well done Nell. We are moving on 30th as well. I am now very well acquainted with the tip, determined not to take all the crap with us!

nell15 · 21/01/2017 17:28

Thanks Unlikely - glad you got there in the end. I know what you mean about the tip and I must have given bagloads to charity and friends.

GiraffesAndButterflies · 21/01/2017 20:39

Happy New Year all!

Good luck for the 30th nell and Unlikely

Camper fingers crossed for a good buyer for you soon. There ought to be lots of people looking now as it's the new year, surely the market gets better and better for the next couple of months. Hoping it's that way anyway and you get someone good!

Our vendor pulled out last week AngrySad I was utterly heartbroken and spent four days crying. However DH talked me into going to see another one, we made an offer, it was accepted, all systems go again... fuck me that was a stressful week though! So many solicitor / EA / bank etc phone calls - I'm doing all of that as DH works and I'm on mat leave- my head is spinning with it. I'm delighted with the new house though now I've come to terms with it.

Quite glad we cosleep with DS else otherwise I'd be drinking litres of gin every night GrinShock

Chrismino · 23/01/2017 17:40

Any one got any advice, they want us out next week but our house is not ready until April. Estate agents says if we don't go they pull out. We can go to parents but 2 kids a dog plus half an hour drive from schools, work, and all of our stuff would go in storage. I don't want this sale to fall through though, what would you do?

joystir59 · 23/01/2017 18:26

put your stuff in storage and go stay with parents. Just suck it up.
