Hi all, just popping in to say hi! I'm on strike til post xmas now, if by some miracle the chain is ready, it won't be till after the kids break up and I am refusing to move during the xmas holidays. As it is, February half term is looking more likely! Good luck all!

AnnaELC · 05/12/2016 22:01

small well done you! Sending you lots of luck x

Good luck small

Hope everyone gets their answers today. Still time to squeeze in a quick move before Christmas!!

nell15 · 06/12/2016 10:19

Glad some people are finally getting there. We're still waiting for the people who are our buyers buyers to get their mortgage- we thought everything was in place and we were all set for moving this Friday.

If it's after xmas - can a move be done in that time between xmas and new year - does anyone know if it's feasible?

AnnaELC · 06/12/2016 12:25

Hi nell yes apparently it can, so long as the mortgage monies have been called for in advance and all of the solicitors are working. I asked the same question yesterday.

Wow Anna congratulations!!! That's a fabulous early Christmas pressie for you!

AnnaELC · 06/12/2016 14:01

Thanks Bear I can't believe it! I'm not sure such an ultimatum is right for everyone though , I don't know how I got through the last 24 hours waiting to see what happened. DH is now frantically trying to get leave and get home to help with the last minute pack! Thank you all so much for all your support over the last 16 weeks. I wish everyone all the best and will check in to see how you are all doing. xx

I do have to say that if anyone is in a chain with PPL as a solicitor for any of the buyers - keep chasing and chasing and chasing as they are awfully slow.

CONGRATULATIONS Anna!!!

What brilliant news. How exciting!!!

nell15 · 06/12/2016 17:54

Congrats Anna

AnnaELC · 06/12/2016 22:45

Thank you all, I'm now panic packing. DH home tomorrow thank goodness.

ApplesTheHare · 07/12/2016 17:53

Anna how's the packing going?

We're hoping to exchange end of this week but I haven't heard anything encouraging so not getting too excited. Our movers work until the 23rd so it feels like it's getting close to the wire. The in-laws never agreed we could stay for Christmas but they might not have much choice at this rate!

AnnaELC · 07/12/2016 20:42

Apples keep the faith and keep chasing x Packing is ok DH got home earlier so that alleviated the stress a bit. I didn't sleep at all last night which never helps. But I am considering doing another hour or so and having a glass of wine then bed!

Hi, please can I join? We're in a chain of 4 and have just found out our buyers buyer (bottom of chain) have just been turned down for their mortgage. I should add that our first buyer pulled out after being unable to secure a mortgage so I thought that was our bad luck over and done with! EA has asked us to give them a week to recover it as our buyers desperately want our house and are devastated. We are totally in love with the house we are buying so I've shed tears over this. We were working towards an end of Jan date. Please send positive vibes! I really don't want to put our house back on the market so close to Christmas!!

smallone · 08/12/2016 18:29

Agh our vendor's Solicitors haven't answered enquiries first sent September 21st, and are holding up our sale with planning use issues. So I had gone on strike til post xmas, but now our buyer is saying they need to move by the 28th (end of rental) or she'll have to 'reconsider her position'. Is it wrong that I just want to tell her to fuck off?

smallone · 08/12/2016 18:43

Congratulations anna and good luck Wine everything seems so much worse with Christmas looming doesn't it?

Wineloffa · 08/12/2016 19:09

Thanks Smallone. I'm still annoyed about it and as you say it's all magnified because it's so close to Christmas. I really can't see them getting new buyers at this time of year.... If we lose that house, we'll probably just take our house off the market and stay put for a while. There's nothing else on the market around here that I want to buy. So disappointing..

ApplesTheHare · 09/12/2016 06:49

Small are your buyers saying they need to move by the 28th December? If so that's not much notice, I can see why you're tempted to tell them to do one! Would you consider breaking the chain? We did it a few weeks ago and it felt stressful in the run up but the moment we sold our house and were suddenly chain-free buyers ourselves felt amazing, like a real weight off.

Welcome Wine. Sending you lots of good vibes. That's such bad luck to be held back by mortgage problems both times. Has your vendor agreed to wait a week?

smallone · 09/12/2016 08:26

Yes apples we we all pushing to move before Christmas, but they never said they had to. Agree its stupidly short notice, if they had told us a month ago we could attempt to break the chain, don't know how that will happen tho, how would I get removals in the week before Christmas!? The only possible thought is to ask our vendor if we could rent til we can buy, then at least we'd only have to move once. Its an empty ex rental owned by a lettings company.

Wineloffa · 09/12/2016 09:30

Thanks Apples. We're phoning the vendor's EA this morning to let them know about the set back. I think because it's so close to Christmas and houses of that value are moving very slowly around here that they won't want to lose us either so will play ball. Here's hoping! I'll keep you posted!

Wineloffa · 09/12/2016 09:50

Update! Our EA just phoned to tell us that our buyer has just accepted another offer on their house! From FTB with mortgage agreed in principle. We're back on track!!

smallone · 09/12/2016 10:27

Great news Wine congratulations

ApplesTheHare · 09/12/2016 13:44

Great news Wine Phew!

Small they must have known they had to move sooner if it's due a tenancy ending, I wonder if they're trying it on?

This morning our vendor's solicitor suggested completing next Friday, but it turns our that the outstanding legal bit still hasn't progressed so now looks unlikely again. I can't keep up with the ups and downs!
