A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?

Not quite ready for the 'in a chain' support group (please please don't let it be too long!), but we have just put our house up for sale and are waiting for viewings. Mostly cleaning and primping and procrastinating, with occasional adrenaline bursts when the phone rings.

Anyone else in the same position wanting to share the angst?

Ooh that sounds very promising paw

Lilmisskittykat · 12/03/2017 19:54

Well two viewings booked this weekend...

One was a no show today so frustrating not had the experience of one those yet Saturday's was a nice couple but had a kid so not holding out for that one either... Another weekend lost to selling this house

Notanotherpawpatrol · 12/03/2017 21:06

Is the property a 1 bed flat? Why would having a child be a problem? I'm confused! Confused

Lilmisskittykat · 13/03/2017 12:16

Its only the feedback I have had from people who have had children. It's a two bedroom terrace and on a fairly main road straight onto the street.

We do have very good schools nearby though!

And I stand corrected as she had just been for a second viewing... so you obviously cannot predict these things!

drspouse · 13/03/2017 12:51

Just waiting for the decorator for the new place to come back to me about a time to look round!

No further feedback from last week's viewing though they are chasing.. marketing report looks like we're popular (so hmm more viewings please!)... we have a plan for our Sat viewings in place though (lunch out for the earlier one and hanging round at a friend's, who's just sold hers so is sympathetic, for the later one!)

Notanotherpawpatrol · 13/03/2017 13:14

They decided to go for a house in a slightly different area 😥 i was really hoping that was it. No more viewings in the diary, crossing everything we get more booked in this week. We still have the people who viewed last Thursday who loves it, they need to sell their house though. Urgh. I hate this selling malarkey :(

Do all take a look at my other thread here

to give me some kitchen ideas!

donkey86 · 13/03/2017 14:57

Had some feedback from our only viewer of this weekend - they think it's a lovely flat but they need somewhere with a garden. That's two out of three viewers who have rejected it for the same reason. I don't know why they bother viewing in the first place when it's quite clear from the details that there's no outside space.

EA says to give it one more week then think about changing strategy - which I'm guessing means lowering the price. I don't really want to do that but we're on a fairly tight schedule so may have to.

drspouse · 13/03/2017 16:24

I don't know why they bother viewing in the first place when it's quite clear from the details that there's no outside space.

Our friends had so many viewers and many of them wanted something different (different location, not a cul de sac, all bedrooms upstairs instead of one downstairs). She told the EA not to bother sending people that didn't want their house, in the end!

Lilmisskittykat · 13/03/2017 17:17

Donkey that's the most frustrating bit isn't it? Read.the.listing.people!

You spend all that time cleaning and sitting waiting for them to come then waiting for the verdict it's so frustrating !!

Beckyb1 · 13/03/2017 19:06

We have a viewing at 2pm tomorrow from a woman who has split from her boyfriend and has nowhere to sell and is desperate to move out. And a viewing on Wednesday afternoon. Got my fingers and toes xd!

Lilmisskittykat · 13/03/2017 23:22

More through the door the better ... Good luck X

drspouse · 14/03/2017 09:28

V promising Becky! Does unfortunate split woman have money/mortgage arranged?

Beckyb1 · 14/03/2017 10:52

I flipping well hope so drs!! 😂

Blackfellpony · 14/03/2017 10:54

Last minute viewing for us tonight...I will have about 20mins to tidy Grin

Really hope this is the one for you Becky!

drspouse · 14/03/2017 10:59

Ooh good luck with the tidying Black

Just hoping we don't have any more viewings before Sat as we are relying on the cleaner coming on Friday!
We did do the kids' washing today as DS was running out of school shirts which usually the cleaner does but we don't want it draped over the place at the weekend (new cleaner, old one came on a Weds).

Beckyb1 · 14/03/2017 11:21

Thanks blackfell!! Good luck to you too! We are due a sale on this thread I'm sure!!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 14/03/2017 11:24

Just got a viewing booked in for tomorrow :) ftb, but we have to show her around ourselves Shock I'm rubbish at this! Anyone have any tips?

HalleLouja · 14/03/2017 11:39

pawpatrol I show people round showing them where the storage is / built in appliances etc are. Let them in first if the rooms are small. Once I have shown them round I ask if they want to look themselves and that I will be downstairs if they have any questions. Seems to work ok.

Lilmisskittykat · 14/03/2017 12:35

Paw patrol I just welcome them in and just say they are free to look around.. I think for a first viewing it's about the vibe of a house no point going all out with the hard sell.

I just think that's how I'd rather do it if I was looking at another house

Housefreak · 14/03/2017 19:11

Feedback from viewer on Sunday says that house is lovely but didn't get the right vibe when they walked in.
I'm so fed up I don't think we are going to sell this house Sad

Blackfellpony · 14/03/2017 19:13

Thank you everyone. Viewing went okay but I find it really hard to tell. We've had loads and nobody ever gives feedback or wants to buy.

Feels like we will be here forever too house!

Another booked in for Saturday though so that's a positive!

Lilmisskittykat · 14/03/2017 19:15

It is so hard to tell isn't it? I've had about fifteen viewing since Jan and I've given up guessing now as you just cannot work it out..

Does drive you potty though! Think I'm single handily ramping up the right move figures watching the area and hoping to sell and move

Beckyb1 · 15/03/2017 06:24

Flowers blackfell! We will all get there. I'm sure of it. It's good your getting viewings. I'm starting to feel the same as you but keep reminding myself that we bought this house and loved it so somebody out there will too!!
