A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?

Not quite ready for the 'in a chain' support group (please please don't let it be too long!), but we have just put our house up for sale and are waiting for viewings. Mostly cleaning and primping and procrastinating, with occasional adrenaline bursts when the phone rings.

Anyone else in the same position wanting to share the angst?

No viewings and all very quiet here this weekend. Sad blackfell glad the change of ea has got more people thro the door. Good luck for Thursday.

mamaslatts We're in Leyton. Prices have shot up in the last couple of years, which I think is why the market has slowed - people used to be in a rush to buy here before it gentrified, but now it's happening (I wouldn't say it's exactly happened, it's still a bit rough around the edges) the prices are the same as other areas, so it no longer has the advantage of seeming like a really cheap deal. We're moving out of London too, but to Brighton, which has more or less east London prices these days anyway.

Yesterday I asked the agent why we hadn't had much interest, and he said it's because we don't have a garden. But he knew that from the start! Surely if it was going to be that big a deal he should have suggested a lower price accordingly.

We've had an offer today. It was 2k under our minimum acceptable price. She then has increased it to our minimum acceptable price! Can't believe it!

Curiosity would get the better of me and I would look.

If it's someone's dead pet I would re bury it, it's awful to think of someone placing it there to have it dug up and chucked out with the rubbish Sad

Thanks guys. We'll accept it tomorrow. Then we have the whole palaver of offering on the one we want. I'm nervous about it, it's been on the market for a year and is in need of some modernisation but certainly liveable in. It's EPC rating isn't great though but I imagine as it's quite an old house once we have done some work on it, it will improve.

We're lucky in that we can be no chain for our house to be sold. We have to option of moving to my dad's house for a while until our house is ready.

We have 2 viewings booked for this week, one Thursday (not in a position to proceed, needs to see a house first) and one on Saturday (cash buyer) I'm really hoping the second puts in an offer, we want a swift move!

Phew! We have a viewing on Friday. I'm going to do it (as otherwise I'll have to keep DD out for lunch), we'll give them the 5 minute tour and then I'll feed her something tidy in front of Mr Tumble and leave them to look around.

We have another viewing booked for tomorrow! Suddenly we have 3 viewings, 2 are cash buyers, one isn't ready to proceed. I'm crossing my fingers so hard we get an offer!!

We decided to take the offer which is £5k less than we wanted. But the people are willing to wait. We think we will end up staying here unless something amazing comes up. There have been some lovely ones that sold so we will see what comes up.

We have been looking at doing some work to our house and have started to get quotes.

There really isn't anything for sale we want to even look at. Not good.

We have a viewing on Saturday! My sons birthday so no doubt will be hiding birthday cards and presents minutes before they arrive!

I am planning to put all my cards from my big birthday up again when we get an offer. Or take them with us when we move. One of those.
Tidying tonight, not too painful, DH is going to hoover tomorrow night and then a bit more cleaning Friday morning.

We have a viewing tonight, our 7th in total.

Can't really be bothered to do much cleaning as nothing ever comes of it!

The most annoying thing about selling your house is all the people who come round and can't be arsed to give any feedback. Have had so many of them its unreal.

We've still only had two viewings, and I've chased the EA for feedback from both of them - it hasn't worked, though. I suppose if people don't want to give any there's not much that can be done, but it's still annoying!

Not heard back from our only viewing which was last Friday who told us they would let us know there decision by today as they were deciding between our house and another one. No further viewings booked in even the estate agents don't know why we aren't get the viewing as people looking at it have gone up 40% this week. Sad

By the way I am staying here as we haven't found anywhere to buy yet.

I thought more would be coming on the market but there was more that fit our criteria earlier this year and none now.

Viewing went okay however they are non procedable so it seemed quite pointless in the end.

I'm totally fed up now, feel like we will never get moved!
