Would anyone like an 'in a chain' support group?

Would anyone like an 'in a chain' support thread? We're selling and buying and it's so stressful!! We've found our 'dream house' and had an offer accepted, had an offer on ours within a week which was subsequently retracted. Wondered if anyone else was finding this whole process ridiculously stressful?

I'm so tired from packing today, made quite a sizeable dent in it. I can't believe how much stuff we have! I'm still managing to bin loads, done 2 runs to the tip as well.

I'm done for the day now, exhausted. No wine tonight, we have been having a few too many 'just one glass' nights and I'm feeling the effect of it now. This will hopefully be our last Sunday night in our lovely home and I feel quite sad and nostalgic now everything's looking a bit bare.

Evening all, I know what you mean bear our house is so echoey. We've packed loads and loads. I reckon we could be finished in a couple of days. I don't really want to pack much more until we exchange as I would hate to have to unpack my favourite bits and bobs. Fingers well and truly crossed for tomorrow.

NeversellahouseCollie · 06/11/2016 20:10

Yep, everything is crossed for tomorrow!

I wish everyone the best of luck for good news and progress. Kick off at 9am.

I'm pretty anxious. I can't stop Googling "mortgage offer delays" & " mortgage offer mistake delays" etc. I'm tiring myself out!

ApplesTheHare · 06/11/2016 21:43

Collie I keep doing the same. Even Google must be bored of my searches by now.

Bear I really hope you exchange tomorrow!

I'll be chasing our sodding, ridiculously delayed amended mortgage offer tomorrow morning, then the solicitors. The really frustrating thing is that DH and I booked a holiday to Iceland almost a year ago and we go in 2 days... meant to be moving on the 23rd though still no sign of exchange so I'm panicking that things will go wrong without us here to chase daily.

Good luck for tomorrow everyone, hoping we all get some good news!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/11/2016 08:17

Could be a big day in chainsville today- hope your phone calls and pestering pay off!
If we don't exchange today, heads are gonna roll.

Morning - sorry, I haven't been on over weekend! The show has taken over my head space. I have tech tonight, dress tomorrow, then it's show time!

Here is to a new week.....
Collie I hope you get news before tomorrow
Bear I have everything crossed for your exchange today!
Apples Hope your mortgage offer comes through
Tinky - I'm so pleased for you.

I am going to wait until lunchtime before calling anyone. I spoke to EA last thing on Friday, so there won't be any news first thing.

I had a message from my buyer last night, they are so so excited, meanwhile I'm looking at old EA photos to muster some enthusiasm!

NeversellahouseCollie · 07/11/2016 09:50

I have been denied contact with our buyers Confused

And nobody will chase anything for me until this afternoon.

Northumberlandlass · 07/11/2016 10:06

It must be nice to work a three day week! Tues - Thurs
So frustrating for you Collie

I've sent emails, I can't help myself. I'll call them later in the day too.

The only reason I have contact with my buyers is they are friends of friends, so we just found each other on Facebook! The town I live in, is a small place.

AnnaELC · 07/11/2016 10:17

Morning All,

Heres hoping to a better week. I am resisting sending emails, but have had one from our sellers estate agent saying she is doing a full chain update and is hoping we will exchange this week...... I will believe that when it happens. Good Luck everyone

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/11/2016 10:27

I think they all just muddle along independently and then only when they are done do they attempt to join the dots up- a whole chain update is a good idea. Hope you do manage to exchange this week Anna
We are still waiting to hear if the relevant info has got to the solicitor, although she said this morning that they are hoping still to exchange today. eA is currently on the phone so is hopefully earning her bonus getting it sorted.
The removals company turned up today, thinking we were moving. Despite that fact that we're still waiting for boxes and I told them this on Friday. How they thought we were going to be ready when they haven't given us anything to pack with yet amazes me, never mind that we haven't actually booked them yet. So a bit of stress to start the week.
I'm restless today and I am not a patient person. Going to take my 1 yo to the local garden centre to look at the Christmas displays and probably have some cake!

OK !

Update - We spoke to our buyers EA on Sat and apparently they are all good to go, they had all searches back late Friday.

Waiting on an update today - I expect we will eb delayed as it takes 7 workings days for our mortgage provider to transfer the funds so, we will probably be moving Friday 18th now, but who knows! FED UP!

NeversellahouseCollie · 07/11/2016 10:41

We have nobody to send emails to anymore. Stress like this isn't worth it

Mommasoph30 · 07/11/2016 10:45

Collie- What wankers! Excuse my french, im so frustrated on behalf of EVERYONE and I am never moving again lol X

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/11/2016 10:47

Collie surely your solicitor can contact your buyers/ sellers even if you can't? They surely can't expect you to just sit and wait it out with no communication? So frustrating! Flowers

NeversellahouseCollie · 07/11/2016 10:59

bear we asked them to chase up the buyers solicitors but they said there was no point. I told them we were paying them to do a job and they got fairly irate with me and told me the EA gets paid more so ask him to do it. They would chase via letter of course. Hmm because emails and calls don't exist in conveyancer land.

This country would come to a bloody standstill if every industry behaved like conveyancing. No business would ever get done. You need a quote? Please wait 7 days whilst my assistant types it out and posts it to you. You need an image for your website? I'll take a photo and post it to you. You need a copy of my spreadsheet? I'll print it off and send it to you.

Can you tell I'm feeling pretty stressed out? Grin

Northumberlandlass · 07/11/2016 11:04

Collie, have you dumped your estate agent? Your solicitor can contact your buyers solicitor?
Sad - it is just so so stressful.

NeversellahouseCollie · 07/11/2016 11:08

north our solicitors just won't contact anybody for us.

We didn't dump our Estate Agent but if we do it will be when we pull out completely and lose £1000 in fees SadSad

Mommasoph30 · 07/11/2016 11:15

Collie- How long has it being going on for, i would be tempted to pull out" What complete arseholes you are dealing with.

We had offer accepted August 14th and Im fast losing patience.

NeversellahouseCollie · 07/11/2016 11:29

I just phoned our solicitors to tell them that our EA said we are almost at exchange. The response was "how would your EA know though? We have had no indication from anyone that we are near exchange!"

DollyDuck · 07/11/2016 11:38

Just got off the telephone to the EA. Like talking to a brick wall. Lawyer away until tomorrow so another night of no answers. Feel the likelihood of this going through next week is bleak. Better tell DB not to worry about having us as guests. Literally the only brightside to this whole awful situation. So fed up. Hope everyone else has a better Monday.

Northumberlandlass · 07/11/2016 11:44

Collie - that is awful service from both sides. No where near exchange? Sad
Everyone seems trapped. It's such an awful feeling.
My jaw is sore from clenching it. My head is pounding.

I just want a time frame from ANYONE!

Northumberlandlass · 07/11/2016 11:47

Dolly Are you waiting for an exchange date too?
In our chain we have...

  1. FTB (currently renting with her mate who is staying in flat after she leaves - no rush)
  2. Couple buying mine - they now have sofa's being kept in warehouse as we thought it would've gone through. They are very eager.
  3. me
  4. The family of the house I am buying. It was their late parents house & it's empty.

The offers were accepted mid August, we are now heading for mid Nov Angry

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/11/2016 12:07

WE'VE EXCHANGED CONTRACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mommasoph30 · 07/11/2016 12:10

NeversellahouseCollie · 07/11/2016 12:11
