Would anyone like an 'in a chain' support group?

Would anyone like an 'in a chain' support thread? We're selling and buying and it's so stressful!! We've found our 'dream house' and had an offer accepted, had an offer on ours within a week which was subsequently retracted. Wondered if anyone else was finding this whole process ridiculously stressful?

Yes that does make more sense- I could leave him in a third full tank for a few hours then? Mil will have to fish sit as well as cat sit and child sit!

Wine. Yes definitely. For everyone.

Wine please Wine

And a take away!

I know this is really hoping for the best but if the new mortgage offer was requested on Wednesday and it takes 48 hours to be reissued then it may arrive in tomorrow's post. Am I being crazy to ask the EA to ask the buyer if it has arrived tomorrow? Do I wait until Mondays post? Blush

I am actually desperate

tinkywinkyslover · 04/11/2016 18:28

We've exchanged! Will move in a couple of weeks! Phew! Now just gotta pack the house up with kids and jobs.

Took us 7 weeks from offer to exchange (9 including completion)

I think my solicitor is glad to get rid of me. I was constantly badgering him!!

NeversellahouseCollie · 04/11/2016 18:31

tinky oh I am so envious but congratulations!! Enjoy :)

tinkywinkyslover · 04/11/2016 18:34

Thanks, it's going to be wine o' clock when the kids are in bed!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/11/2016 21:12

Congratulations tink I am very jealous!

Just checking in and gutted to see collie and bear still waiting. We are properly in the rental now and just waiting for our mortgage offer to be confirmed before we start the joyful process! Completion is next Friday. Our friends sellers are moving the goalposts and they're having a very stressful time. There should be a nice buyer/seller code as there seems to be lots of twatty behaviour around!

ApplesTheHare · 05/11/2016 06:17

Congratulations tinky Lovely to hear that it is actually possible! Hopefully you get a slightly less stressful couple of weeks in which to sort everything out.

Collie who's the mortgage with? We're sticking with Nationwide because we've been with them for ages but they've been worse than slow at getting everything out. At every stage of the process it's taken triple the time they've given to do something Sad I'm not going to use them again when it comes to remortgaging because it's been so stressful.

NeversellahouseCollie · 05/11/2016 07:43

arsenic I keep thinking of you whenever I think of signing the tenancy before exchange of contracts! Its terrifying and risky but I gotta do it. Thanks for checking in on us Flowers my sister bought a house abroad recently and both buyer/seller had to lodge a small deposit to show they were serious and they had to sign a "code of conduct".
It was all done and finished within 4 weeks with no messing about.

Apples we believe they're with Lloyd's Sad

tinkywinkyslover · 05/11/2016 12:14

Thing is I'm now worried about cyber fraud on completion day. Some people close to me are currently fighting to get back a lot of money back as a solicitors abroad received an email stating that my friends' account had changed. Well you can guess the rest!

Has anyone heard of this happening in the U.K.?

I'm just so

tinkywinkyslover · 05/11/2016 12:15

don't know what that bit at the end is!

smallone · 05/11/2016 16:25

bear re fish, yes should be fine, when I was a kid my dad used to stick ours in a tupperware in a couple of inches of water overnight while he cleaned the tank and got the water back up to temperature. None of the tank cycling stuff we do these days Grin

smallone · 05/11/2016 16:29

I have no news. Can't face chasing anyone yet now we are back at the beginning again. I am opting for fingers in ears lalalaaaing!

NeversellahouseCollie · 05/11/2016 16:40

I have been packing but feel a bit stupid for doing so Blush

smallone · 05/11/2016 20:32

I've been packing for months Collie There's boxes everywhere! I ve packed all non essential kitchen things, so I can now only drink wine in tumblers Grin I've packed the breakables in small boxes so put them back on the cupboard shelves, boxed up appliances etc. Dh works away all the bastard time so never knows where anything is when he comes home!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/11/2016 06:27

We packed a fair bit yesterday but somehow haven't really made a dent in it. Garage and garden/play room now completely packed. Our dining room is becoming our box room. We really need to get some proper boxes as the only place we can get them for free is home base -8 miles away! Our movers promised us some but as yet haven't delivered.
We went out last night, woke this morning with a thumping head which isn't like me really, and now cannot sleep.
Small I cannot believe you are moving, and yet class wine glasses as non essential items.!!!
Have a good day everyone, more of the same here- boxes boxes everywhere!

NeversellahouseCollie · 06/11/2016 08:01

We need to get more boxes and finish kitcheny stuff this morning. I feel absolutely sick with worry though. I just have such a bad feeling about the whole chain!

Sad
AnnaELC · 06/11/2016 08:20

Morning all! I did a load of packing yesterday, same as you bear not made a dent in it. collie chin up, I feel exactly the same but today I'm ignoring that awful feeling I have. Hopefully, we should have news this week (but who knows)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/11/2016 09:10

Collie I know that feeling. I think it's partly a reaction to the ongoing stress, I feel myself almost rattling sometimes with anxiety. I was finding it really hard to decide what I needed and what could be packed and it was really counter productive. Even now I'm looking around feeling anxious about how much I need to do, and yet can't actually do anything yet. I'm just thinking one box at a time.

OP posts:
NeversellahouseCollie · 06/11/2016 12:42

We better exchange this week else it's over. It's as simple as that. Sad

AnnaELC · 06/11/2016 13:15

collie I feel exactly the same way, I had a right rant at everyone involved last week and at last (I think) we our buyer is ready, I have everything crossed that we all have a better week next week. I can't cope with another one like last week!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/11/2016 13:43

Good luck both Flowers
I'm bracing myself for impact this week. Should be exchanging tomorrow - first need to ring solicitor and find out what they are waiting for, then ring EA and basically make it her problem- someone needs to get that final thing in place by lunchtime tomorrow, so we can exchanged by the afternoon.
I've gone proper packing mad this afternoon, boxing up the kids bedroom which I was reluctant to do without exchange.
We have always got our buyers' impending homelessness to drive us forward to Friday 11th, as I think we will complete then no matter what- but I am not faffing around all week and exchanging Thursday, or God forbid, Friday. So I'm gonna kick some ass tomorrow!!

OP posts:
AnnaELC · 06/11/2016 13:51

Good luck for tomorrow bear I've been packing this morning - all the shelves are done and packed, I'm just about to start the really fragile things that I think I will take in my car. DH is home next week so really pleased he will be here to get in my way help Hmm. First thing tomorrow is a call to my EA to make sure she knows I'm not messing around this week.

NeversellahouseCollie · 06/11/2016 14:33

Me three! I'm going to harrass EA from 9am

bear I also won't pack DS's room until exchange but I'm fearing I may not have a choice.

smallone · 06/11/2016 16:12

Ha bear it just gives me an excuse to drink wine by the half pint Wink

Taking the opportunity to have a good cull in the hats, coats, shoes etc understairs cupboard today. Might have a good blitz of the filing cabinet tomorrow... Joyful
