Hi, I know there's a sellers' thread, and a buyers' thread, but I am knee deep in trying to do both at the same time and starting to feel like my head might explode and not sure which thread to visit to beg for someone to send Wine Anyone else?!

OP posts:

Hey Gobbolin, I'm sure the right thing will come up soon. Is your house on the market now?

puggymummy1 · 03/06/2016 12:16

Sorry for double posting. Dodgy wifi

puggymummy1 · 03/06/2016 12:57

DH already having doubts about eco house. He's like Eeyore!

puggymummy1 · 03/06/2016 13:55

We have accepted the offer on our house and have removed it from the market. I have also got my solicitor sorted. Just need to buy a house. Can't believe I am conducting major affairs from a sunlounger!

puggymummy1 · 03/06/2016 16:33

Sorry for monopolising the thread. We also had a full asking price offer today from someone who hasn't sold or viewed. As tempting as it sounds, I felt it too risky. Also the house we are second viewing had an offer but very low.

Mummyme87 · 03/06/2016 18:00

Still getting questions about parking... Size of parking space we rent, does our car fit in it 🤔
Also have been having mortgage application paperwork issues. Bloody banks and online statements. Our broker said I needed a second proof of address which would be bank statement but it has to be original..not printed from online even though they look exactly the bloody same (bar a barcode and random long number on it)!!!! Requested statement last week, chased it up last night and apparently it wasn't sent via post only to online account 🙄 So sent another. I call broker and speak to someone else, turns out I don't need a second proof of address as my mortgage provider changed their policy recently. Then I get home tonight and the statement has in fact been sent out to me but it is literally what I would have printed from online banking but they have sent it in black and white 😡😡😡 WTVF?!?!? Now this has rolled into another month I need the whole of Mays transactions FAFS. This is ridiculous. I'm so over this.

HuckleberryGin · 03/06/2016 19:41

Oh God, the mortgage application last time nearly finished me off! Our mortgage is with same bank as our accounts (although gone through broker) and they wanted our February bank statements before the end of February! And wouldn't accept the statements we sent them! Bonkers!

We had an offer accepted on a house we saw this morning! It's more than the last house (DH has a new job), but it does mean having to do the mortgage application process again- ARGH! Also worried as we haven't been as careful with money the last few months, plus a weekend away and loads of birthdays. Hopefully will go through.

puggymummy1 · 03/06/2016 19:58

Am dreading the mortgage application as we have a huge credit card bill.

HuckleberryGin · 04/06/2016 14:51

Are there lots of chain collapses near us. Another house gone back on the market today that had sold. I'd this the same where you guys are?

puggymummy1 · 04/06/2016 15:55

We have just viewed a chain collapse and are going to view eco house now. I loved the one I've just seen but it needs so much work and the idea was to down mortgage. Also, my house is being stalked today. Once by the old man who knocked for a brochure and another car parked outside and got out and had a really good nose! Argh.

puggymummy1 · 04/06/2016 18:23

Well, the kids want to live in eco house. We spent over an hour and a half with the vendor! Oops! We will offer on Monday.

puggymummy1 · 06/06/2016 17:30

Have offered on eco house. Surprise, there was suddenly a higher price on the table! I've increased my offer slightly and am awaiting to hear back.

whois · 06/06/2016 17:42

I have viewed several properties where they are suddenly back on the market due to chain collapse but I don't know if that is an increase over the norm of it there are always plenty of chain collapses.

Good luck on the Eco House puggymummy1

I put an offer in on something today - aparently there are several offers higher than mine so I can but wait and see. I don't need to sell so I think that is attractive more than an few extra k hopefully.

FINGERS CROSSED

whois · 06/06/2016 17:43

Is it not cool to stak houses? I often go case out the house to see if it is worth a viewing - can find out external repair / road noise / train track noise / needle exchnage opposite issues that you can't see from the brochure!

puggymummy1 · 06/06/2016 17:49

Oh, I'm a stalker but am discreet Wink

Mummyme87 · 06/06/2016 18:02

I always go and have a look at the street, area, upkeep or houses before viewing. But discreetly.

So.. Hopefully final paperwork for mortgage application was received at brokers today. Our homebuy process is going through (redemption by selling), and should be good to start completion process by 24th June based on that.fingers crossed mortgage moves quick and everyone else is running smoothly. Had sellers EA on asking about our mortgage surveyor.

Selling and buying is bloody horrendous

puggymummy1 · 06/06/2016 18:13

It is horrendous. I just want them to accept our offer so we can crack on! The sooner we exchange the better.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 06/06/2016 19:34

Oh puggy - that is crap. I am highly suspicious. Legally you can insist on seeing evidence of another offer. Obviously that's the nuclear option but worth knowing it's in your arsenal.

I am quite an obvious stalker as I'm the woman with the double pram and buggy board Grin

We're not in the market yet as can't find anything. We've been told by the agents that they could sell the house very quickly so hoping that would be right. I'm going to get an agent to do particulars though.

The house we saw on Friday was lovely but not materially bigger than ours so DH said no Sad

puggymummy1 · 06/06/2016 19:57

They're making me sweat I reckon. They'll have a shock when I don't play ball.

HuckleberryGin · 06/06/2016 22:10

When we offered on ours they gave me an amount they wanted and said they'd include the carpets and blinds. Who doesn't leave the carpets?? They aren't even great condition!

whois · 06/06/2016 23:51

When my friend was buying the seller was like "oh, its another £1k for the carpets"! She was upset and was going to pay (as it would have been more than £1k to recarpet the entire house) but her DH played hard ball and told her to take them, they didn;t have another £1k... Vendor left them. They weren't even nice! I mean, what are you going to do - cut up the carpet and take it with you to your new differnetly sixed house? Strange.

puggymummy1 · 07/06/2016 11:06

I'm growing impatient waiting for the EA to come back to me about our increased offer! I strongly suspect they are trying to extort a higher offer from the other party although apparently they had already ordered their maximum.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 07/06/2016 11:17

puggy - is there a time limit on your offer?

I'd be minded to call the agents and attach a 24 hour limit for acceptance. You can always re-offer at a later stage but if your offer is just sitting on the table, then you're a sure bet whereas you want to cause the vendor to worry that playing games could end up with it being withdrawn. Apols if you have already done this!

puggymummy1 · 07/06/2016 11:22

I didn't specify a time limit but have said I don't want game playing. I've bought through them before, so they know I don't play games and am reliable. I'm going to sit it out and hold my nerve today.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 07/06/2016 11:32

Lots of luck Flowers. I think it's good you spent lots of time with the vendor
