We are looking to have our kitchen/diner done next year. We will need building work completed first, so I am trying to figure out what company we want to use and how we want the room to look.

I keep reading kitchen threads on here but there are no photos, I neeeeed photos please

This is the before shot! So bad it was appalling. We never lived there like this by the way.

And this is a photo from when it was just done (but we had no electric lighting when the picture was taken and it was mid-Winter, so it's a bit dark)

Everyone has such nice kitchens! Ours is being redone at the moment and this thread makes me really excited to think this'll be us too soon! Previous one 35 years old, SO badly planned and gradually falling to pieces.
Am also studying everyone's flooring choices too as we need to make that decision this week. Builder's opinion that same throughout will look much better whereas we were thinking wipeable in the kitchen and dining area and carpet in the "lounge" area (even though the split isn't obvious - it'd be a way of defining the area).

kiwi I actually like your before shot! Very retro.

I think the after one is lovely too though, is it IKEA? Looks like the style we are looking at.

Just had ours done and I love it but the kitchens on this thread kind of put it to shame now!

This is what it replaced though so anything was going to look amazing after.

I love all the modern minimal kitchens, but can never make it work.

I'm doing up my kitchen furniture in cream and oak so it matches my kitchen and want to get a rack above my breakfast bar.

One more..

hulababy - that's very exciting as I was looking at the Howdens kitchens so it's good to know I'm consistent in what I like! Think I'll get a Howdens designer round.
