Dream house has come up for sale!!

My dream house has come up for sale. Been to see it and am seriously in love. We are in a good position as ours is under offer etc

Only problem is that DH is away with work (abroad) for another 2.5 weeks.
I've sent him the details and he wants to view before making an offer. Argh.

House is beyond stunning. It's even been in an interiors magazine. I think they've had lots of viewings and I think it will sell quickly.

I am literally beside myself. What do I do?? Do I talk to agent and explain about DH and that if he likes it then we will be offering?
I've tried to persuade DH but he doesn't feel ok with offering until he has seen it.

Any advice please??

Lawn Road is a bit of a funny mix of blocks of flats and houses. We looked at a similar house there a few years ago but it just feels a funny road.

There is a nice 4 bed on in Scott's Avenue at the moment - it's much smaller than the others but looks a great house on a nice road (with a few other St Christophers families on the road). Backs onto a school though so not sure what the effect of that would be? Might be too small but worth a look?

These houses are near me!

Kings hall road has nice houses but only a handful of detached.

Iggly · 28/10/2014 21:43

Have just checked. The one detached house for sale has now gone! They rarely come up for sale unhelpful

Oh special, I am sorry the house has gone under offer and you are so upset.
However, IMO based on experience it may well be a blessing.
Having said that, if you are as keen as you sound I would badger the estate agent mercilessly over the coming weeks. Make sure they know you can move fast and have funds available immediately. Keep badgering throughout the sale process as the other people who may not in the end go through with it, they may not get their funds, their own house sale may collapse etc or they may simply get cold feet. Loads of offers fall over within weeks.

Hopefully you may still be able to salvage it.
If not, remember it wasn't meant for you, and you won't have to put up with an east facing garden, a spooky wall-face peering down on you while you sleep, neighbours through the wall and shared responsibility for a private road for which the other parties may not want to pay to upkeep causing legal battles snd stress.
I've been there, and something better is usually just around the corner. Keep looking. Chin up and good luck!

That Bromley Rd house has 'good bones' but crikey does it need work - awful secondary glazing for a start. The garden looks lovely though.

Have you seen 'your' house is back on the market Special? I'm sure the agents would have called you but just in case!

Archduke · 28/12/2014 21:41

poppet131 · 29/12/2014 00:04

Is this the one? I think it's back on the market. Good luck :-)
