I am proud to present my first slightly dodgy Rightmove find on MN Grin it looks so normal from the outside, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors Hmm

That Rushden house is amazing!

FatherReboolaConundrum · 28/08/2012 10:56

Do I win with this one ?

Argh, curse you VegemiteSandwich! Was reading this thread feeling smug because I thought I had a winning entry but you beat me to it. That house has been on the market for over a year and I don't think they've dropped the price at all. I'd love to know what the EA is telling them - they can't really say "look, the market for Mafia chic, million pound houses in East Anglia that Martin Scorsese would have dismissed as too OTT for Goodfellas is pretty small - in fact, it probably consists of you and no-one else".

hippocritt (love the name BTW), it's probably being bought by a tv company for some reality show.

FunnyOldExQuestion · 28/08/2012 11:05

Well, it's location, location, location that matters.

Anything else can be put right with time and money.

I like the way they have married Swiss Pine Cladding ( celings), continental tiling, and Tudor leaded windows.

Nice. Shock

saintlyjimjams · 28/08/2012 11:10

Does the Rushden one have an oil painting on the ceiling??

And in a normal street. That house is mad!

foofooyeah · 28/08/2012 11:19

On the Rushden one I find it very odd that the garage is outside of the gates!

DizzyBeeisSchoolShoeShopping · 28/08/2012 11:20

How do you all find these unusual (!) houses? I have visions of there being a website for dodgy houses on Right Move!

MrsMarigold · 28/08/2012 11:22

Apart from the weird sinking one - the others just need some minor decorative work.

Our house is in need of some quite heavy decorative work. We have some shockers mustard walls in our bedroom, a yellow kitchen with units so old the architect said he'd never seen such an antiquated kitchen etc. Although the irony is in photos our house looks bloody amazing and like it's jumped out of an interiors magazine.

VegemiteSandwich · 28/08/2012 12:34

fatherreboolaconundrum did you see that it is now ALSO on with fine and country? Yes, I'm wondering when the estate agent is just going to suggest they cover the walls with magnolia and be done with it! The thing is, I do suspect that it's done "properly" - the kitchen would probably be fine with a new ceiling and new cupboard doors (can you tell I've put some thought into this!!).

Does anyone remember the swish house somewhere in London that had a pink sex saddle plinth thingy with stirrups attached in the bedroom photo? There was a thread about it earlier this year.

Zhaghzhagh · 28/08/2012 13:06

I love that Wirral house - the furniture is gorgeous too.

Zhaghzhagh · 28/08/2012 13:09

Rushden Hall Smile

FatherReboolaConundrum · 28/08/2012 13:59

Yes, I did, VegemiteSandwich, and was highly entertained by it - the reason that no-one has stumped up £1.1 million for that house is so obviously that the original EA isn't doing their job Grin. Yes, the house itself is fine, though I wouldn't pay that much for it, even if I had the cash - but then I suspect they're trying to recover some of the cost of the gold paint.

Missed the other thread - will have to search for it now...

TheDailyWail · 28/08/2012 16:46

You have to admire the owner for making that house so grand! I'd buy itfor the staircase.

Pickles77 · 28/08/2012 16:54

Is the rushden house misadvertised, seems really cheap?

ouryve · 28/08/2012 16:58

My eyes!

And even the lawn is stripey!

I have a strong astigmatism - I'd probably go blind in there. It's hard enough when someone wears a stripey t-shirt without being surrounded by them!

maybeIwillmaybeIwont · 28/08/2012 22:01

Pickles

no, that would be a slightly higher price for that road, the average price is about £215,000.

East Midlands/East Anglia, you get a lot for your money, perhaps more than you want Smile. It will be interesting to see how much it eventually sells for Wink
