I am proud to present my first slightly dodgy Rightmove find on MN Grin it looks so normal from the outside, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors Hmm

A Norwegian who is pining for the fjords. And who has a parrot, who may or may not have ceased to be.

TheDailyWail · 27/08/2012 22:28

I've noticed a lot of the horrible ones have the same kitchen as my very first house. The dark wood one which usually has beige tiled work tops and walls with pictures of fruit and veg on them. (see the £1m Chigwell bungalow for reference)

I didn't shed any tears when that kitchen was ripped out!

strange bungalow:

sorry!

GetOrfMoiUsain · 27/08/2012 22:32

The bed in page 8 of that bungalow in Wychbold (where is that?) looks like it has a corpse in it.

Strange decor but lovely outside space and surroundings.

DizzyBeeisSchoolShoeShopping · 27/08/2012 22:35

Must have been whoever occupied the now empty bedroom!

TheDailyWail · 27/08/2012 22:35

My sister told me about one of her friends putting in an offer on a dump of a house down her road. I knew exactly whIch one she was talking about because I'd been nosing about on rightmove.

She said that one of the boys lodging in the house was in bed watching tv while they looked around . The next door neighbours offered them a cuppa - I think they were probably a bit desperate to get new neighbours.

VegemiteSandwich · 27/08/2012 22:49

Do I win with this one ?

Mind you, if we had the money (plus a bit extra for redecorating Grin ) I would really love to have it!

DizzyBeeisSchoolShoeShopping · 27/08/2012 22:52

Blimey, picture 8 - the man in the room!! lol
you win...
I'd love it too

saintlyjimjams · 27/08/2012 22:57

I spent ages trying to decide whether the man was real

WetAugust · 27/08/2012 22:57

Some of these a just glitz-tastic

maybeIwillmaybeIwont · 27/08/2012 23:03

Here's a beauty, a bit understated for me!

saintly, me too!
maybe, I think you could be right...love the staircase though.

GetOrfMoiUsain · 27/08/2012 23:05

maybe that house in Rushden - bloody hell! It is quite charming in its way, would love to meet the person who owned it.

hippoCritt · 27/08/2012 23:13

Rushden is under offer

WetAugust · 27/08/2012 23:13

Rushden wins! The house was only built in 1989!

maybeIwillmaybeIwont · 27/08/2012 23:16

GetOrf, isn't it something else? The amount of detail is amazing and it just sits in an ordinary suburban no-through road with a mixture of semi and small detached houses.

I wonder if the new owners are buying any of the paintings and furniture or just going to Ikea Wink!

missyb890 · 27/08/2012 23:17

The first house with all the wood paneling sooo reminds me of my fathers horrid house!

SiriusStar · 27/08/2012 23:18

If that's what happens to you if you have loadsamoney, I am happy as I am. Oh my. My eyebrows have disappeared.

marriedinwhite · 27/08/2012 23:30

I cannot imagine who would do up a house like the Rushden one. A newly built stately home wouldn't be decorated like that I don't think.

I am a bit Shock though. I am sitting in a chair just like that buttoned leather tanned one in the third picture though (red room). It does have stuffing coming out of the arms and have just reassured myself there are some old woodworm holes in the feet. Reminds self to have them (a pair Blush recovered and updated a bit.

Reassured to glance round room at dd sprawled on sofa with throw half on the floor and some nice, plain cream walls that could do with a freshen up.

JustSpiro · 27/08/2012 23:33

There are several houses on this thread that appear on my in-laws 'dream home' list Confused!

MarthasHarbour · 28/08/2012 09:12

maybe i am humbled by your choice, perhaps you should purchase this stately home and invite us all round for cucumber sandwiches Wink

maybeIwillmaybeIwont · 28/08/2012 10:10

Martha I would, but somebody has beaten me to it, it's under offer! Damn and blast!!!

Just shows you that you don't always have to declutter or 'remove your personality' Wink
