We're just about to start re-decorating and being faced with the massivvvve choice on the F&B colour card I'm wondering what other people have plumped for (and for which room)?

Any colours that have proved disappointing once on the wall?

It was Christmas, BTW, I don't usually have random stuff dangling from the kitchen walls!

KristinaM · 09/09/2010 06:49

that's amazing, our kitchens are so similar! what great taste you have Grin and i love the runner on your stairs - is it Roger Oates?

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 09:52

NoThank you! No, it's sisal and it's made by Kersaint someone-or-other? Anyway, all their stair runners are beautiul, it was so hard picking a colour as they were all so yummy!

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 09:53

Sorry I meant 'thank you', not 'No thank you'.Confused

We painted the hallway in our old London flat in really quite a dark green - Calke Green? (surely it can't have been Minster, but it was dark). It looked fantastic.

Can't get Farrow and Ball over here, but we used Dulux Georgian Grey for the kitchen, and it looks good (very similar to FN's units).

I love your stair runner, too.

NotanOtter · 09/09/2010 19:45

fellatio your house looks lovely and a lot of it looks ODDLY similar to mine ( in build I mean)

The stair runner IS fab and I am really liking the photographs ABOVE the door architrave...

Is your hall PB white ??

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 20:46

The hall is F&B White Tie with Old White on the woodwork. The photos above the door are just black and white portraits of my son!

Want to see some more? (I'm struggling between coy and proud now. Proud is winning!!!)

NotanOtter · 09/09/2010 20:47

more more more!!! My hall way is newly plastered with half stripped stairs ughhh - please enthuse and inspire me!

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 20:48

Oh, ok, if you insist.Hmm Honestly the things I do for an easy life...

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 20:55

I may be gone a while...

NotanOtter · 09/09/2010 20:57

oooh goody!

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 22:17

I've put a few more on, but I'm getting cross because I keep losing the ones I want. Too much wine no doubt. And they don't look nearly as good on here as they do on my photo files - all squat and a bit fuzzy! Anyway, there you are!

NotanOtter · 09/09/2010 22:23

wow it is truly lovely
is your hall mosaic tiled but with a rug over?

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 22:23

Yes.

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 22:25

And thank you!

NotanOtter · 09/09/2010 22:33

your whole home looks heavenly

my hall IS very similar - is your house early victorian 1875-85?

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 22:37

WOW = spot on! First brick was laid in 1870! I know this because it is the old vicarage, and it says so in our village booklet!

MollieO · 09/09/2010 22:45

We used F&B colours but mixed up using trade paint. White Tie and Orangerie in our live-in kitchen. Very happy with both.

NotanOtter · 09/09/2010 22:52

OMG fellatio! My house was first SOLD in i think 1875 and guess what the name is??????

FellatioNelson · 09/09/2010 22:52

Orangerie? Orangerie? How did I miss this one? Describe it to me please. I haven't painted anything in a good few months and I live in fear of them inventing another colour without telling me.

MollieO · 09/09/2010 23:42

[http://www.farrow-ball.com/orangery/colours//fcp-product/100070 Here]] although spelt Orangery' Blush.

Not a new colour. We have it on one large wall in a very bright, sunny room (one wall is floor to ceiling glass) and it looks lovely. A very soft subtle orange imo.

MollieO · 09/09/2010 23:43

product/100070 Here

MollieO · 09/09/2010 23:45

I will get this link to work!

KristinaM · 10/09/2010 07:43

ah ha, that explains a lot. our house was also built at the same time - 1872-1880

but its not a vicarage Smile

BudaisintheZONE · 10/09/2010 09:42

Loving this thread! Lots of difficult choices inspiration!

We are in process of planning what to do to house we have bought in Somerset (currently live in Hungary but moving back next summer). The house is Edwardian. Knocking down some add-ons and knocking out back stairs and larder and building out a bit to get a large open plan kitchen/dining area. Haven't quite gotten to paint colours yet - still waiting for plans from architect and have yet to decide on kitchen. But having lived in rented houses for the best part of 20 years I am SO excited about redecorating to MY choice. Well. DH's as well unfortunately.

This thread has inspired me to order the F&B brochure so I can start planning.

KristinaM and FellatioNelson - love both your kitchens. And Fellatio - I also love your stair runner.
