We're just about to start re-decorating and being faced with the massivvvve choice on the F&B colour card I'm wondering what other people have plumped for (and for which room)?

Any colours that have proved disappointing once on the wall?

I love Stone White - it's a really beautiful pale olive green. Lovely lovely. But we're moving so I'm going to have a look at elephant's breath because it's such a fab name

KristinaM · 08/09/2010 20:28

i have Light Blue in my kitchen ( photos on profile)

MarshaBrady · 08/09/2010 20:37

Ok am looking at the ol' chart.

Oh my at Brinjal, very nice! Which room was that in?

Anyone used Pale Hound? We are a chappell green / off-white / pale powder type house. I need a new colour for ds' room. But don't really want blue.

tassisssss · 08/09/2010 20:38

we have String in our dining room after agonising over beigey/cream shades! I love it!

saltyseadog · 08/09/2010 20:47

Wow Kristina - your kitchen is beautiful! Envy

Your kitchen looks lovely KristinaM! (the not blue was unrelated and a x-post)

Parma Gray in sitting room

Teresa's Green in kitchen/dining room

Citron in hall

Lamproom gray in bedroom

Love them all!

Hall: White tie on walls with Old White on paintwork.

Front and back door: Castle Room Gray (it's actually green, and gorgeous.)

Spare room, Lime white on paintwork, String on walls, which can look quite green depending on the light.

North facing dark little library/sitting room: Light blue. disaster. Lovely colour but very cold and drab for the aspect, and consequently a depressing room to sit in. I need to change it.

Kitchen and boot room: Off-white on walls, pointing on woodwork, and kitchen cabinetry is Blue-Gray (which is actually the perfect blue/green)

Off White is a really beautiful pale limestone colour which can look warm or cool, with overtones of grey, cream, green, or stone, depending on the light and the time of day.

My pantry is in Matchstick, purely beacuse I had a bit left over from a previous room, which has since been changed. It's very nice, especially for a country house.

My bedroom and my dining room/conservatory are both Shaded White, which I LOVE. Very pale mushroom grey. The bedroom has slipper satin on the woodwork and the conservatory wood is in a Dulux copy of French Gray, which is very disappointing, but I can't afford to do it again.

Drawing room is in Cream (which is actually a pale, slightly ochre yellow) lovely in the evening but a bit too lemony in daylight for me. But it's an evening room so no matter. With pointing on the woodwork.

My friend had Parma Gray and it is actually very blue.

DukesOfTripHazard · 08/09/2010 21:04

I have a Light Blue front door. It looks a little bit green and a little bit more grey. It's lovely.

FellatioNelson · 08/09/2010 21:08

Kristina your kitchen looks like mine in reverse! Very similar in style, and layout, cream Aga, black granite on main worktops, wood top on the island, but I've got blue/green on cabinets and a creamy off white on the walls!

KristinaM · 08/09/2010 21:11

oh please post a photo Smile

NotanOtter · 08/09/2010 21:14

kitchen units shaded white

bathroom panelling blackened

My two faves!

KristinaM · 08/09/2010 21:16

really Notanotter? i thought you would NEVER finish that kitchen Wink

BCBG · 08/09/2010 21:16

We have Cornforth White in master bedroom, Shaded White in drawing room, Hay in Music room, Cord in dining room and billiard room (sorry but is large old Victorian house so not poncetastic at allSmile, ringwold ground in inglenook sitting room ( lovely deep cream that doesn't go yellow) and all woodwork is Pointing. Only disappointment was Slipper Satin which didn't work on rooms of this scale.

NotanOtter · 08/09/2010 21:19

lol Kristina I am a perfectionist - so annoying

'playroom' is pelt

front door and gates lichen

FellatioNelson · 08/09/2010 21:28

Not sure if it's within my technical capabilities and DH is not here. What do I do? Talk me through it a bit! Confused

KristinaM · 08/09/2010 21:46

find a suitable photo in a folder on your PC

email it to yourself. if you right click you might get an option to " sent to mail recipient"

open email and save photo to your desktop

go to your profile and upload it

I am not technical at all so there is probably a much easier way to do it.

CarmelitaMiggs · 08/09/2010 22:03

Pointing almost everywhere

Brinjal in the fireplace recesses

Lichen on front door

We used to have Lulworth blue in the study -- much too cold, though it's a bright sunny room. It's Bone now, works much better

I looked for ages for the right blue-green/robins egg colour for kitchen units, but no F&B tester pots quite right. Dulux came up trumps

NotanOtter · 08/09/2010 22:09

good front door choice carmelita

pointing big favourite here too

FellatioNelson · 08/09/2010 22:15

bloody love F&B and never been disappointed. Think P&Ds can be sniffy about it, as it often takes an extra coat and therefore hard work.

LOVE Dorset Cream (hall/landing) warm and buttery. Tallow and House White and Borrowed light (pale blue) lovely bedroom colours. Used Dimity in playroom, Red earth in kitchen, green blue on front door, Archive and Slipper satin on woodwork (all the matchboarding) in bathroom... all lovely lovely lovely...

have just moved house - miss them all :(

FellatioNelson · 08/09/2010 22:32

Damn! Can't find the frigging kitchen pictures. Angry My DH has fiddled with all the files and I can't see them. Want one of the 'Cream' drawing room instead? or the dog? or the veg patch? Grin

FellatioNelson · 08/09/2010 22:42

OK, found them. Just got to work out how to put them on now.Confused

FellatioNelson · 08/09/2010 22:54

Yay! Did it! And you get a couple of bonus pics of the hall as well. Grin
