Free hamper?

Was looking to buy an Italian hamper, and came across this site where several of the hampers are showing up as price zero. That can't be right can it? Is it worth ordering one just to see if it actually turns up? Assuming it's a mistake, are they obliged to sell at the listed price?

oops!

from their t an c

Your order represents an offer to us to purchase products or services which is accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you that we have despatched that product to you (the "Despatch Confirmation E-mail"). That acceptance will be complete at the time we send the Despatch Confirmation E-mail to you.

so no they wont be obliged to sell it

thisisyesterday · 30/11/2008 19:52

hmm but I bet that all happens automatically so you could get the e-mail even though no-one has noticed.

flowerybeanbag · 30/11/2008 19:53

I have ordered one. Worth a go! If it doesn't turn up then so be it, but you don't lose anything by trying it.

stinkymonkey · 30/11/2008 19:54

I started to put in an order, and both the hamper and the p&p were showing up as zero. But then I chickened out when it came to adding in my details.

Me too.
Didn't want to put my details in.
Will be watching with interest.

DH reckons that there has been no bottom limit set when doing their website pricing, so the hampers have been reduced but the website did not know when to stop so it has gone to 0.

He says this happened on E-buyer when he saw a laptop for £4.00. He tried to order it, but on doing so he got an e-mail saying it was out of stock. Says this is what will happen with the hampers.

thisisyesterday · 30/11/2008 19:59

hehe i am v tempted, although, not sure we'll use the stuff when it comes.
maybe I can give it to someone for christmas?

is it worth doing if I don't really want it??

GooberKingWenceslas · 30/11/2008 20:00

DH says that it is probably out of stock, thus the 0000 price.

NCbirdy · 30/11/2008 20:34

It means ou don;t give the actual company your debit card details so they can't clone it or anything.
