What time should you know of your child has got into chosen primary school?

As title says, is there a set time? Or are all councils different? This is all new to be an I am very eager and anxious to know !

I'm going to try and log into online portal at midnight 😅 but I think I'll be getting my hopes up by doing this

Mine came through about 3am, others came through at different times in the night. Not sure if it’s alphabetical in how it’s released

If you're in the pan-London area (any London borough plus Surrey) then it's 5pm - goes live on the website then, and they start emailing (goes out in batches, takes a while to get through all of them but should be some time that evening)

Other LAs set their own times

Each area is different.

London says 5pm, but when I did this 2 years ago it was update on the portal at 4pm.

Depends where you are. 2 years ago I logged in just after midnight and it was there.

Tomorrow I will be doing it as soon as I am awake enough to read properly 😁

Definitely depends. We're in Hertfordshire and the email comes through after 12pm. The online portal isn't updated until all emails have been sent.

With my older 2 it was around 9am. I’m a nervous wreck waiting for the email for my youngest, she’s already at school nursery so thinks of it as ‘her school’ so will be awful if she doesn’t get a place. Roll on tomorrow…

We got letters on Friday! Solihull have been emailed just now. Lots will go live at midnight.

West Berkshire generic information available on their website now, with numbers allocated to each school if you applied for West Berkshire schools you might be able to work it out.

I'm trying to decide if it's worth staying up on the off chance they update the portal at midnight.

LA website said emails will be sent from 8am so seems unlikely they'll put it online 8 hours earlier.

Anyone else feel like they're going mad?! Honestly didn't think I'd be so het up!! I am obvs staying awake until midnight but I can't bear the thought of the portal not updating 😂
