What time should you know of your child has got into chosen primary school?

As title says, is there a set time? Or are all councils different? This is all new to be an I am very eager and anxious to know !

I'm going to try and log into online portal at midnight 😅 but I think I'll be getting my hopes up by doing this

Didn't get first choice. Absolutely gutted for the little man.

Following! I'm in London, so I'm thinking to just log on to b the portal at 5pm. As nervous as I am, part of me doesn't want to know before then as I'm so worried dd hasn't gotten any of the schools we've put down. I know this is unlikely, but for various reasons, sadly, it's a possibility for us!

East Cambs. Didn't get our first choice (catchment school) or anything on our list. Have been allocated absolutely dire school.

Our email came through at 4.43am (Cambridgeshire) just waiting for dh to wake up before I open it. Hopefully we've got first choice.

Morning. Our portal now says results will be released tomorrow 🙄. Sorry to those of you who didn’t get their first (or even second) choice ☹️

in Buckinghamshire it says emails will be sent “from 11am” and portal updated “from 2pm”.

Just checked and nothing yet. Although it also said that I should be able to view the application and I couldn’t even see that on there so now slightly paranoid that I managed to mess it up and didn’t even apply properly!

Oh wait they’ve sent an email with the offer while saying on the portal results won’t be uploaded until tomorrow, weird. Anyway we’ve been offered first choice so very pleased. It’s not really competitive round here but our closest school is a bit of a dump with a concrete playground so was hoping to avoid that. The parents stand in big groups vaping outside and giving their kids fizzy drinks 😳

Got our first choice, phew! It was a total wildcard because we're not remotely in the catchment area, so I'm very happy. One of the plus sides of living in the back end of nowhere! Good luck to everyone still waiting 🤞🏻

In Derbyshire. Portal says 9.30, but I remember eldest’s email came through around 8/8.30 four years ago. Nervous as even though we have the sibling factor it’s not our catchment school and people around where we live have not been given a place at the school in recent years.

Ours was on the portal at 1am when I checked, no email yet. When DD1 started we got the email at 8:30am. Lincolnshire.

Logged on just now and there is nothing there yet.

We have the sibling factor but we have moved house since DD started, so still very nervous for DS.

Good luck everyone.

I had this last month but for a secondary places. All the parents knew from 12am on results day.
I found out at 4pm. Their email was down and for some reason I had the secondary ID thing so I needed a code via email. Even the people who opted for a letter got it on results day before me.

Just a heads up if you don't hear anything.

I phoned and they asked me some security questions and told me over the phone.

Nothing yet in East Sussex. Don’t mind if we don’t get first choice as it’s furthest away so even third choice has the benefit of being close. But I just want to knooooow – the distance thing has the trickle effect of dictating how to divide and conquer the school/nursery run Vs commutes Vs part time days over the next three years – feel like not knowing is ruling my brain!

You don't choose a state primary school FFS, you state your PREFERENCE.
