Suggestions please.

There are only a couple of others we have that aren't Donaldson eg A visitor for Bear (great well written and illustrated story).

We're in dire need of something new and engaging to read!

Tony Maddox: Fergus the Sea Dog. We got ours in Poundland as a “that’ll do” and my nearly 3 yo DD adores it, and it’s now being read to 1 yo DS

Martin Waddell. But you will cry every single time you read one of them.

Sorry writing in a dash - can I send huge thanks to person who suggested I Love You Little Monster. Read it once (dd 5) Cried. Read it again cried. Read it to eldest DD (10) who said "mummy that's you". Sobbed. Not usually like that. What a book. Thank you.

This is a great thread. Sooooo bored of Julia Donaldson books and been looking for my two DC. I've just bought DS1 Stoneage Boy and a David Walliams book - there's a snake in my school. I thought he wrote books for older children but he's done a few for 4-6 age range. Also, my two love the Funny Bones books by Alan Ahlberg.
