Does anyone know if they release the email at midnight tonight or early tomorrow morning? I'm very excited/nervous!

Hope this is ok to ask here - I have twins. One is disabled (cerebral palsy affecting all four limbs) - she goes to a specialist school. He twin brother has been allocated a school that does make it more difficult for me to do drop offs - the school allocated is out of the way and as far as I can see does not have parking. I would have to leave my daughter in the care while taking ds into school, parking outside the grounds. Would that be grounds for appealing?

Just to add, the school was not one of the 4 choices on our list.

Dizzy - you may find the school has some blue badge parking you can use, it would be worth asking. Can you drop your daughter off first?

Normally transport issues are not considered as part of an appeal - it's up to you to get your children to school. If the allocated school is 2 miles or more away you should get transport provided for your son, though just for him (and it could be a bus pass depending on where you are).

Did you apply under any medical/social grounds, if they exist? Allocations can only take into account information they have been given.

Would the appeal be ICS? (30 children per class in reception/KS1)?

Thanks Patricia

From what I can tell on the schools we use and from passing the school on occasion, I can't see any carparking and the website it's self says there is no parking for parents and carers. The school is still closed on Easter break for me to be able to double check.

My daughter's school takes me 25 mins to get there and back, so my son would be consistently late if I drop him off after.

I didn't state this on my application- with hindsite I possibly should have, but the information said medical issues relating to the child, which my son doesn't have. I also naively thought I would get a place at 1st place or possibly even 3rd place school as they were both undersubscribed last year.

I am trying to get through to admissions to see what information I can get as to waitlist details etc

Definitely worth checking - for example, our primary has no parking for parents, but we have 2 blue badge spots in the small staff car park that can be used for dropoff if needed.

If anyone is thinking of appealing and wants advice your best move is to start your own thread with the word "appeal" in the title. That way the admission experts will see your request for help and you will get a response. If you post on this thread we may see your request but it may get missed.

Therefore, many of the people in the 5th and 6th columns are possibly not going to be vastly happier with their allocation, just because they named it, than the 3% on average who got none?

Absolutely not happy! Most families I know (in London) list 4 or 5 schools they actually like, then use the last space for the 'lesser of evils'. Which is usually a school you hate but at least it's not on the other side of the borough etc.
