Is this enough school uniform?

DD starts reception in Sept. Is very clear she doesn't want trousers. So have got:

3 x dresses
3 x polo shirts
2 x skirts
2 x jumpers
2 x cardigans
Lots of socks and tights
2 x pe shorts
2 x pe t shirts

i would buy a few more polo shirts.

I would get more polo shirts.

Why do you need 2 PE kits? We send it in and if stays in all half term!

Sounds ample , probably too much pe stuff. Pe kit usually goes in and stays until half term assuming they need it at all.

Wash and a spare. Sounds plenty.

I buy 6 polo shirts and 2 of everything else. I buy the coloured polo shirts and shorts in packs of 2 from Tesco for PE as then I have a spare in case DS loses any kit. At DSs school the PE kit comes home each day after PE (once a week atm due to swimming lessons but twice a week when swimming not on)

More polo shirts definitely, you only need 1 pe kit they only do it once a week in reception, kit goes in and stays till half term. Key thing is name in everything big and clear so she can read and identify her own clothes.

By dresses, do you mean pinafores or summer style dresses? If it is the latter I would suggest more skirts/pinafores as my DC wear fresh uniform every day; they just don't manage to get 2 days' wear out of it.

I would say 5 or 6 polo shirts.

I agree with six polo shirts even if you're washing often.

You may find that she prefers a cardigan, won't wear a jumper, and drips yogurt/custard/gravy down her front daily, in which case you might be short there.

Our PE kit comes home every weekend somewhat pointlessly and it's handy to be able to have a t shirt and shorts ready to shove in the bag on Sunday night without the rush of getting the single set turned round in time. It's so cheap (two full kits for less than a fiver in total in Aldi today) that duplicates are no big deal.

summer style dresses - so on the days she wears those (with tights and a card or jumper in winter) she wouldn't wear a polo shirt as well.

PE kit - apparently you take it home to wash every week but I can imagine it could easily get lost in the weekend and not got round to.

I'd recommend blouses over polo shirts - much easier to iron

That feels like an odd mix of stuff.
I'd get 5 polo shirts.
But you really don't need 2 pe kits or 4 jumpers/cardigans (2 is ample - most DC round here only have 1)
Does she need any outdoor pe kit?

Do girls at your school wear summer dresses in winter? You do see the odd child doing that here, but not really the norm ...

You don't wear summer dresses until after the Easter holidays.

And never with tights!

Definitely more polo shirts or blouses - she won't wear summer dresses after the first couple of weeks. All reception kids were in winter uniform in September at our school.

Also are you sure girls are allowed to wear jumpers. In my dc school they are only allowed cardigans.

Ours allow summer dresses until October half term, many reception children wear them, too.

Summer dresses not warm enough for winter even with tights and cardies! Get one or two for the start of the year if you want, but don't expect them to get worn for more than 3 or 4 weeks. Get them big enough to wear next summer though.

They are allowed to wear whatever combo they want as long as in the school colours.

Reception kids only wore them after Easter here. Agree I have never seen anyone wearing a summer dress with tights.

I only see the summer dresses in winter in families where money's a bit tight and the skirt is in the wash. Officially not allowed where we are, but not really clamped down on so might be ok.

Summer dresses will not be warm enough in deep winter. Admittedly we live 'oop north where it gets very cold, but DD often wears thermal vest, thermal long johns, trousers, polo shirt and jumper in winter.

I'd rather have her layered like an onion that can be peeled, than freezing cold.

If it's nice in September the girls may still be in summer dresses - prob only for a month or so.

(Warning: When she sees all her chums in trousers in winter, she will want some and you won't be able to find any in any shop anywhere).

As a guide I have the following for DD:
4 polo shirts
4 jumpers
3 skirts
3 trousers
3 summer dresses
5 pairs of tights
5 socks
2 PE tops
1 PE shorts
1 tracksuit bottoms.

DS has the same, except he has 5 pairs of trousers in place of the skirts and summer dresses. Both will have long sleeved thermal vests and long johns when the weather gets very cold. I always wash just about every day midweek, as well as the weekends.
