Inspired by the end of year 1 thread and yes, I know academic auccess isn't everything etc I'm just wondering what MNetters DC have achieved, which I expect will generally be above the national average! Grin

Just skimmed this thread and feel compelled to correct a couple of points:

  • In principle the new test will not produce a raw 'mark'. That will be translated to a 'scaled score' where 100 represents the 'expected standard'. They expect ~85% to meet or exceed that standard and realistically can draw the line wherever they like for political purposes much the same as for SATS thresholds in order to try and keep outcomes comparable from year to year.

  • They backed down on reporting deciles. The current plan is that you'll get the scaled score, alongside the average for the school, the local area and nationally to make comparisons easier for competitive parents i.e. some schools don't reveal the SATS marks and it must be terribly frustrating when you don't if your child's L5 was better than their child's L5.

"you don't if" -> "you don't know if"

I don't believe the levels most people quote on here.

I think they probably bump them up a level or two.

Presumably they have the reports? Let's see some pics people!

We don't get levels in most years. Only get them end of yr2 and 6. I am glad.

Basically, this thread post is a great way for me to be proud of my daughter and shamelessly show off. Not something I ever do face to face.

Fully prepared to get flamed now though .....
