Does anyone have a crystal ball Grin - I suppose that is ironic as preppers don’t need a crystal ball because they are already prepared.

But, Brexit stashes have been used up and hopefully no longer on the preppers list.

We are a fair way along in a pandemic, apart from a few weeks at the start, supply has ironed out to a great extent. Boy was I pleased to have a store of stuff to use in the early scary days though.

What’s next. Any guesses?

Can anyone please tell me the implications for this USA fuel cyber attack state of emergency, please?

www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1266793[/quote]
The implications for whom/what?

  • to the USA
  • to us in the UK/Europe
  • on the vulnerability of strategic pipelines/infrastructure in general

If it's not fixed this week the reports suggest fuel shortages, increases in price and then the knock on effect would be lack of transportation for some apparently.

AdoraBell · 10/05/2021 20:23

I think it will have a huge effect in the USA if it’s not fixed soon. Price of fuel etc, increased cost for deliveries. Hopefully it’s fixed quickly.

It wouldn't affect us so to speak, but will be interesting to see how it plays out and effects the US.

Also shows how easily it can be taken down by people in the know

Anyone else hear 'solar flare' get a mention in the Cummings Show today? - in the context of how unfit for purpose the civil contingencies planning for such an event is.

I'm not sure he was doing much more than getting a long-shot 'I told you so' into the minutes given our current position in the solar cycle and the solar storm that affected the atmosphere over the last couple of days.

The cme at the moment aren't big ones although there were a few in one day

If you want an Idea of life without power I recommend one second after. Although that is based on an emp, it is heralded as a realistic view on life after power

And no, no one is ready for a massive solar flare on the scale of the Carrington event.

Also there was solar flare on par with the Carrington event in 2012, but it missed us by 2 weeks. If it had hit we would still be piecing life together now.
