Sorry I couldn't find a new thread. If there is one already, I'll have this deleted.

Will get links etc brought over from last thread too.

contact tracing is not easy

Maybe it's time to accept that the numbers involved (even if you accept the official ones) are simply too great for this to be a useful approach anymore.

I know that they are discussing the budget at the moment but things have been very quiet on the COBRA meeting front. Do we know if they had one today?

Funkycats · 11/03/2020 13:54

Thank you posh
Re testing, some of us live in places that are affected. 8 in my area so far. And what about Londoners? Can you only catch this virus from nasty furriners?
bad kitten my DH is not meant to eat biscuits but I have bought and hidden some Rich Tea biscuits because he loves them with a cup of tea. I'm thinking if he gets taken poorly that is how I would tempt him to eat! (Is my excuse!)

tryingtoprep · 11/03/2020 13:56

I agree @Sprayitall and share your fears.

So how on earth did Nadine Dorries get tested?

A poster on this or another thread put it very well. We are an infected counties ourselves. No need to travel elsewhere for exposure. In fact the way things are going soon we will be the infected country others put on a flight ban list!

I've made some homemade disinfectant sprays to use on surfaces at home. Neat Dettol mixed with water.

It's been mentioned before but plant milks tend to last well. I like Oatley.

Mrsappleby · 11/03/2020 13:57

Sorry if I've missed it but has anyone got a link to the google maps?

Funkycats · 11/03/2020 13:59

Nadine's results also came through remarkably quickly.... She was only tested on Monday.

pemberlyshades · 11/03/2020 14:00

Fuck

tryingtoprep · 11/03/2020 14:01

That's very worrying @NatoPMT Have they at least given him anything to help with his breathing? I hope he improves soon.

pemberlyshades · 11/03/2020 14:01

456 positive up from 373

Sprayitall · 11/03/2020 14:04

Does anyone know if no-germs is any good?

ringsnthings · 11/03/2020 14:06

Scotlands Numbers for today
Update on #coronavirus testing
As of 2pm today, 2316 Scottish tests have concluded:

2280 confirmed negative
36 positive

Sprayitall · 11/03/2020 14:06

456? That’s scary

MoonlightMistletoe · 11/03/2020 14:08

Soo testing is decreasing however cases are rising? When are they testing the 10,000? Wtf.

itsnotjustflu · 11/03/2020 14:09

google map link -www.google.com/amp/s/www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/news/local-news/coronavirus-southwell-covid-19-nottinghamshire-3934587.amp

thanks for the figures....so a bit more of an increase but still noway near a major problem for the government.

PancakeFiend · 11/03/2020 14:10

Can I ask a question about supermarket food deliveries making substitutions? I’ve had the email to confirm my Asda shop and I’m annoyed as they’re not substituting things for like for like quantities or weights. For example the bread I ordered was 600g and they’re substituting it with a 350g loaf, surely they should be sending two? And I ordered four pizzas for £7 and they’re sending three of a different brand. A few things like this. We’re coeliac so makes things more expensive and difficult anyway.
Thanks in advance.

I'm skeptical. Remember when China's figures were rising in a really controlled way and people said they were obfuscating to calm people, it feels like that. If it's got an R4 figure then numbers should be rising faster.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/03/2020 14:16

+74 today.

independentfriend · 11/03/2020 14:18

I opened some UHT milk with a best before date in Oct 2019 on Sunday and it's been OK ish in coffee - I probably just need to make stronger coffee/use less UHT milk than 'normal' milk with it. [doesn't taste off/hasn't made me ill, just doesn't taste like normal milk does] Had opened it intending to make a cheese sauce with it, which I've not yet got round to doing.

MoonlightMistletoe · 11/03/2020 14:20

This is the UK gov map, they are working on a mobile version however it still works and if more accurate than the other one.

Sprayitall · 11/03/2020 14:20

@PancakeFiend Same with my orders all last week. I was given candies instead of dh’s usual cough syrup

Galleyfm · 11/03/2020 14:22

@PancakeFiend yes they should be substituting for like for like or more. You can either refuse the product/s at delivery and the driver should arrange a refund or you can call Asda after keeping the products (there should be a free phone or local rate number to a call centre) or you can log in to your account a couple of hours after, click orders, select the order and request refunds there. As long as it's reasonable and not the whole shop (I think undef £20) theh justvrefund and let you keep the items. At least that's my experience.

Kirschcherry · 11/03/2020 14:22

@HasaDigaEebowai can I ask what Vet chain has said that? I can’t find any information online. Thank you.

itsnotjustflu · 11/03/2020 14:26

www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/f94c3c90da5b4e9f9a0b19484dd4bb14 this map doesn't have a very good accuracy from what I can see though. Where I know there is a case there isn't one for miles around

Sprayitall · 11/03/2020 14:28

@MoonlightMistletoe thanks for the link but it’s little way off I think when it comes to my town 🤔
