7 weeks medical termination handhold needed

I'm 7 weeks and took my first pill yesterday. So far, the sickness has been the same as usual - awful but manageable.

I've planned for 6pm to take the next tablets with codeine in advance.

I've already started bleeding with sizeable clots and backache - guessing this is expected.

I've told no one in RL and could do with some support/positive stories.

I’ve been thinking of you all evening, I hope you’re okay and the worst is nearly over with xxx

jammyrodger · 04/01/2021 01:55

Thank you all. Tablets are in. I've taken codeine. Pain is manageable but uncomfortable. Waiting for inevitable sickness that I'm expecting.

Think tonight is going to be a long night.

@Windylindy7

I've no experience, booked in for a surgical this week. But wanted to give you my support for tonight. It will be over soon. Here if you need a chat throughout x
Thank you so much. How are you doing?

Thank you. The general sickness has been awful and I am trying to focus on next week when I'm hoping all symptoms will have gone.

I've got the biggest knickers known to man on, thick sanitary towels and an old towel on the bed.

Pain is definitely ramping up but still manageable.

Just an update, the pain is pretty intense. I've not yet got off the bed but it's very much like labour pains although not as many waves, more persistent - I should probably get up and move but I also don't feel like I can.

It's still manageable - just intense. I've set my alarm for 6am for the final two tablets and am hoping by tomorrow evening the worst really will have passed.

OP posts:
jammyrodger · 04/01/2021 08:17

I'd like to think that my experience will be useful to someone going through something similar, so another update.

I read until 5am - couldn't sleep and watching anything was a no go, but reading helped to focus me on something other than the pain.

I found it most helpful to lie on my side with a pillow between my legs and occasionally rocking my hips.

Earlier this morning, I went to the loo and could feel a gush of blood - there was a lot and a lot of clots. For those who've given birth, it's a bit like the immediate bleeding after.

I've not had any diarrhoea or sickness other than the relentless sickness, but I did have to sit on the loo and just wait for everything to come out.

I've taken the remaining tablets and more painkillers and am back in bed - after the initial intensity, the pain was just a dull ache, but it's now quite intense again.

I'm so glad the children aren't back in school today and am hoping that paw patrol or peppa pig will keep them busy until this passes.

I'm not sure if I've passed the actual pregnancy - there have been a lot of clots and to be honest, I've not looked, although if that changes, I'll update.

So. Still here. The pain is intense but the pain relief is ok. There's a lot of blood and I'm shattered but so glad there's an end in sight.

@jammyrodger i bet you are exhausted. I hope there’s some relief for you soon. Keep thinking of what tomorrow will be like, and that relief you’re feeling. I’m glad the books have kept you distracted too, that’s a good idea, going to put my kindle on charge! Keep us posted this morning to know you’re okay. Well done for getting through the worst xxx

Hang in there. I’m sorry there is no easier way, all ways are pretty crap tbh. Hopefully will be over soon.

jammyrodger · 04/01/2021 11:22

Thanks so much for everyone's support. It's more appreciated than you'll realise.

The bleeding seems to have slowed down - although I've been still so I wouldn't expect otherwise for the moment. Pain is that of a mild period and I just feel tired - will be upping iron with Spatone.

I don't know if this is it or there's more to come 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel very relieved either way and am just hoping with everything that this has worked.

How are you feeling?

I'm working late tonight so if you sang to chat, let me know.

I'm ok, still crampy and bleeding, but it's on and off. Thought the sickness had gone but it's still lingering.

@YnysMon20 how are you doing?

OP posts:
YnysMon20 · 05/01/2021 21:03

@jammyrodger sorry to hear you’re still crampy, is everything okay apart from that?

I had a really bad response from a friend tonight - we have a group chat of four of us, everyone has been supportive. Then out of the blue she said she had to leave the group as she didn’t agree with what I was doing and didn’t want to be two faced. I was really taken by it. I completely respect her views and judgement but it had really made me have a wobble for the first ever in this whole window of waiting. xx

timeforchangeagain · 05/01/2021 22:16

@YnysMon20 sorry to hear your friend wasn't supportive, unfortunately some people just cannot see it from your point of view and your reasons, it's a difficult time to go through but I'm sure you know what is best for you.

cherry101 · 05/01/2021 22:31

How are u doing @YnysMon20 ? I keep intermittently crying 😢 I know
In my heart it's the right thing as mine was due to medical risks but I'm so sad.I been building myself up last two weeks thinking about today and here it is.
The nurses in the clinic were so lovely But I wish I didn't have to go as
It made It so much more Real and i just
Feel rotten x hope everyone ok x

I'm so sorry you had that response. You're making the decision that's best for you xx

I hope you're feeling a bit better today @cherry101.

Its a difficult decision for anyone to make for whatever reason. Just know that you've got support, whether that's in RL or on here xx

YnysMon20 · 06/01/2021 10:06

@timeforchangeagain @cherry101 @jammyrodger thank you - I just had my appointment with BPAS I genuinely feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. They were so supportive and informative. I don’t need a scan as my cycles are so regular and he felt that I was sure in my decision - we had a good long chat and he actually told me stop saying I was sorry or selfish as my reasons were as valid as the next persons. Pills should be here tomorrow or Friday, so on to the next step.

Cherry, I fully understand, I had those feelings last night and spoke about it today. It’s a difficult thing to go through despite being sure of your decision and we’re human and wired to respond with a whole range of emotions - for some that’s relief whilst for others it can be confused. It will get better, and you know you’re doing the right thing by you - you need to remind yourself of that and be strong with it, as impossible as it can feel.

How are you feeling today @jammyrodger?

@timeforchangeagain I hope you’re okay too - hopefully you’ll feel informed and supported at your telephone consultation. It really has made me feel better.

Xx

Hey hun thanks checking in.

I been a bit worried tbh as took the 4 tablets at 5pm horrendous cramps started at 7 ish n only spotting then hour later enough to soak a pantyliner(tmi sorry) n I felt a small clot pass. But the leaflet said if you have less than a period blood then take the other two misprostol orally after 3 hours. Which I was worried it wasn't enough blood, so I took them later at 4.5 hours later so I'm praying it's worked ! 😖🙏🏻

I'm still cramping really bad but worried it's not enough blood ! I've hardly eaten only toast xx
