I have every sympathy for you. Go with a decision you feel is best for you and your child who is already here. Far too many people carry on with pregnancies that are detrimental to the lives of the mother and siblings. I think it's a brave decision to realise it's not for you or your family.

tessiegirl · 04/05/2019 18:34

Op you said before that adoption isn't something you would consider? Can I ask you why you wouldn't?

hellenbackagen · 04/05/2019 18:36

Sometimes I despair. Everything is just disposable. Why op, are you asking a bunch is strangers on a forum to decide for you? Comment yes or no??? Really??? Ffs. Yes I'm judging that alone. Get a proper referral to a proper pregnancy advisory service with counselling. Not a friend of a friend. Not a forum. You don't have time to play about like that .

MarthasGinYard · 04/05/2019 18:44

will find out early next week what the abortion will actually entail luckily it’s early in the week so will have plenty of time to think about it ..also have the 20 week scan mid way through the week I have decided I will make my decision that day'

No you don't have 'plenty of time' to think about it.

Surely you won't go to a scan if you are terminating anyway,

tessiegirl · 04/05/2019 18:45

I agree hellen.
Op you sound extremely callous thinking you can just get rid of a healthy baby like this. This thread has been on my mind all day. How you can make a decision based on what we say is beyond belief. You don't deserve to have got pregnant when they are so many struggling

MarthasGinYard · 04/05/2019 18:46

'could you please comment yes or no at the end of your posts '

WTF

Get some RL help with this and pretty quick

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 19:00

She's mentally ill, she has no means to support another child she does not want and you lot are having a go at her because some people can't get pregnant? Hmm No one owes someone a baby. She's making the right decision for her. Hope you get some proper counselling for your procedure, OP.

hellenbackagen · 04/05/2019 19:10

I was on sertraline 4 years. I was defined mentally ill.
Still wouldn't have gone to an internet vote on aborting a healthy 20 week foetus.

But hey. Guess mental illness excuses anything then . 🤷🏻‍♀️

have anxiety & depression still PND with my 4 year old daughter from a previous relationship & do not really enjoy being a parent

But still chose to have the coil removed to bring a baby into this. I do have sympathy for the OP but I get why posters are shocked and annoyed.

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 19:18

Well, hellen, in this world what works for one person doesn't work for others. That's how it goes. She no longer wants to be pregnant and is under the time limit. As early as possible, as late as necessary.

hellenbackagen · 04/05/2019 19:21

prequelle

Exactly. I hid this and have ended up finding it again by chance from MIL S computer.

Hiding again.

PurpleDaisies · 04/05/2019 19:28

hellen how your own mental illness affected you isn’t relevant. It’s different for everyone.

Op you need real life impartial counselling not people to vote on whether you should have an abortion.

Daffodil2018 · 04/05/2019 19:31

There are so many people out there who would love to adopt your baby. Please, please consider adoption. You would be doing a wonderful thing for your baby and its adoptive parents.

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 19:36

Wow, this is like a anti-choice rally in here.

NO ONE should be forced to continue a pregnancy they don't want. Women are not incubators.

AfterLaughter · 04/05/2019 19:39

OP. You are legally and morally allowed to abort upto 24 weeks for any reason so can the pro lifers or whatever do one, please. To feel the need to do this at this stage is overwhelming and horrendous an OP does not need hammering further.

tessiegirl · 04/05/2019 19:40

It's wrong on so many levels that she can just 'get rid' of this baby because she is mentally ill or has no means of support. A baby isn't just a piece of rubbish to dispose of.
Giving up the baby for adoption would be the better outcome.
And yes, there are so many who struggle to get pregnant and long for a baby. I think hearing this would be extremely difficult not to be shocked, angry and upset by.
You planned this baby op by having coil removed. It's not even as though it was an unplanned pregnancy. If you were that unstable you shouldn't have ever got pregnant.

AfterLaughter · 04/05/2019 19:43

@tessiegirl Hmm You obviously have zero comprehension of mental illness.

I had a late term abortion. I didn’t even know I was pregnant until I was sectioned. Mind you, at the time I also believed I had superpowers and needed to time travel to fix things... So I wasn’t exactly paying attention to my body.

It wasn’t as late as 20 weeks but it was still late. I didn’t get out of the hospital for almost a year..

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 19:45

It's not wrong in the eyes of the law, tessie, no matter how much you don't like it. It's a foetus which is non-viable outside the uterus and a woman can make the decision to no longer be pregnant until 24 weeks. Adoption may not be a better outcome for her and the child she already has. And it's not for you or anyone else but the OP and her doctor to decide. Thankfully, the law doesn't make a load of moral judgements towards women who wish to terminate their pregnancies.

hellenbackagen · 04/05/2019 19:47

afterlaughter not the same scenario though is it?

I've reported the post asking for "votes." Wrong on any and every level.

What is so wrong with getting proper counselling and rl help?

tessiegirl · 04/05/2019 19:50

I don't actually have a problem with abortion although I have stated up thread I think the limit should be lowered. I also think late abortions should be allowed for medical reasons.

And actually I do have a comprehension of mental illness thank you. I have suffered anxiety for years and am on antidepressants for pnd. So get off your high horse.

SihtricsHorseWitnere · 04/05/2019 19:53

But it's not a high horse to tell a person she should go through a full term pregnancy and childbirth just to give her baby away because that's 'better for all' Hmm? Right.

'I'm pro-choice but . . . ' Means you're not.

AfterLaughter · 04/05/2019 19:55

@SihtricsHorseWitnere PREACH

Raspberry88 · 04/05/2019 19:59

SihtricsHorseWitnere

Completely agree with everything you've posted. OP, I wish you all the best and hope you can find the help and support you need to make this decision. You should do what is best for you and your family and have no need to feel guilt, whatever you choose to do. Flowers

PurpleDaisies · 04/05/2019 20:15

And yes, there are so many who struggle to get pregnant and long for a baby. I think hearing this would be extremely difficult not to be shocked, angry and upset by.

That’s totally irrelevant to the op’s decision. Don’t make assumptions about what we would think or feel about this situation.
