Oh my - can't believe Boodle's news - that is fantastic! Congratulations to all the Boodle family Grin. Can't believe Alice's dramatic entrance!

Dashing off to acupuncture so sorry for the quick post. Jollster - ha ha, I'm firmly in denial and trying to pretend I'm not at the top of the list (sticks fingers in ears and humms loudly). Hope the realisation of your date didn't upset you too much xxx

Back later to catch up properly but was desperate to hear boodle's news!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 12/09/2010 14:32

BOODLE thats lovely news just fabulous...Well done to you all.Enjoy Smile XX

We ve had a lovely weekend away at Thoresby Hall,is bliss.Big old warners state home one last big blow out.Highly recommend it for a kid free weekend. We had spa package [tho mine is limited to a facial and pedicure].BUT [as always] car cut out on the A1 had to be towed to and back from the hotel!!!! Only 3 months after spending £700 on new fuel injecters the car is now back in the garage to see whats wrong with it AGAIN......Ba**ard car HATE IT.Now without a car and scratching round various options to find the cash to fix it.Going to borrow some money to pay off the remaining finance then get a lease hire car.....Soo sick of this...Don t need it 2 weeks before due date.

Hope everyone is well XX

Louise - so glad you managed to have a relaxing time away, but what a pain about your car. Definitely just what you don't need with two weeks to go.

Big wave to the rest of you lovely ladies!

HappyGirl1 · 13/09/2010 10:11

Boodle huge huge big congratulations!! Welcome baby Alice also (beautiful name). What a birth story!! Incredible really! Although it's made me realise I need to ensure DH has some kind of education in delivery.. I think i saw a few bullet points on it in 'what to expect when you're expecting' so I'll dig that out! Huge huge congrats.

Loopy you poor poor thing, i really really hope the appt surprises you tomorrow. Hope today goes fast also as you deserve to know what's going on. Best of luck.

Hugs to Jolls

Gilda hope work calms down this week for you, you sounded down you poor thing.

I'm finding the time a bit slow at the moment, will be good to get to wednesday and be in 3rd trimester. starting to read about labour etc, I know very very little in that regard so need to get up to speed. Had a bit of a funny pain through the night - very similar to MC which was worrying but baby has just said a little hello, i'll be happier when it says a bigger hello though soon hopefully. I do wonder was it a mini contraction - i read that they can start quite early but again I'm only guessing. Have a MW appt on Wed so will ask then.

Effilump · 13/09/2010 10:48

Boodle Congratulations what a great story! Very dramatic, brilliant!

Firts and most important: thinking of you Loopy and also big hugs and chocolate to Jolls x

How is everybody? I can't seem to keep up with everything at the moment! Not really much news from this end. Buffybean is kicking me continually in the stomach - at least that means it's headed in the right direction at the moment... I'm STILL waiting to hear back from the community matron re my birthplan stuff. It's been nearly 3 weeks - at what point do I start to worry? It's supposed to be she gets back to me, then I make corrections, then the thing goes for processing... at this rate I'll have a baby already by the time everything goes through Angry I'm not at all keen about going into hospital without an approved and official plan and a hb although lovely (and I'm very Envy of you ladies planning it) I'm aiming for a vbac and the hospital is an hour away so ARGH really. In other news, as they say, we are down to 2 puppies, one we are keeping (tell me I'm not insane please) and one we have still to find a home for (anyone knows anyone, etc etc flutter flutter eyelashes).

Ah well. Hopefully life will start making sense again soon... sleep would help...

Ps Alba how are you feeling hon?

clareanna · 13/09/2010 19:12

hi all
Louise woe betide any garage that messes with a pg lady 2 weeks before she's due!! I had an accident 3 weeks before i was due and believe me the garage knew about it!! We're just in the process of part exchanging ours as reckon if we keep it much longer it's going to cost us dear... There's a strange rattling noise...

unbuffy lovely to hear from you- pup will make you get out of the house each day!

Waves to rhg

magic i see your tesco bargains and will also mention that boots has relaunched it's parenting club and you get 10 points (10p) per £1 when you buy baby stuff!! Also far better freebies..! Grin

Well I was finally brave enough to tell my colleague- it was ok, some tears in her eyes, but kept it short and sweet. It least I'll be able to stop holding in my tummy all the time now!!

Morning everyone, hope you and your bumps are all well. Just to update you, the 20 week scan went well, baby fine and we resisted the temptation to find out the sex. I've got a low lying placenta so have to have another scan at 36 weeks but the midwife seemed pretty sure it would have moved by then. I can't believe I am halfway through, feel quite emotional about it all really. I keep looking at the scan photos and feeling all teary.

Ooh loopy, that's great news! Make sure you take it easy over the next two weeks and fingers crossed it will sort itself out. :)

And dorcas too - am so pleased everything is going well.

I've just been for my first MW appointment at my GP surgery and we discussed the possibility of having a reassurance scan before the 12 week one. TBH, it doesn't sound hopeful, but the MW is going to at least try and speed the process along so I might get my 12 week scan at, say, 11 weeks instead.

Am now weighing up whether to go private. Pros: At least I'll know one way or another whether everything is as it should be. And if it isn't, I'd rather know sooner than later.

Cons: Every shit scan I've ever had has been when I've gone private so I have bad memories of my local hospital in general. Also, I had a scan at 8 weeks last time and everything looked fine, only for it to go horribly wrong at 13 weeks so it doesn't necessarily mean anything anyway. And finally, am also kind of liking this 'ignorance is bliss' period at the moment...

louisesh · 14/09/2010 12:27

LOOPY fabulous news expect you re VERY relieved.CONGRATS Smile.

Dorcas lovely news hope you enjoyed your scan. Its such a relief isn t it? another step closer.

Hope everyone else is well.Still crap here BP still 110/88 yesterday at the birth centre needs to be re-checked on fri i feel fine just tired and pi**ed off with the car and problems with the mother-in -law!!!! Yesterday good news about the car wasn t going to cost much to fix[dodgy fuel line!!!] Today found an oil leak ? How much now?????? Just waiting to hear....God knows where we re going to get the money from????

Will post later hope you re all having a better day than me!!!!!

Redheadgal · 14/09/2010 12:38

Loopy - that's marvellous news! So pleased for you. What a relief!

Viv - it's a tough one. I went for a private scan because I couldn't stand waiting. The 12 week scan feels just such a long way off. On the other hand, as you say, ignorance is bliss. On a third hand, with my mmc, I felt really angry and cheated (by my body) to discover at 12 week scan that the pregnancy had never really got going in the first place and I'd spent 6 weeks believing I was pregnant. This time round I had a some spotting at about 7 weeks - cue much panicking and a visit to the EPU for impromptu scan. Felt a bit of a fraud because it turned out all was well, but at least we got to see the heartbeat early on. I wouldn't wish the bleeding on anyone but it did have a silver lining. We then had a private scan a couple of weeks later since we'd already booked it.

Clareanna - well done for telling your colleague. Can't have been easy, but it was a nice thing to have done and hopefully it'll make the next few months easier for you and her.

Unbuffy - much as I'd like to say yes, it's going to have to be a 'no' to the puppy. It would be terrorised by our maine coon.

Actually 'saw' the baby last night. Whenever I go to bed the baby wakes up and starts doing her aerobics. Could swear she was doing jumping jacks. So strange to actually see her kicking me inside on the outside.
