Hugs to Loopy and fx for you x

Muse second the flat lemonade / coke thing. If neccessary stir it until it's flat. Can help and is more interesting than water, water everywhere.

ActionViv well done on the Ape thang!

northerngoldilocks · 10/09/2010 13:42

Loopy I'm sorry

Viv - on the running, I stopped at 4 weeks this time, was just so tired. I had planned to carry on, but didn't realise how tired it was possible to be. Think if you can run its fine to, as long as you can trust yourself not to 'race' - I did do a race just before i found out, and was about to push myself at the end when I remembered I might be preg and not good to overheat. Good job really (although would probs have been fine anyway. I still do spinning, body pump, swimming and walking on the treadclimber in the gym, I'm just too tired to run these days.

batteryhen · 10/09/2010 13:51

Morning all.

Loopy- am thinking of you and keeping things crossed for you xxx

viv glad go ape was ok - I am a runner too but have just not had the energy at all, so am thinking about aqua aerobics instead.- A little less impact for me!

muse sorry about the pukiness - I too have been banished to the sofa - lots of sickness this morning (reassuring but grim at the same time)- I am hoping it is a one off as I am at a wedding tomorrow and have to do a reading about the joy of love. It will not do if I am green and retching the whole way through :(

Wave to everyone else xx

clareanna · 10/09/2010 14:32

viv excellent subterfuge skills

Am very impressed with general fitness- I have been rubbish. Since breaking my toe at the end of July I can still hardly walk let alone do anything more energetic! Must try swimming...

Hello Smile,

I'm really busy back at school and have been reading but have little time to post. I'm really glad to hear Magic's news, that's fab! I'm hoping that things are better for Muser & Loopy soon. Sorry that this is the worst name check ever Blush. I'm on maternity leave from the 30th, you won't be able to hear the end of me then Grin. All is well here, my baby is doing all the right things and is now is 2/5 engaged and is no longer posterier which is great and has alieviated the intensity of the pain. I was pretty sure she was partly engaged as I feel like she is really low down. One sneeze and she'll fall out Grin...if only it were so easy. I love my job so on that level it's great to be back at school. On the other hand the 530am starts and long days are really tiring. Insomnia is setting in a bit too so I lie awake for a couple of hours a night. Generally feeling well and optimistic, interestingly I've started to think that I might miss being pregnant (I love my bump!). Love to everyone, hope you are all smiling this evening, SB x

Gi1da · 10/09/2010 20:18

Glad you're feeling better Samb, sounds like things are going really well now. Darn. I am fighting with my iPod spell check tonight. It tried to change that to thongs!

Viv well done for aping incogduffo. Grin

Muser oh pony! Really hope you feel better v soon and manage to keep some liquids down. Fx you get your holiday.

Loopsy thinking of you and hoping for good news x

Hellos to all, feel a bit spaced today. Work this week has been very stressful and I feel a bit resentful that they are piling the pressure on right now. Oh well, at least it's Friday so two email free days! Woot woot! Things were never this nuts when we had to rely on faxes!

Gi1da · 10/09/2010 20:21

Ps hoping all's well with Boodle fx

Muser · 10/09/2010 20:31

I managed not to puke all day so am at Heathrow. See you all in a week!

AlbaDeTamble · 10/09/2010 20:35

evening all...
Gi1da with you on work being just too busy, and being spaced out! Wouldn't mind feeling like a zombie if I didn't have to try to get a job done
Viv glad you had a good day at GoApe... that leap really is terrifying isn't it, but it feels great just after you've done it!
Loopy you are being so positive, really happy for you that things are looking up and will keep fingers tightly crossed for you
Muser that's a bit unfair getting to supposedly easy 2nd trimester and feeling so rotten, hope the rehydration continues to do the trick. Reminds me that I'm being a little less careful than I was at drinking loads, perhaps I should start trying a little harder and maybe fuzzy head will improve Hmm, well, I can hope...
SamB fantastic that you're feeling so much better! 5.30am starts... ouch, that's hard work... are you still booked in at Maidstone? I'm going to be waiting patiently for your report come October. Lovely community midwife today was so sweet and angry on my behalf about what happened to me at antenatal clinic last month, she's complaining to them, has added a note to my notes clarifying what happened (they were rather vague on reasons I didn't want to go back there) and has encouraged me to complain too, though not sure I can face it. She's also got me down for homebirth if all well, happy to monitor closely for growth issues that happened last time and quite willing to go with private scans provided I'm happy to pay for them, so will have more appointments than usual for second timer and growth scans starting in a month, without setting foot in hospital. Hurrah! Obviously if clinically indicated, I'll happily go to hospital and do whatever needed, but will be great to avoid if all well. However, she's also suggested I go to see Maidstone and will book me in there instead if I like it in case homebirth not possible. Also, it may be wise as the old Pembury closes and transfers to new building just over a week after my due date. Don't want to be stuck in falling down place a week before it's condemned..... and I imagine the whole transfer won't be without a bit of chaos.

Anyway - it's late and I'm waffling on a bit... feeling much happier than I was, and little one is kicking away like mad, which always helps keep me smiling. Waves to all I've not mentioned

clareanna · 10/09/2010 20:49

gi1da just keep counting the days down... And if it's too much remember they have to give you time off for antenatal care- preg yoga or aqua natal both count - worth a try!

samb glad the pain has lessened and you're enjoying your bump

boodle what news?!

Right- could do with some advice. I still haven't told my team at work that I'm pg (am 18 wks tomorrow). The main reason is that one of the women I manage has been going through fertility treatment with clomid and gets very upset at the sight of pg women. She can't come on leaving dos for colleagues going on mat leave and will avoid or leave the room If people talk about pg. They have just decided to not go any further down the fertility route, but she is still very wobbly about it. How do you recommend I break the news? I'm not very good at confrontation and know this will be a very difficult conversation

Loopy Really sorry to hear about the bleeding. You must definitely stick around for support. Good luck for Tues.

Alba Great to hear I might have another home birth companion on the thread! I am reading lots of home birth books at the mo and find the website www.homebirth.org.uk/ really useful.

Clare I think Loopy's advice is good - to speak to the person individually and give her space to disappear off to recover if needs be. I think you are being very considerate.

Sam Good to hear things good with you. How nice to start the term but then go off again!

Battery Enjoy the sofa and hope you feel better soon!

Muser Enjoy your hols even though I know you won't be reading this!

Viv respect for doing the Go Ape experience!

NorthergG I remember having a few wobbles after 12 weeks which struck me as being really odd as I had associated them with just the early uncertainties. I think you just have to go with the flow some days.

Right, this is my last post before my 3 week holiday so hope everything goes OK for all. My scan was good yesterday although baby wasn't very co-operative! Lovely to see him/her again.

Got to go and consider packing 3 weeks worth of clothes.....

zayja · 11/09/2010 12:16

Hi Ladies,
Just quick popping in to say hello and to see meita's news. Lovely name! Sorry that you had such a tough time of it, so much that can go wrong/isn't expected. He is beautiful though, looks like he's come through it just fine. Hope mom is feeling the same :)

Been gone for so long it's nearly impossible to catch up with you all - sorry I'm a slacker. Congrats to viv! Also hoping the best for you Tues. loopy.

WYG and alba, excited to hear of your possible homebirths! Been looking through all sorts of birthing class options/philosophies and watched "Business of Being Born" - a documentary comparing homebirth to your "typical" hospital birth here in the States. I'm definitely going to attempt to go natural - of course who knows what will come up - but homebirth seems like it'd be a great experience. Just don't dare with my first babe - also not covered by insurance so would be more costly.

zayja · 11/09/2010 12:18

Oh, and today's the start of my 7th month and third trimester - YAY! Celebrating!

Gi1da · 11/09/2010 16:36

Clareanna agree best to say it simply and privately at the end of the day so she can get away and think about it without having to put on a brave face immediately. Does she know that you previously mc? Might help for her to know that you are aware of how heartbreaking this can be and haven't just sailed through in a cloud of naive ignorance.

I imagine that she still won't take it well by the sound of it, but that's where her head is at, not anything you can really do bar be as supportive and sympathetic as you already are.

Hope it goes ok.

Wishing everyone a sunny Saturday.

Loopsy think of you.

clareanna · 11/09/2010 19:01

Thanks for the advice all- yes, she does know about my mmc and she also mced at 5wks, 2 weeks after me. That was also very tough to manage especially when she was prone to telling me that her mc was worse than mine (who SAYS things like that?!). She is just very very difficult to work with and very volatile at the best of times- I'm a bit scared of her!! Will try to do the deed this week I think

hey all!

very quick update as have to get to bed...Alice Elizabeth was born 5.47am fri 10th sept weighing 8lb 2oz...she was delivered on the driveway half in and out of our mondeo by my husband and my mum!!! Paramedics turned up 7mins later and moved us all indoors where i delivered placenta when midwife turned up an hour later....whilst very dramatic i can honestly say it was not at all traumatic and this labour was so short and intense and totally without pain relief but exhileratingly free from inteference....i loved it!!!! By 730 i was on setteee showered and eating toast and drinking tea! sooo plsd i didnt have to go to hospital despite having lost a lot of blood (prob from that missing fibroid!!)

Alice is beyond gorgeous and so chilled out....i will post pic on profile when i get a chance. she is straight on the boob and despite her dramatic entrance settled right in and is a beautiful mix of all three of our other kids....

am updating from my phone so cant copy and paste the list update so would someone mind doing the honours for me....

i havent caught up wiv the thread so forgive my ignorance of peoples news....lots of love to u all tho....:)

clareanna · 11/09/2010 21:28

Huge congratulations Boodle amazing news! What a brilliant birth story too, great to hear such an enthusiastic and joyful event! Big welcome to Alice and well done that dh and mum!

AlbaDeTamble · 11/09/2010 23:18

Wow, Boodle that's quite some birth story! Sounds like it's all going really well, so happy for you Grin

Clare, scary prospect for breaking your pg news. FWIW, after MMC, my boss's boss announced her pregnancy to all at once, whereas another colleague (nearly all of us pg just now!) kindly told me quietly first. I really appreciated her letting me know so I could have a cry if needed, rather than trying to stifle emotions publicly at unexpected announcement. Thankfully was actually pg myself by then so confided in her and was a very happy chat. She'd also been kind enough to forewarn me of another colleague's announcement that she knew about early a few months prior (baby was born on what was my due date... That was a tough one...) - I really did appreciate her thoughtfulness. So I agree with everyone else's suggestions.

TFLS & Lee, looking forward to more baby announcements!

WYG thanks for the link. I remember scouring that site last time (late induction, robbed of my homebirth)... Still have birthpool, still in its box... Really hope I get to use it this time!
