Hi! I haven't been on for a while but I need somebody to chat to who is impartial!

I've just found out I'm pregnant with #4. I'm happy but my DH isn't. Not really sure what to do. I does love me, I know that and he has told me. That is why this is so hard for him. I feel as though I've got to keep any symptoms quiet (just starting to get a bit of morning sickness)so its not in his face. I know he'll come round in the end, but I need some friendly words from somebody.

Has he said anything tonight?

baggybear · 25/07/2005 22:11

No. baby and pregnancy not mentioned once today. Did make a HUGE unintentional boo-boo tho. I mean, I HAD to watch Desparate Midwives!!!!!!!!! When he came downstairs from getting ready for work and saw it was on he left the room again - oops!

Oh no really?!!!

blueteddy · 25/07/2005 22:14

Was it only yesterday that he found out?

baggybear · 25/07/2005 22:15

Hmmm. but I don't think he was cross with me for watching it, just that it was a bit too much to take in whilst he was trying to get his head round things. Bless him, i do feel pretty bad, but its happened and i can't change that. Well, i could but that just isn't an option for me.

I was the same when expecting ds2.
I remember having just found out around carnival time too & we had an almighty row that night.

blueteddy · 25/07/2005 22:18

Was he cross when he found out, or just upset?

baggybear · 25/07/2005 22:21

He had prior warning that i could be. Was due on tuesday last week. Tuesday came and went so thought i would come on wednesday. Wednesday came and went!!!! So thursday was starting to get a bit worried. Didn't say a word to DH as i didn't want to scare him. did test at friends on thursday but was neg. wasn't convinced i did it right so tried again on friday. there was the faintest line that i had trouble seeing. thought i was making it up!!! still not convinced so got a First Response test and did that friday night and there was a slightly darker line. Told DH then that I could be but not to worry yet. i showed him test and he saw line straight away. said i would do another on sunday. at that brings us up to now. there was a BIG pink line saying "hi ya! i'm here!!!"

I don't think he had any emotion - just shellshock!!

baggybear · 25/07/2005 22:22

he's going through all emotions now - anger, disappointment, worry, crying.....the list goes on!

baggybear · 25/07/2005 22:24

baggybear · 25/07/2005 22:25

I was shaking so much when I had to break the news to dh that I suspected I was pregnant.

blueteddy · 25/07/2005 22:26

It's a tricky one. Lots of TLC I guess!

blueteddy · 25/07/2005 22:30

& reassurance that things will be ok.

baggybear · 25/07/2005 22:30

Doing that now. Made a big roast dinner yesterday and have promised him his fav shepherds pie tomorrow! I don't want to exhaust myself tho. I can only do so much. soon i'm going to need him to be understanding.

blueteddy · 25/07/2005 22:31
