Pregnant Roll Call.

I don't know if its just me but I'm getting terribly confused as to whose pregnant and when they're due, especially with all the 'when are you due' threads. So I thought it may be nice if there could be a sort of roll call:

  1. How far along are you, when is due date?

  2. Do you know what you are having (boy/girl)? Will you find out?

  3. What kind of labour are you planing and where would you like to give birth?

  4. Any names picked out you would like to share?

I'll go first:

  1. How far along are you, when is due date? 24 Weeks today, yeah a whole lot of viable going on in my belly now! Due 16th October

  2. Do you know what you are having (boy/girl)? Will you find out? Had an amnio, I'm having my second girl.

  3. What kind of labour are you planing and where would you like to give birth? Having a hospital birth, I'm not in the best of health, so I would feel more comfortable. Minimal intervention though, hopefully.

  4. Any names picked out you would like to share? The baby's name has caused major major arguments in our house. In the end I have been out voted, 2 to 1. Both DH and DD are calling the baby Anastacia already, so I have given up. Especially as when I suggest any other name to DD she starts crying. So Anastacia it is. Though I would have prefered Iris. Maybe next time.

Ok, now I'll just watch this thread die on it arse

  1. 36 and a bit weeks.
  1. Don't know - will find out at birth!!

  2. Home birth.

  3. Not decided on names.

naughtynoonoo · 26/06/2003 16:08
  1. How far along are you, when is due date?

Quite a newie, 8 weeks I think, due 9 February 2004 (tbc)

  1. Do you know what you are having (boy/girl)? Will you find out?

Don't know and don't want to know, two friends found out, both wanted girls and are having boys, I like to have have somethig to look forward to.

  1. What kind of labour are you planing and where would you like to give birth?

Hospital birth, with an epiduarl, unless he/she is a quick mover and just slides out, unlike his / herbig sister!

  1. Any names picked out you would like to share?

Undecided

Marina · 26/06/2003 16:11

1 34 weeks tomorrow
2 A girl, we think (good ultrasound at 22 weeks but therefore not foolproof)
3 VBAC hopefully, waterbirth for preference. Also wanting a hospital birth after a somewhat chequered obstetric history.
4 Jury is out on this, we will wait to meet her. We did this with ds1 too.
Nice thread, Pie.

WideWebWitch · 26/06/2003 18:38

Agree, nice thread pie. OK, my answers:

  1. 19 weeks, due 21 Nov

  2. Was told 80% likely a boy at 12 week nuchal fold scan, have 20 week scan week after next so may have it confirmed then

  3. Hoping for a home birth (same as last time) but am cacking it, really, really scared this time (dunno why, much more scared than last time) so may change my mind nearer the time.

  4. Names: ds has an unusual name so I'd like another unusual one to match but have only come up with Milo or Finn so far. Except Milo is a hot drink everywhere else in the world (and a Tweenie, but I can live with that) and Finn, hmm, not sure about it. So no idea really.

princesspeahead · 26/06/2003 19:00

my turn then:

  • 31 weeks on sat, due 30 august
  • he flashed us on the 20wk scan - definately a boy. that will make my brood girl, boy, boy
  • at home I hope
  • names pretty much chosen, nothing I want to share (bit superstitious!)
codswallop · 26/06/2003 19:12

Pssst soory am not pg but - WWW mine is called Miles and we call him Milo - any good?

(slinks out again on tip toes)

WideWebWitch · 26/06/2003 19:14

cw, I like Miles too but I don't think dp is keen on either really, so probably won't end up being that.

Frogling · 26/06/2003 19:26

Pie, I think this thread is a great idea.

  1. I'm 34 weeks pregnant, due 6th August

  2. Am having a girl (if scan was accurate!), and already have a daughter, Emily, born 30th May last year. Will be nice to see them grow up close together, although was not planned!

  3. Want to try VBAC, but have been advised am having another big baby (I'm 5ft, and Em was 8lb 13.5oz, and had to have emergency caesar). Having another scan at 38 weeks to check size, and will probably end up having to have a caesarean.

  4. I like the name Sophie, and dh likes Charlotte, so will have to wait and see. Both agree on the middle name Faith, though.

Firstbump · 26/06/2003 19:31

Great Idea!

37+3weeks due 14th July

Large girl!

Planning VB at hospital but maybe induced due to polyhydramnios.

name not decided

crazynow · 26/06/2003 19:42

this is a great thread.

28 weeks + 2 - due 17 Sept

Don't know what it is, but I think it could be a girl this time.

VBAC - I've everything crossed it will be! At hospital in case it should go wrong.

Don't talk to me about names, I was with the inlaws on sat nite and we were firing names here there and everywhere - it was a laugh, but ooohhh the mind boggles!

lucy123 · 26/06/2003 20:01

Oooh, me too!

12 weeks, due early Jan (forgot to ask for exact date)

Will have the birth I am told to have, unless I crack and return to the UK for the birth. No, that's not true. I'll get the choice between epidural, pethidine or nothing.

Names not sure. POssibly Emily or Amelia - have no idea for a boy (so my friend says it'll be a girl then).

aloha · 26/06/2003 20:16

Just snooping (am I broody??) but can I just say that I think Milo, Anastasia and Iris are all LOVELY names. Ok, back to arguing about Alistair Campbell....

Ailsa · 26/06/2003 20:48
  1. 30+3 Due 1st Sept
  1. Don't know

  2. Whatever I'm told due to being Hyperthyroid

  3. I can't decide, but I've left the decision to dh, he's going for Jennifer or Daniel

Ghosty · 26/06/2003 21:06
  1. 9 weeks (due 31st Jan)
2. Don't know ... don't mind .... although a little girl to dress in pink would be a novelty!! 3. Would like a VBAC ... will have trial of labour anyway I think. 4. Names ... for a boy it is tricky ... the only ones that go with DS name would make it sound like I have a collection of toy trains (IYSWIM!!!) For a girl ... had a girls name when I was pg with DS but can't use that now as DS was going to be that name if he was a girl and it would feel funny to call another one that ... IYSWIM!! So basically ... have no idea ... will wait until nearer the time!!
KMS · 26/06/2003 22:17
  1. 36+4

2.Will find out at birth- had to have something to look forward to. have 2 boys already so girl a bit scary!

  1. 3rd time lucky for water birth I hope! 1st was induced-no water allowed. 2nd walked about with TENS then was 10cm so no water again!

  2. we are so laid back about this baby that we haven't even discussed any yet. better get a move on!! I like Dylan or Cerys off the top of my head.

jessi · 26/06/2003 22:50

1.39 weeks and 6 days..
2.girl apparantly but still won't believe it until the day
3. labour at home for as long as possible, pop into hospital around 8cm get in the birthing pool and bobs your uncle
4.no names yet, got one-ish name but not convinced yet!

ANGELMOTHER · 26/06/2003 22:59

Soooooooo many of us...

27 wks EDD 25th Sep

Another girl

Home birth (But still nervous)

Sort of decided on Elycia

StripyMouse · 26/06/2003 23:21

Great idea pie.

  1. I am 20 weeks tomorrow, scan on Tuesday

  2. Not intending to find out sex as we want a surprise.. however, we guessed corrrectly first tiem (DD) and think this one will be a boy..

  3. Hoping for a home birth with minimal intervention after rather unpleasant hospital birth first time round

  4. No names picked out yet - we just can?t agree on any yet - will be looking for ideas on this thread. (I like Amelie but DH hates it blah blah )

Oakmaiden · 26/06/2003 23:24

Me too!

  1. 24 +4, due 12th October (but I am hoping for a full moon baby on the 10th)
  2. Don't know what sort - don't know anything really! Have to wait and see - I haven't had a scan at all (and don't plan to!)
  3. Having a home birth, using a birthing pool. Hopefully!
  4. If it is a girl it will probably be Eleanor Amaris, if it is a boy I have no idea. DS wants to call it "Robert" (he really wants a brother) which was already on the shortlist, so that is a distinct possibility.
1stimer · 26/06/2003 23:46

Good thread

  1. 20 weeks, due date 9th Nov
  2. Don't know sex dp wants to know but my choice, however think its a girl, no reason just do!
  3. Local hospital, very basic thou as live north of Auckland in NZ and is very rural. Minimal intervention hopefully.
  4. Have decided for the time being but likely/probable to change when baby comes!...Zachary (zach) for a boy and Kristina for a girl.
bunnyrabbit · 27/06/2003 08:55

Excellent thread!!

  1. 31 weeks today due 29th August

  2. No as the hospital wouldn't tell me at my scan (frightened of being sued if they get it wrong, apparantly) I would like to know as I have friends offering me clothes, but never mind, s'long as it's a baby....

  3. Quick as possible!! Not allowed home birth as I'm 5'2" and DH is 6'2" and it's my first. Want a natural birth if poss but will have whatever drugs they/I think I need. Hoping for an 'Active' labour. Which means me chasing DH round the hospital with a cricket bat shouting "you b***d" at the top of my voice..... hey it's a good form of stress relief!!

  4. In serious trouble if it's a boy... not a clue

ANGELMOTHER · 27/06/2003 09:35

Lol Bunnyrabbit

Wills · 27/06/2003 09:40

Good thread

  1. 31 + 5, due August 24th
  2. Don't know but would like to. Feel like its a boy so we'll have to see if my intuition is right. DD is adament its a sister and crys when you talk about it being a boy.
  3. Would like homebirth but blood pressure is now rising so am trying not to get my hopes too high
  4. No names finalised.
