October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Morning ladies. Hope you enjoyed your rainy bank holiday weekends!

I am starting to feel vaguely human again - hurrah!

Am seeing MW this p.m. so hopefully will hear heartbeat and all will be well with Bean.

Hevster, yes, all 35wks (DS was early). Stayed on cyclizine all the way through though, which did not get rid of it completely but kept it just about under control. The HG website says under half of HG sufferers get it all the way through though, so chances are good.

missnicely is it your 1st? If so it would be normal not to feel movements til a bit later, more like 20 wks.

Hi all, Sounds like people are having a trying pregnancy. I am personally just shattered! But I have Hypothyroidism so am a generally tired person anyway!

Tizzy, welcome to the thread... Please don't worry and don't google stuff from the scans... I had my dating scan at 10 weeks and 3 days and was told that my babies insides were not in the right place... Thankfully one of my colleagues went through the same thing and advised that at such an early date, they weren't always in the right place, when I went back 2 weeks later sure enough everything was fine. I think that we often know too much and that we should let nature take it's course! Please try not to worry yourself I am sure it will all be fine!

My tummy popped over the weekend and is a proper pregnancy bump now! and keep feeling the baby moving around especially when I am in the bath.

Missnicely, to be fair it is anything between 16 and 21 weeks or something like that when you feel anything, I really wouldn't be looking too much into everything! At the end of the day everyone is different. My bump went from flabby to baby bump in a very short space.

Anyways can't believe that I am back at work after the bank holiday already! That went far far too quickly!

Morning all, cheers for info Jacksmybaby can i ask how many cylcizines you take a day as i have been trying to have 1 but it's not cutting the mustard anymore so thinking of upping it in the hope that it would help?

feel too rough to go to work today so going to make monumental effort to plant my Daliah bulbs but have horrible feeling that might be it for the day ah well at least the sun is shining in Wiltshire

babybunting glad your bump has popped!

Jacksmybaby · 04/05/2010 09:35

Hevster I am trying to stick to 1 a day too, first thing in the morning. A couple of days have had to take a second one as feeling crap again by mid-afternoon. Hard to find the balance between sickness and exhaustion, isn't it! You do build up tolerance to them so it's usual to need to up the dose after a while - IIRC you do also build up tolerance to the drowsiness too though, which is good.

babybunting I am hypothryoid too, are you getting good special care because of it? Have had my thyroxine dose upped and am having extra scans and seeing consultant.

Hevster · 04/05/2010 09:38

Jacksmybaby ah ha, reckon i am going wrong by not having it first thing in the morning will try that tomorrow and see if it helps - sometimes i am vv blonde!

babybunting2010 · 04/05/2010 12:31

Jacksmybaby, have been having regular blood tests and had my throxine upped and checked the other day, levels did go up to 8.6 but apparently they are normal at the moment, to be honest it didn't help that I was taking thyroxine at the same time as vitamins as the calcium part of the vitamin was picking up the thyroxine and stopping it from working properly! so fingers crossed I am ok at the moment, not having extra scans though, Doc's seem a little complacent to be honest! Oh well. Sounds like pregnancy is taking it's toll on you and Hevster, I hope you yummy Mummy's feel better soon and I am sorry you are having such a rough time! Don;t really understand half your posts if I am honest with you though as not getting the acronyms for a lot of it!

Anyway hope you feel better soon!

Hevster · 04/05/2010 13:05

babybunting there is an acronyms tab at the top of the page which explains most of them if that helps. Glad your levels are normal at the mo, lets hope they stay that way

Daynee · 04/05/2010 13:31

OMG - Is anyone DYING to know the sex? I find out on May 20th, and the doc said to bring a dvd so they can record it - CRAZY!
babybunting and Jacks - I have hypothyroid too and I upped my dose 50%. I was tested last month and it was 3.6, and last week it was .2! They say they like it to be between .3 and 3 because there's a theory that if it's higher, it may cause intellectual problems in the baby. Anyway, turns out I have to lower my dose a bit now - It's so wacky .

Jacksmybaby · 04/05/2010 14:10

Hi Daynee

I find out (hopefully - assuming Bean is in the right position so they can see) on 28th.

50% thyroxine increase sounds like a lot. I went up from 150mcg to 175 on consultant endocrinologist's advice although having blood tests next week and may have to come back down again too (consultant obstetrician thinks 175 may be too high).

Jacksmybaby · 04/05/2010 15:08

Heard Bean's heartbeat at MW apptmnt this p.m. s/he is doing well in there.

Some ketones present in urine but not enough to require hospitalisation .

All well otherwise.

p.s. thanks for well-wishes babybunting!

Hevster · 04/05/2010 15:43

Jacksmybaby glad MW apptm went well, sorry about ketones, hopefully they will improve with the cyclizine

scan date 25th May and hoping to find out sex so can either sell or keep girls clothes!

MummyBeth · 05/05/2010 12:33

Oh my are some of you reaching the 20 week stage??

I'm not having the anomaly scan until 2nd June. Def not going to find out the sex - I like the suspense and the guessing - I'm thinking girl.

Glad to hear you're all doing ok - if not yet 100%.

Mega busy here - MF appt tomorrow - not sure what'll happen but it's all an adventure for use first timers!

babybunting2010 · 05/05/2010 12:55

Have just had my 16 week check up although am 17 weeks and 4 days but have just found out that I am rhesus negative and that this may cause problems with the baby/labour etc...

Please tell me I am worrying over nothing and that everything will be ok! Have just started a thread to see if there are other Rhesus Negative Mums out there.

Also found Enterococcus Faecalis so am being re tested for that!

Heard the Baby's heart beat which was kind of amazing!!!!

Very at the moment! xxx

Daynee · 05/05/2010 13:12

Jacks - great news

baby - I don't know much about RH-negative but have heard you can get shots. What has the doctor advised?

FutureMum · 05/05/2010 13:38

Just had the anomaly scan yesterday - all well. It's a little girl : )
Feeling very, very happy. A bit like when you first fall in love and nothing else seems to matter. Can't concentrate on anything else and similar for my husband : )Will have to start thinking about getting stuff etc soon.
Sending good wishes to everyone!

congrats furturemum !!! mines a boy!! xxx

MummyBeth · 05/05/2010 15:45

Babybunting My mum is Rh- and had to have anti D injections for her 2nd, 3rd and 4th babies - although I think the injections were pretty painful but that was 25yrs+ ago - but we're all ok had normal births and no health problems!! I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think they just test your blood for antigens or antibodies or anti-something as if your baby is Rh+ve (The daddy to be may have to have his blood tested to see if he is +ve) it can mean that your body MAY attack the baby - not usually a problem in the 1st pregnancy but more of an issue in the 2nd as your body will attack quicker 2nd time round.

Congrats Future mum and enjoy all the pink things and you too KAty enjoy all the blue!

xxx

Hevster · 05/05/2010 17:25

Babybunting I have a friend who is Rh - and she just had to have injections at specific times and 1 after the birth, dont recall anything else and can't ask her as she's in Israel at the mo.

Futuremum and Katy - how exciting to already know

babybunting2010 · 06/05/2010 09:23

Futuremum and Katy Many congratulations! That's brilliant, don't know why it made me smile so much but think it's because it makes all our pregnancies feel more real! Enjoy picking out the pink and blue stuff!

Have been speaking to some other rhesus negative Mum's on another thread and seems that it's a big old nasty injection but hey ho!

Can't wait for the 24th now when we get to find out if we are having a girl or a boy! I secretly would love a girl but I really don't care as long as it's healthy and happy!

babybunting2010 · 06/05/2010 09:24

Oooh forgot to ask does anyone else have a proper little baby bump? Feel like I look really preggers! It's my first as well so no excuse to be showing so much already! x

RooBear · 06/05/2010 11:15

morning all, I'm the same babybunting its my first and have a little bump too! Its huge to me and no one else! we aren't finding out the sex so hope nothing shows on the scan to make me think one or the other!

Jacksmybaby · 06/05/2010 12:26

Congrats FutureMum and Katy86 very excited for you both! FutureMum that post is the cutest thing ever, so glad you are so happy.

babybunting have no experience/advice to offer but hope everything goes well with the injections etc.

RooBear IME there's no way you could tell what is what without the sonographer pointing the different bits out to you (and even then you can't really tell!) so if you tell them you don't want to know, you'll be none the wiser!

I would love a little girl too although DH wants another boy so DS can have a brother to play with (DH is very close to his little bro). Don't really mind either way though.

MummyBeth · 06/05/2010 12:37

Oh wow ladies - It's all getting so exciting!

Had my 16 week check up today and I keep thinking I have to be the luckiest mummy-to-be on the planet - all fine even heard the heartbeat and the baby kicking away!

Am sooo happy )

Roo We're not finding out either so just going to say to the sonographer before she gets started.

Enjoy election day!

[Grin]

Hevster · 06/05/2010 15:33

afternoon ladies, managed to go to work for a couple of hours today but paying the price now am home - can hardly move so knackered.
Will make it out to vote later though!

MummyBeth glad you got to hear the heart beat - nice innit.

don't mind what we have but getting impatient to find out so i can stop speculating in my head.

Jacksmybaby does the cyclizine completely take away your appetite coz i am so not hungry since i followed your advice and started taking it in the morning? (which is helping massively)

oh, and have large bump - def no hiding this little punter

Jacksmybaby · 06/05/2010 16:31

Hevster glad the tip re mornings worked. I have found I can't eat big meals but am getting hungry often so am eating lots of snacks (some healthy, some not ). Good to hear you made it back in to work - I have told them I will go in tomorrow (first time in about a month) but a bit apprehensive re commute as any form of travel = bad news at the moment.

Glad all went well at checkup MummyBeth . Hearing heartbeat is amazing isn't it.
