October 2010 babies?

Hi, I am a first-timer Mum to Be and Baby has been given a due date of 1 October. Very early dates still, so nervous and excited I cannot think about anything else! Planning not to tell family and friends till the first three months are over, but it's going to be tough!
Anyone else expecting an October baby out there?

Think I am too much of a coward to do it at home, though my Sister had a home birth for her second and she said that she really enjoyed it!

I have just called the Dr to pick up my Thyroid results and I have to go in to change my levels of Thyroxine..... Might explain why I've been feeling quite so awful!

Anyway have a nice weekend! xxx

Hermya321 · 12/03/2010 19:37

Nomorewine That sounds like a good response.

Babybunting I hope they get you sorted and how do they get away not giving you sick pay?

Allie Oh I am sorry you're ms is getting worse.

I'm getting shooting pains in my boobs at the moment, but on the upside I'm feeling quite good today. I expect I'll have a few days of feeling nice followed by days of feeling rubbish. It goes round and round it seems.

Nymphadora · 13/03/2010 08:12

hermya I get those too. It reminds me of the let down when bfeeding, I keep expecting to squirt milk.

dappymoo · 13/03/2010 08:36

My bloke just threw a slipper at me in jest and got my boob. He thinks it was hilarious... cue a ton of swearing and a bit of a tantrum...ow!

Hermya321 · 13/03/2010 09:27

Nymph Oooo is that what that is? Ow, nobody ever told me about that kind of stuff.

Dappymoo Ow as well!!!

Nymphadora · 13/03/2010 09:45

hermya I assume! It's very similar, boobs go heavy then pain?

MrsSenior · 13/03/2010 10:39

musicposy - bonio??? That kind of blows my mushroom soup obcession out of the water!

My Mum seems to have gone a bit baby mad,... my DH didn't want me to tell her until 12 weeks, but I couldn't help it, and now she's half way through knitting a matinee jacket already!! It's lovely she's so excited, but I just hope she's not getting too carried away lol.

This next 4 weeks is going to go so slowly!

My due date is also 14th Oct - DS(10) & DS(7 next week)

Hermya321 · 13/03/2010 16:46

Nymph I don't know about the boobs going heavy, but there is the occasional twinge. I'll have to keep an eye on that one. I've been kind of ignoring my boobs recently.

musicposy · 13/03/2010 18:09

The boob feeling is very much like the breastfeeding letdown reflex - so it'll be around for a long time to come! Although my boobs hurt so much, I kind of like it because it reminded me of breastfeeding and made me feel it is actually real!

My mum's really excited too, but is holding off on knitting etc for the moment. Like you, MrsSenior, I've got 4 weeks + before I can relax yet...

I went to the GP to see the midwife yesterday - I have to be referred to the hospital - they do all the antenatal stuff there. When I had my elder two, the midwife was based at the GPs and I only saw her - now it seems the GP sees you for some of it. It was all so different I couldn't quite grasp it. I was saying "refer me? Why do you need to refer me?"

I'm still really craving Bonios but no one will let me have one. The box promises lots of benefits (strong teeth, glossy coat) so I'm sure it would be good for me....

Katy86 · 15/03/2010 12:58

hello can i join your october baby club? I'm due 11th October 2nd baby sooo excited and soooo scared and a bit hormonal lol x

nomorewine · 15/03/2010 13:16

Think the hormonal bit has suddenly hit me. Was just thinking I was doing ok with that side of things, but this weekend I have had zero tolerence with the boys & when DP left to go home yesterday, I went & burst into tears. When he asked what was wrong I kept saying "I don't know!"
He did ask if the hormonal stage was a first 12 weeks thing, think he is hoping it is!!

nomorewine · 15/03/2010 13:16

Hello & welcome, Katy.

Katy86 · 15/03/2010 13:19

thank you nomorewine i hope the hormone stage passes soon otherwise i don't think ill have any friends left lol xx

sophieandbelly · 15/03/2010 14:26

welcome katy is this dc 1 for u??

i to am feeling very hormonal, and tired, slept for 10 hours last nite and still tired!!!
been and brought a pair of maternity leggings today, not that i have much of a belly but as a few of us had mentioned dont like pressure on tummy area at the mo, they basically finish under my bra!!! sooooo nice !!!

right now i am getting over my sickness about time i went back to slimming world i think, and take good care of me and the bean lots of scrummy food that wont make me size of house and keep that spd at bay!!

keep dreaming about this damn c-section thing after midwife mentioned it, everynite one nite the baby was 13 lb!!!! my god felt so real, i would be very shocked at a 13lber after my teeny tiny 6.5lb ickle girl!!

Katy86 · 15/03/2010 14:38

Hi Sophie!!

No this is number 2 for me i have DD Sienna shes going to be 4 in June....i have the same worries of having a big baby!! my daughter was 9lb 3oz so they said this time they will scan me regularly to make sure this ones not too big haha. Hopefully you have nothing to worry about if your DD was so teeny awww. 6lb she must have looked like a little dolly bless her. When is your one due? I have got maternity clothes too they look ridiculous but are sooo comfy haha
xx

dappymoo · 15/03/2010 14:55

I don't know why but I thought this thread was "Autumn babies". Duuuurrr! Although I'm not sure if I'm sept or oct and everyone makes me laugh on this thread so I may have to stay!

Off work today with a ridiculous cold, streaming nose which is now bright red and sore ooooowwwwww. But if it's my two month old cough finally exiting my system I shall be very glad..

In other news..... crapping myself about first scan tomorrow.... have convinced myself it's going to be bad news as haven't "felt" at all pregnant this week (apart from crippling tiredness of course....)

nomorewine · 15/03/2010 15:02

Good luck with the scan tomorrow - hope all goes ok. I am nervous about having mine in a few weeks too, as not sure I feel pregnant enough. Sure I am panicking about everything far more this time than in my other pregnancies.

Katy86 · 15/03/2010 15:05

Hi dappymoo i know alot of people who have had no symptoms in pregnancy in fact out of all my friends who have children im one of the only ones who has had morning sickness really bad and i didnt have it with my first so try not to be worried...let us know how it goes though and hope you feel better soon

x

dappymoo · 15/03/2010 15:07

It's so weird isn't it? Last week I was worrying about every ache and pain and this week I'm worrying that I have absolutely no aches and pains.... we can't win!

I also thought the other day, as this is my first, it could be that I will spend the rest of my life worrying about this little thing! My mum always says you never stop worrying... oh dear!!

Katy86 · 15/03/2010 15:26

haha thats very true i think you worry forever from the day u fall pregnant and then for the rest of your life...thats normal x

dappymoo · 15/03/2010 15:29

Thanks guys, I know it's stupid but last night I hardly slept and when I did I had nightmares about what they could see in there!

I doubt tonight will be different! ok now that's very negative, I must be positive!

nomorewine · 15/03/2010 15:30

It's true, and this is my third & the worrying is just as bad!

nunnie · 15/03/2010 15:47

Can I jump in here, may have to jump off in a few weeks and get on a November one though.

I think I am due 30/31st of Oct, not sure till scan exactly when.
Symptoms to date, need to sleep constantly, nausea all day, weeing none stop, headaches. Think that's it at the mo. 7 weeks tomorrow.
