When did you go into labour with DC1?

I've still got a long way to go, I'm only 22weeks. But just been reading my pregnancy bible, and it says term is anything from 37+. Just wondering when others went into labour with their first child? If it means waiting 3weeks less then brill!

40+12 - was induced 3 times.

40+6. Nice 32 hour labour in 34 C July heat, it was fucking ace.

38 weeks

helenwombat - my ds1 was born 37+0. he had jaundice/was sleepy and wouldn't feed/eye infection, so yes, had to go into special care for a few days on the billibed and be tube fed. that's why i am keeping my legs crossed this time - to avoid a 7 day hospital stay.

but then, both my sisters gave birth at 36 and 37 weeks respectively and their los were fine / home in a day or so.

not just to avoid 7 day hospital stay, obviously main concern is healthy baby (goes without saying, but just re-read my previous post and thought best to clarify!)

39+6, 8 hour labour

helen my DSis had her first at 37 weeks. She was skinny and quite yellow (my niece not my DSis) but otherwise quite fine and I think they left hospital the next day.

39+5 after a 3 hour labour. I had a fright the previous afternoon and I'm convinced it started things off in a hurry. If you want to start your labour off I can loan you a naughty dog with a tendancy to running away

40+4 with dd

38+1. It was spontaneous labour though. My waters broke and my contractions started quickly after (coming every 3-4 minutes about half an hour after my waters broke)

I went into labour at 39+5, waters started leaking the day before. He was due on his due date.

Wow, am really suprised by how many early 1st babies are listed here!.

Think you are generally expected to go a little "over" on your first, just so you are prepared for that.

I was induced with dd at 40+ 10

Highly unlikely but due date would be bliss this time .... (12 days to go!!)

Went into labour 2 days before due date around 5pm and DS arrived on his due date at 4:32am.

Went in to labour on 39+2, dd1 born 37 hours later on 39+3.

But almost everyone else I know went over, somewhat spectacularly with dc1, whereas I got earlier with each child!

Oh and my "slightly early" dd1 was 9lb12. Ds was next at 37+3 and he was 9lb3. Dd2 at 37+0 was 7lb15. Not all "early" babies are tiny!

DS1 was born on his due date! DS2 was born 9 days late!

Remember due dates arent certain.
I've been given 3 different due dates during this pregnancy at each scan.
First it was april 15th, then april 10th, then april 12th

youch!

DS1 labour started on the day he was due but went into the early hours of the following morning before he was born.
Ds2 was 10 days early. I hadn't even started my mat leave!!

39wks - No contractions just bleeding/waters going, and was already 9cm.

The other 2 where evicted at 41+2 and 41+6
