Hello Panda, Rainbow and anyone else in this situation. Let's hold each other's hands through these first few terrifying weeks

Panda - I am also wondering how you are today? I hope it is not what you feared.

PandaEis · 06/01/2010 14:39

hi

thanks for thinking of me xx

it is definitely over i lost ALOT of clots last night and then more today with pains aswell the bleeding is very heavy aswell so im not holding any hope for it being ok i have been trying to get through to the GP but due to the bad weather i think they are closed i think i am going to ask for a day 21 test as through all of the tests i have had i have NEVER had one of those!! the excuse was that my ovulation was so irregular that it wouldnt be worth doing maybe progesterone levels are the problem...well we'll see

HeighHo · 06/01/2010 17:42

Oh Panda, I'm really sorry that it is bad news . That's a good idea to get a day 21 test and any other test that you've not had. Take it easy. I hope your husband can look after you for a while. So sorry.

Will keep fingers crossed for you on Monday.

HeighHo · 07/01/2010 10:15

Thanks, Oops, will keep fingers crossed for you tomorrow too. Sorry, can't remember if you said you had any DC already?

oopsandbabycoconut · 07/01/2010 10:39

Yes I have a 16month old DD who took 12 years to concieve! after my last m/c in july we weren't expecting another pg for ages when this little one came along and shocked us all!

MumNWLondon · 07/01/2010 10:51

Panda - if you have irregular ovulation you need to do temperature chart to work out what day to do day 21 test on - its only worth doing 7 days post ovulation though (or you get false negative - ie that you didn't ovulate) - do not take irregular ovulation as excuse, tell GP you will be able to work out exactly when you ovulated. Temp chart can also shed light on progesterone in 2nd part of cycle.

rainbowdays · 07/01/2010 17:06

oops - hope scan goes well tomorrow

heighho - yep loads of lovely gentle symptoms, was very nauseaous this morning, but then remembered that last night I took a multivitamin, and that with all my previous pregnancies it made me feel sick,,,,, , will give the multivitamin a miss today I think.

Panda - I hope you are ok? When you are ready to try again, I echo what mumnhL says about charting, to check regarding ovulation and getting your bloods done at ovulation+7days. Can be day +6,7,8 or 9, and will still give a fairly accurate result. Charting might also help in case there are any other issues too, but I would also add about checking CM as well as temping. But I am sure at the moment you just need some time to greive for you little one just lost first. Take care of yourself.

HeighHo · 07/01/2010 17:22

Hi all, hope you are getting lots of gentle hugs, Panda.

Not getting any symptoms, which is worrying, so have to keep telling myself, NO BLOOD = STILL PREGNANT!!

Really, no nausea, sore nips or anything else that I was getting, but it's OK, no blood, no blood, no blood...

OP posts:
rainbowdays · 08/01/2010 09:10

heighho - yes- you are still pregnant..... don't worry about the no symptoms, does not mean anything. Hopefully your scan will help you feel assured a bit.

opps - hope the scan goes well today, thinking of you.

HeighHo · 08/01/2010 16:30

Thanks, Rainbow, yes am counting down the days til Monday .

Sorry if TMI, but can't really tell anyone else, but I keep getting leaky feelings and have to rush to the loo to check. So far, no blood, but can't remember is this is normal??!

How did things go Oops?

OP posts:
oopsandbabycoconut · 08/01/2010 17:07

Hi All

Scan went amazingly well. We had a fantastic sonographer who went through absolutely everything from her head to her toes. Showing us that all was well with things we were worried about, He did a detailed heartscan and kidney scan (DH's cousin had a baby with these problems which we were told were genetic)

HeighHo - I had the gushing feeling too - MW said it is the cervix sealing up and there is extra discharge because of this.

Rainbow - how are things with you?

HeighHo · 08/01/2010 17:11

Aah, Oops, that's lovely about the scan, what good news and what a good sonographer .

Thanks for reassurance about 'gushing' it can happen several times a day - that seems quite a lot

hey Rainbow, how're you?

OP posts:
rainbowdays · 08/01/2010 20:51

I have had a bit of a wobble day today. Emotionally I thought I want to know what my progesterone levels were last week and my hcg levels, so I tried to get the results, only to find out that I couldn't get them..... hcg - they would not tell me over the phone, and eventually after getting the private clinic to ring the hospital, I found out that my blood is sitting in a freezer as the hospital policy is to send progesterone levels off in batches, and I could be waiting a long time! Why they could not have told me this at the time I do not know. Anyway the stress has made me doubt a little, and my positivity has taken a big knock.

Oops - great to hear you had such a good scan, so reassuring, and very happy for you.

heigh - I have the gushing a few times each day too.... but do recognise it as being normal at this stage = phew!

Please come and handhold with me a while, I am so nervous, I am getting into the stage at which most of my losses have happened. I need to regain my positivity.

HeighHo · 08/01/2010 21:20

Oh Rainbow, sorry you're feeling glum and had a frustrating time with the clinic. It's not surprising you're wobbling with your history.

yes, it could go wrong, but you could also carry on being pregnant. Think of Oops who has had 5 mc, and is pregnant now having done nothing different.

My consultant said he thought we'd just been unlucky with our mcs, and at our age it maybe isn't surprising to have the odd dodgy egg/sperm. But also with 3 previous children you've obviously had good eggs/sperm in the recent past and there's no reason to think they've all suddenly gone dodgy, you'll hit a good one soon and maybe this one is it

Remind me when your previous mc were.

oopsandbabycoconut · 08/01/2010 21:24

Rainbow Sometime hospitals are crap! I rang our surgery for blood results yesterday and were told they didn't have them and it may have missed the blood wagon to the hospital on the day they took it, so I rang the hospital who wouldn't tell me the results on the phone. Take day by day, today you have made it through another day and then take on tomorrow. Did you get your HCG? has it increased?

rainbowdays · 09/01/2010 06:25

Thank you for the hand holding, much needed today. I am up and feeling very tired having had a mild asthma attack in the night. I have been coughing and wheezing most nights and guess the tiredness is catching up with me. I don't have asthma - everyone else in my family does, but during my pregnancies I have had the odd asthma bout, so I guess it is a good sign

Panda, in answer to your question regarding when my previous miscarriages were, I had one in July 07, the month before I was pregnant with my third child. All the other miscarriages have been since then: Dec 08, Jan 09,Jun 09, Aug 09 and Nov 09. They have varied from being at 4 weeks to 6w5d. So obviously I am right in the middle of a worrying time, being 5weeks today.

opps - they have put the hcg level results in the post!!!! but the blood was drawn on the 2nd and 4th Jan, so of no real use now, unless I get another hcg blood test done! I should get the results in the monday post delivery, as long as the post gets out our way depending on the weather!!!! You are right though I should remember to keep taking it day by day and not worry about tomorrow. You are an inspiration, showing it can be done.

Today, I will work on getting back my positive mental attitude.

HeighHo · 09/01/2010 09:11

Sorry Rainbow, I actually meant what stage of pregnancy, but you answered that too . So getting to 7 weeks would be a HUGE milestone for you. Will hold your hand til you get there.

How horrid to have a disturbed night and worrying asthma - makes everything worse and fewer resources/strength to deal with worries and concerns, so be gentle and kind to yourself today - you're still pregnant, that's good news

Decided to go to doctor at emergancy clinic today about my chest. I am wheezing so dr has put me on steroid tablets and antibiotics, to go along with the asprin and progesterone, I feel like a medicine cabinet right now. I hope that it is not doing the baby harm, but still trying to think positive. So having looked into all causes from recurrent miscarriage, looks like I have covered all bases now.... hormonal - got the progesterone, blood clotting disorder - got the asprin, infection including GBS - got the antibiotics, and natural killer cells - got the predniolone..... so on the thinking positive, there is no way I can possibly have a miscarriage right now !!!!! One thing less to worry about while I recover from this latest illness.

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/01/2010 19:51

Rainbow - I had an asthma attack at 6 weeks and had 40mg of prednisolone for 5 days and they said the risk of me being on a ventilator was greater than the risk of the steriods to the baby, I also had anti-Bs at the same time. Take it easy and rest as much as possible.

HeighHo - how you doing today?

rainbowdays · 10/01/2010 07:55

Opps - thank you for reassuring me, and I am resting as much as I can.

Heighho - will be thinking of you as you go for scan tomorrow, I hope we will be able to turn the very cautiously excited to less caustiously excited.

I have just posted on another thread about having pain/discomfort, it is just on my right hand side, and so I am assuming that rather than a m/c symptom, it is a cyst, and this is a good sign that it will be producing plenty of hcg for me. I am ok just to ignore this pain am I not?!
