What is everyone planning to wear when they leave hospital after giving birth?

It's probbaly for the best... this morning I was thinking it was toss-up between going on MN and getting the kids ready to get to church on time.

Looks like I'll be at church on time after all

Louder Trinity. I'll play the tambourine - I'm tone deaf.

Still broke?
Who's going to join me in 'back to school in the morning' preparedness? PE bags, uniform, projects. What have I forgotten?

YEY, they heard me, its back!

BikeRunSki · 01/11/2009 10:30

By the time were actually discharged, I would have left naked, just to leave. In the cut new fashion frontiers in a black stretchy maternity dress, white opaque surgical stockings and pink crocs.

Longtalljosie · 01/11/2009 10:33

I wore what I went in in - maternity t-shirt, maternity denim skirt and birkenstocks. I had another outfit packed but it involved jeans and I was too bruised to consider anything trouser-like

Salemchocolates · 01/11/2009 10:35

I purposely choose a skirt with ds. I bought especially for the occasion as it was my 1st baby and I didn't know any better . With dd1 I went in wearing a dress and came out wearing the same.
My reasons for wearing a dress/skirt: I was scared trousers might hurt any stitches I might have and did have.
So I'd say something loose fitting, yoga pants would fit the bill too I think.

cyteen · 01/11/2009 10:44

I'm impressed with all the people that went home wearing the same outfit they went in with. I sweated so much during the initial phase of labour alone that my clothes were almost unsalvageable.

Salemchocolates · 01/11/2009 10:51

But I didn't labour in those clothes. I swapped into my birth nighty the minute I got to the hospital because my normal clothes were too hot, it being November and December.

monkeysmama · 01/11/2009 12:23

I ended up wearing a special shirt & maternity jeans. We didn't know if we were having a boy or girl. The name we had for a girl means something & I bought a shirt with that on. We had a girl so I wore the shirt & one of my favourite photos is of us 2 walking into our house for the first time with me covered in her name image. So if her name is Butterfly I had a shirt with butterflies on (she's not called Butterfly btw!!) I sound a bit mad - I wanted baby very much & was very excited!!
