What is everyone planning to wear when they leave hospital after giving birth?

OP posts:

with DS - maternity joggers and DH's t-shirt

with DD i left in my pyjamas (left hospital 2.5hrs after giving birth and didn't see the point in getting dressed to go home)

Snufflebufty · 31/10/2009 22:37

same as mumblecrumble.... big pants and comfy trousers are the way forward!!!

I'll second the flip flops for the shower... they were quite minging now that I think of it, but after a emergency c section, I thought the shower I had on the ward the next morning was the best thing in the world. Looking back, I can understand why I got an infection in my wound

Sorry for hijack but this is the only thread I can get hold of - much blank page everywhere else, is it just that I've been banned or something, or is anyone else having a problem? Thanks...

Looking at OP btw, I think I wore a pair of gingery brown cords, and a dark red jumper.

That was ds1 and I was back to pre preg weight immediately (can you have self envy)

ds2 it took me a while longer but had him at home so was just naked for a while then put on a nightie!

I hate the way your stomach stays all strange and wobbly after you've had a baby. I think if I have any more it might stay like that permanently. Took a month or two to flatten out again last time.

Ewe · 01/11/2009 07:46

Mine is broken too, rubbish

BudaBones · 01/11/2009 08:08

This is the only thread I can get too. Very weird.

And I have been up for hoooourrs! No fun without MN.

Does Tech think he is working for the Royal Mail or has he gone out in sympathy or something?

BudaBones · 01/11/2009 08:14

LOL at Flight thinking she was banned! Actually we could have had great fun pretending MN was fine for us! (Sorry Flight - I wouldn't really!)

DottyDotsOfBloodOnTheFloor · 01/11/2009 08:21

me too - reporting in to the only thread I can get in to (apologies for not adding to the actual thread - can't remember what I wore when I left hospital!)

Babieseverywhere · 01/11/2009 08:22

Maybe Tech is very interested in what we all wore post birth

Broken Mumsnet is no fun

monkeysmama · 01/11/2009 08:22

I wondered the same thing Flight & was trying to think what I'd done to be kicked off.

While I'm here - I took my leaving hospital gear very seriously and had 2 outfits with me so I could see how I felt. One thing I will not do next time is let mil take my photo on her camera 2 hours post labour and then send it to all her friends and family before realising that my boob is hanging out of my pj top.

unfitmother · 01/11/2009 08:22

grrr - this is annoying!

Babieseverywhere · 01/11/2009 08:23

Maybe it a reverse of Narniagate and we only have one thread to bitch on, from now on

DottyDotsOfBloodOnTheFloor · 01/11/2009 08:24

like back to basics Mumsnet!

I think I've pressed on every button now - definitely nothing working except this thread - freaky leaky...

Sure MN Towers will notice soon?!

DottyDotsOfBloodOnTheFloor · 01/11/2009 08:31

Hmm - well I've e-mailed Mumsnet although hopefully they know by now. Maybe it's just us in this alternative MN world and everyone else is happily MNing away...

FritesMenthe · 01/11/2009 08:37

Ooh, I've found you all. Wierd!
Have no idea what i wore home from hospital though, so can't contribute anything meaningful to the thread.

DottyDotsOfBloodOnTheFloor · 01/11/2009 08:38

Hello!

Maybe it's a MN secret test - to find out which of us have no lives are the most persistent in getting access...!

FritesMenthe · 01/11/2009 08:42

Do you think there are other threads that other people can get on, with the same convo? We're all in little scret cells...

RascalMama · 01/11/2009 08:49

hello I too am in the 'alternative MN world'

Might as well add my post birth outfit now I'm here I think i came home in leggings, flats and baggy but nice semi-maternity top.

If you have a c section i'd def recommend a pillow to put between you and the seatbelt. You will feel every stone that the car drives over

DottyDotsOfBloodOnTheFloor · 01/11/2009 08:52

ooooh - I think there are more people out there on another thread! When I pressed refresh I saw a thread title saying something like "Help has MN Broken?" but then it disappeared before I could click on it...

It's like Lost (even though I've never seen it - this is how I imagine it to be! )

Babieseverywhere · 01/11/2009 08:53

I can get to this thread too www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/853081-HELP-is-MN-broken-Sorry-for-weird-topic-choice

DottyDotsOfBloodOnTheFloor · 01/11/2009 08:56

Yes - just managed to click on it in time when it flashed up on the right hand side - but the link is much better!

Come on MN Towers - someone must be up by now?!

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 01/11/2009 08:56

Ooo another thread.
