I am suffering SPD (for the second time) and just need to vent without driving everyone else on my pregnancy thread mental. Not that they aren't supportive but I still have 20 weeks to go and I don't want to ruin their pregnancies by talking about mine!

Please come and join me so I don't feel so alone, and feel free to share tips if you have any....

LooL00 · 29/05/2010 19:44

Don't worry mrsM I'm sure your DH will realise sooner or later that the only thing you can do is the bare minimum. It takes some of us a while to face up to how little we can do and the DPs are one step behind.

Glad the belt's helping mrsS and great idea to find out from that other physio if there's anyone around who's good at spd treatment.

I do hope no news is good news for you KT.

I ate with the kids as DH has driven FIL to a family do, so I'm lying on the sofa eating cashew nuts and drinking ribena.Just because I'v got 2 DC and am pg it doesn't mean I can't enjoy myself on a saturday night!

MrsMiamla · 29/05/2010 19:53

nice idea to have a treat but no chance, I'm either at work or at home looking after DS. DH is still being a fucking twat. Cooked dinner just for himself. disappeared for half an hour in the car, i had no idea where he was or going to. He's told me he can't cope with doing anything extra than he already is so that means that i have to just get on with things. fuck him. i really hope he's out tomorrow as well. all he's done since getting back today is upset me and cause an atmosphere for DS. i feel like running away but no way i'd leave ds and as i've discovered, i can't do road trips with DS at the moment. i'm trapped here so my hope is that he'll go out.he's currently laughing and joking with a friend on the phone, whilst i'm sitting here crying. oh joy, he's woken DS now

LooL00 · 29/05/2010 20:02

Oh mrsM poor you, make yourself something to eat, have a nice bath and go to bed. Maybe things will seem better in the morning.Don't even think of trying to win your argument while you're so tired.

xMrsSx · 29/05/2010 20:30

oh noooo, MrsM men really can be so insensitive sometimes and hours/days later when you are still upset and brooding about it and waiting for an apology he'll be all bright and breezy and over it as if nothing has happened.... well if he's anythin glike my DH anyway . Get all the crying out, i reckon it does you good once in a while. Then maybe you might get chance to talk to DH when you are feeling less upset/angry so you can be logical and raationale and he doesn't have that excuse to throw at you.

LooLOO I can see you are a woman who knows how to live... cashews AND ribena... honestly, you are living the life of the rich and famous!

whimsicalname · 30/05/2010 09:55

mrsm i hope a new day has brought a change of heart from your husband, and you're feeling better.

I had no sleep last night as neighbours having a party ALL NIGHT. They're nice folk, and don't do it that often, so i try not to mind, but when I found a bunch of party goers sitting on my doorstep, under my bedroom window, at 7am, enjoying the morning sun, I completely lost it. I don't think they knew what had hit them, poor stoned hippies, having a hugely pregnant woman creep up behind them and shout until they ran away. Grrr.

any news kt? we're all on tenterhooks here!

LooL00 · 30/05/2010 10:50

Everyone is very badtempered this morning in the LooL00 household. DC are overtired as it's half term and they havn't wound down yet, DH is tired and the DC won't stop jumping on him so he has taken them out for a walk and I'm badtempered because I need a break from effing SPD. An spd holiday of 24 hours woud do me. I'd have a really good tidy of the house, move all the clothes I actually wear in to the top drawer, vacuum all the places that DH forgets and wash the sofa cover. Then I'd go out for coffee and come back and take to the sofa again. Actually 12 hours would do me but 24 would be better as I might get a good sleep. What would you do with your spd holiday?

Hope you're feeling better mrsM, hope they stop partying soon whimsi and hope you enjoyed your egg and chips mrsS. kt can't decide whether to be worried that they're still trying to induce you (surely not?) or to assume that you're fast asleep on postnatal.

ktwiltshire · 30/05/2010 15:06

hi ladies! finally had the baby! after trying all 3 prostiglandins, breaking my waters and going on the drip, we only got to 4cm and as i was already on maximum hormone drip we have it a bit of time but she just got distressed so we ended up with an emergency csection! she was born at 6.08pm on saturday 29th may weighing in at impressive 6lb11oz despite only being 37+3. she is called Sophie anna Wiltshire. we are recovering well. after a lot of nerves and pain i finally managed to have a shower earlier today thanks to a fantastic midwife who was gentle and encouraging at the same time! also i managed to go to the toilet and back in my room with no crutches! its the best i've moved in a long time. i think my muscles will take a long time to build up again but im pretty confident so far! but that might be the morphine talking!

LooL00 · 30/05/2010 15:35

Congratulations and what a lovely name! Starting a big SPD sofa mexican wave!

whimsicalname · 30/05/2010 19:06

Congrats KT. I've been checking in every couple of hours for news! Addict...

All the very best for you and sophie anna for a speedy recovery from everything.

Nothing moving here, couple of twinges after a 'brisk walk' (waddle to end of road) but all gone again. I'm now overdue and mighty cross!

xMrsSx · 30/05/2010 20:41

CONGRATULATIONS kt I am so happy for you and your family. Who cares if it's the morphine talking?? You sound fantastic, well done!!!

whimsi keep up the waddling!!

You are all going to leave me soon!! Apart from you MrsM aren't you a similar gestation to me? How are you doing today? Hope you are feeling a bit more chirpy???

We should have an SPD get together, mind you, we probably all live at different ends of the country don't we? I am in Lancashire.

LooL00 · 31/05/2010 10:53

Don't worry mrsS we won't leave you on your own on the sofa, it took me a while to get better after dc2 so i expect I'll be seeing the physio after this one. I live on the south coast so I'm not sure we'll manage an spd get together but maybe at some point we should start an spd postnatal thread. I'm not moving off the spd sofa for a while though.
Anyone else worried about mrsM?

xMrsSx · 31/05/2010 13:21

Thanks LooLOO, though obviously happy for everyone who gets to leave the sofa cos then you are bck to normal (ish).

Bit worried about MrsM but hopefully she is just taking a bit of a break??

SPD postnatal sounds like a good idea but a long long way off for me still, I'm sure the time will fly by!

I'm off to work later til half 10 tonight so going to see if the belt helps me there at all.

Hope you are back home soon kt if you aren't already!

And whimsi, might no news from you be good news??

LeoniPoni · 31/05/2010 13:30

kt Hurray! Thats wonderful news! You've chosen a beautiful name. I'm delighted for you!

Oh ladies! Doesn't it give you hope for an end to this pain? I'm now 37+3 and keep crying in frustration that I can't do ANYTHING! I just lie on the couch like a beached whale and I'm not even comfortable then!

whimsicalname · 31/05/2010 20:34

sorry ladies, no news is just ill child news. Have now decided not to have the baby til the big boy is better. I'm hoping the reverse psychology will have an impact.

Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend.

I was thinking about a post natal spd thread too! coincidence... Though at the moment i'm not actaully convinced i'm ever going to be post natal

scotsgirl23 · 31/05/2010 20:51

Congratulations KT! Glad to hear you are recovering well - I can't believe how quickly the SPD went away post section. I'm now just over 2 weeks since mine, and I have very very little SPD pain at all, just the odd twinge when turning onto or off my side. I managed to walk 1.5 miles today when I could barely leave the house before.

There is hope ladies! I honestly felt like mmy pregnancy would never end and was so scared it wouldn't go afterwards.

ktwiltshire · 01/06/2010 07:20

thanks so much girls. im trying very hard to reduce down and off the oramorph so that i can go home later today or tomorrow. the physio referral has been done, so hopefully should see someone today and the community referral has been made as well. just so pleased i can move as much as i can already! also my milk has come in overnight and i haven't tried to kill anyone so its all seeming well for my hormones. finally been moved to a shared ward so im not too keen on the volume levels!

xMrsSx · 01/06/2010 07:29

Sounds like you are doing well kt, hope everything contines to improve by leaps and bounds.

and it definately does give us hope!!!

whimsi hope your LO gets better soon, good luck with the reverrse paychology.... I don't think you should have the baby yet either shhhhh.....

Still no MrsM???

Leoni - I m like a beached whale too but I am only 19+4!!! Hee

LooL00 · 01/06/2010 09:03

Great that things are improving scotsgirl and kt. whimsi hope you dc gets better soon.

Hi leoni I'm sooo fed up with not being able to do ANYTHING, I dropped the tv remote on the floor yesterday and it smashed to smithereens and all I could do was stand there waiting for DH to come and pick up the pieces.
Hi mrsS
Got to go and find out from MN what else I can take for heartburn as Gaviscon has stopped working and I didn't sleep much . I've given up on the GP as it is just constantly engaged.

whimsicalname · 01/06/2010 12:51

Thanks everyone. the boy's on the mend - enough to be packed off for a play date anyway, and my husband has an unexpected day off work, so we're just off for a cheeky lunchtime curry.

good to hear some positive post section stories too! I'm hoping to have this one at home, like the last two. the idea of being able to walk more than a mile is so exciting!

LeoniPoni · 01/06/2010 13:36

Whimsi You can walk a mile?? Oh god, I'm pathetic! The stairs up to the bedroom make me cry! You must be made of stronger stuff!

Glad your little boy is on the mend! Hope you and your husband have a well deserved relaxing lunch!

MrsS and LooL00 I'm glad I'm not the only beached whale/unbendable lady!

I'm literally counting down the hours til my due date. 16 days 10.5 hours. I'm so fixated on the countdown as an end to my pain I don't know how I'll handle it if that day comes and goes and I'm still preggers! I'll be begging to be induced I think!

LooL00 · 01/06/2010 15:54

Finally got through to the GP so now have something better than gaviscon (I had 3/4 of a bottle last night and that's the big size!), but had to drive to the gp and back to get it. New mattress has arrived so maybe with my new drug and the new mattress I might actually get some sleep. I could quite happily go up now but the dc would join me and that would hurt.
i'm counting the days too but cheating and so is DH ,we're both saying 4 more weeks, but I'm only 34w5d, DC1 did arrive at 38w6d so who knows?Got to go and make a garlek ( as in dr who and the garleks) with the dc, can't ignore them much longer.
leoni I'm not sure if I can even walk 25 metres without landing up in agony, havn't walked a mile since February.

whimsicalname · 01/06/2010 17:56

no no no I can't walk a mile. I just saw that scotsgirl did. I can walk about 150 m - to the corner shop. If i'm very careful, and not carrying more than a pint of milk, i can walk back again too. But then that's me for the day, and i'm sitting down to 'cook' supper.

Sorry - wasn't showing off! lovely curry for lunch, thanks. swiftly followed by half a bottle of gaviscon which i expect will counteract the desired effects.

LeoniPoni · 01/06/2010 18:04

Aaaah whimsi! Sorry to hear you're not the Super Woman I thought you must be, you do well struggling backwards and forwards to the shop though! I know it won't be easy. Still something to be proud of!

Glad you had a yummy lunch! I haven't had a curry for ages! Might order an Indian takeaway this weekend, see if it gets things moving along!!

LooL00 I will count you in my daily prayers to the Goddess of Bloody Hurrying Up to have an earlier rather than later birth!

whimsicalname · 01/06/2010 18:07

i wouldn't hold your breath on the old curry. I haven't had a meal that wasn't spicy for days. not even a twinge. tempting to blame the gaviscon chasers.

maybe i should try prunes?

MrsMiamla · 01/06/2010 20:28

sorry girls didn't mean to worry you. Finally sorted things out with DH, he's doing alot more round the house (without being nagged/asked) and we had a lovely day altogether on Monday. He even ran me a bath and helped me in/out of it!

been to work today now sitting down to recover! very very pleased i'm only working today this week. soooo kt, you've got a baby!! congratulations! (apologies if i'm repeating myself but i'm guessing if you're still on morphine that you won't notice nor mind!)

i can manage walking about 1/3 of a mile before pain kicks in so just need to make sure i walk in a circle!
