I've just discovered I am 5.5 weeks pregnant.

In the last 2 years I have had 2 mcs and our dd2 was stillborn at term.

So I don't feel like I fit into the antenatal threads, and don't want to frighten anyone with my experiences.

Anyone else out there who needs a gentle thread?

Morning all,
Lunatic, nice to see you.. Glad that you are having tests, keeping everything crossed for you.
Trish, I didn't mean to offend you, I was just explaining why sadly some of us will never be able to get excited or stop worrying however far into the pregnancy we are. Try not to let our fears rub off on you too much. I wish I could get some of that enjoyment back. I hope very much that you are getting through the hideous anxiety of the first tri ok. A lot of us have been there as well

Woolly - hope the scan goes well this week
Onebaby - hope you are doing well.

Its so good to get another week over. I have 3 weeks and 4 days left and really feeling a bit paralysed by anxiety now. Also wish that I could finish work! But tbh, I would probably be more anxious if I had more time on my hands.
Im seeing the anaesthetist today and then consultant on wednesday which seems to make it feel all the more real scarily enough..
Speak soon,
rx

TrishF · 13/04/2010 05:45

Woollyjo - good luck with your scan on Thursday. I hope you get a date.

Mrsrvc - please don't think I was offended. On the contrary I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and support on this thread. I think I'm just accepting the lack of a 'wahoo' moment in this pregnancy, if you know what I mean.

Only a short journey so far compared to most of you but 10 weeks this Friday feels like an enormous milestone.

OneBabyPlease · 13/04/2010 18:36

Hey Mrs - how did the anaethetist appointment go? Hope you're feeling ok & your consultant appointment tomorrow goes well.
I'm good thanks - super active baby which I assume is a good sign! Got my 32 week scan at the end of next week to see if my placenta's moved (C-section anyway too so shouldn't be a problem). I'm unbelievably tired (this pregnancy lark hasn't been much fun - daily injections/nosebleeds/had my nose to cauterised last week but hasn't helped/constantly knackered/terrible hayfever but can't take anything/hands & feet have started swelling etc etc - oh joy!) but I'm grateful to still be pregnant & looking forward to a happy end result I hope! I've had a huge sudden growth spurt & am quite uncomfortable already. We also complete on our new home at the end of this week so decorating next week before moving in - not TOO much going on then!

Woolly - good luck for your scan this week & push hard for that date! Hope you get one.

Trish - everyday is a milestone so well done on getting to 10 wks & hope you have a long & happy journey.

Hope everyone else is doing well too xx

woollyjo · 15/04/2010 15:34

Got my date! 28th May 8am - I'll be bang on 38 weeks, had to get a bit teary mind but now I feel I can start to get organised.

Scan was fine, another in 3 weeks, she's 4lb 9oz thay reckon so about 7lb + at birth maybe.

How did you get on Onebaby? your's will be our first on this thread!

Excellent news Woolly!! So pleased for you! Not long now.
Think you've got me mixed up with Mrs in your excitement! I'm sure she'll be our first on the thread? My approximate C-section date at the moment is 12/06/10 but I won't know for definite for another few weeks.
Just waiting for the solicitor to call around lunchtime to say we've completed & we can pick up the keys for our new home! SO excited! Just moving/decorating to get o9ut of the way before I can relax for a little bit!
Hope everyone else is having a good week

TrishF · 16/04/2010 16:05

That's fantastic WoollyJo! I'm really pleased for you - now you have a date to work down to! Great that you'd getting lots of scans too.

Mrsrvc - how did you get on with the anaesthetist?

OneBabyPlease - can't believe you're going through all that AND moving house! You sound like superwoman! Has the solicitor been round to confirm you've completed yet? Hope you get everything done before the 12th!

Enjoy the sunny weekend we've got coming up everyone!

Trish

OneBabyPlease · 17/04/2010 18:21

I dunno about Superwoman - I'm knackered!! Got the keys but haven't been able to start decorating yet as DH & I are both working all weekend too! I am loving working full time, moving home AND being 7.5 months pregnant all at the same time - NOT! Can't wait to get in there, get the barbie going & chill out in the garden (we haven't got one where we are now - how exciting!). Should be about 10 days before we actually move - come on!
Hope everyone who's lucky enough to not be working this weekend is enjoying the sunshine!
Take care all xx

woollyjo · 17/04/2010 20:55

Glad you got the house (nearly) sorted Onebaby we moved 4 weeks before DD1 was born but we are still working on the place as it was a bit of a state.

Yep - the sun is addling my brain - Mrs hope you are fine.

We rearranged the furniture in DD's bedroom today to fit in the cot (wanted to get it up in good time so its not lots of changes all at once) baby will be in with us at first unless she is too huge for a basket or snores like her sister.

Went to a local kite festival today (lots of sitting/ running about in the sunshine)down to the allotment tomorrow.

OneBabyPlease · 22/04/2010 09:20

Hey everyone - hope you're all ok?
I'm shattered - painting the new home as quickly as possible like lunatics, hopefully moving in next Friday. Loads to do! And working full time - love it!! Arrggh!

I've got my 32 week scan tomorrow to see if I've still got a low placenta - looking forward to seeing my boy for the last time before he's actually out.

For the first time in my life I've got long nails - must be a hormone thing - loving it! After feeling pretty ill for most of the pregnancy this is definitely a highlight for me!!

Woolly I love the little things you get up to - I have this rose-tinted idea that you are living 'The Good Life' - always sounds so lovely & rural!

Is everyone else alright? xx

woollyjo · 22/04/2010 10:23

Hah! if the good life involves alot of mud and living on an old council estate then that's us! We live in Shropshire, in a town, but DH grew up near Wembly so thinks its rural, the countryside is never far away though.

Well done with getting everything decorated etc. I wish I had your energy. I'm feeling very strung-out at the moment and it doesn't seem to take much to tip me over the edge. I'm not normally a weeper but I've been doing my fair share this week couldn't say if its hormones, anxiety or grieving, work is very busy too (8 more days to go!).

Just trying to keep it together for now - 33 weeks tomorrow ......

OP posts:
mrsrvc · 22/04/2010 13:04

Hello All,
Onebaby, sounds like you have tons of energy getting on with all the decorating.
Wooly, In know what you mean about teary. Not long now though, although if you are like me, it simply cannot go fast enough.

Well I now have two weeks left, and am driving myself mad with anxiety. My counselor came back today after 3w off ( good timing...) and it was such a good session. I really let it all out. Hoping to be able to get through the next two weeks.

Speak soon,
rx

woollyjo · 22/04/2010 18:41

Yep, I'd have her tomorrow just to know she is safe and well.

Had a better day today but the weeks are really dragging by..

OP posts:
OneBabyPlease · 22/04/2010 21:30

I have NO energy whatsoever! Just a desperate need to get stuff sorted before we start getting beds & mattresses delivered, phone lines installed next week - as well as packing, sorting a 'man with a van' etc!!! I'm beyond exhausted! I can't WAIT till it's all done! I just can't imagine being able to relax! Have even broken some of my new lovely long nails - gutted!!

Woolly & Mrs - the next few weeks are obviously going to be difficult but I hope it all goes quickly for you both. If it's any consolation I am also a teary, weepy wreck, I can't remember the last day I didn't sob my heart out! My hormones are raging. DH thinks I've lost the plot I think!

9.30pm - bedtime soon - I'm so rock'n'roll!! Need some Zzzz's before yet another day up to my eyes in gloss & emulsion! You know when you really wish you hadn't started something . . .?!

Night night all!!!

mrsrvc · 23/04/2010 11:52

Hey there,

Onebaby I am sure that it will all be sorted before the LO makes and appearance. try to make sure that you don't overdo it ...

Woolly exactly - I will not really rest until I know he is out here and safe.

Well I went for my growth scan today and I am growing another baby elephant. Bertie was 10,8 which is why they have been keeping an eye on me, so we wer always expecting this one to be a bit large, but today at 36+1 splodge was measuring 7lb 13oz... so at 38w, they think he is likely to be 9lb and LONG.. his legs are on the 95th centile, and his weight is off the scale...I am so glad that he is coming out at 38w. They checked all the blood flow too and from the placenta and heart and it all looks ok.
The other thing is that the other day when I have my morning of panic about him scrabbling around like a mad thing, it was because he was turning! He is now head down, which apparently is good as it makes a c section easier.

The only rubbish thing was that the sonographer called what happened to Bertie a "failed delivery" as if I don;t feel enough of a failure as it is..

Love to all,
rx

woollyjo · 23/04/2010 13:51

Oh Mrs what is it with sonographers? even before we lost Niamh I had a whole host of insensitive and personal remarks, these late scans have been better but the early ones..... I think the "you look worried" at the 10wk scan when even I could see the notes on the computer screen about Niamh and the bleed I'd had at 7 weeks with this one!

Congratulations for growing such a big'un!

Nearly there!

Onebaby I hate decorating with a vengence but as dh does all the structural stuff I have to do my bit (I did have to teach him how to lay bricks when we built our garage as I wasn't getting very far as I was still bf dd1 at the time!).

OP posts:
Whelk · 28/04/2010 12:53

Just popping on to wish you all the best Woollyjo and all the others on this thread. I'm thinking of you.
(You helped me on another thread Woolyjo- Im not a mad random person. Honest!)

woollyjo · 28/04/2010 22:35

How are you doing Mrs? on countdown now .... come and rant if you need to, really looking forwards to hearing baby is here safe and well.

I had a complete panic over reduced feotal movements on Monday and ended up ducking out of work to get monitored - I wasn't going mad and she was quite sluggish but it all checked out fine but it did bring home how close to the edge dh and I are.

Are you in your new home onebaby

How's everyone else? any news?

OP posts:
mrsrvc · 29/04/2010 08:34

Hi There,

Thanks for asking after me. I am on melt down a bit tbh. The anxiety has started to get overwhelming. I know that Bertie was fine inside me until labour, but I am really starting to panic about something happening to this little one before next friday. I just want him out NOW!...
DH is also not doing too well. Really busy at work which is making us both feel really isolated. Its also hard dealing with what seems to be the general consensus that everything will all be ok when we have this baby.
Bertie is never coming back, so it will never be ok...

Sorry to be on such a moan, I am just struggling to keep my head above water. Off to counselling in a bit, so hopefully that will help!

Hope you are all doing better than I am.
Woolly, I'm sorry that you had a scare. I would describe this PAL as being like walking a very long tightrope.
Constantly being aware how close you are to falling.

Onebaby - hope the move has gone smoothly.

woollyjo · 29/04/2010 11:27

I completely understand MRS I am absolutely terrified of going into spontaneous labour before my induction date, I'd winkle this one out with a spoon if it meant I could have her safe in my arms now!

Moan away .... hope the counselling helps.

Woollyjo - don't know why but I've just been thinking about you and Niamh and the new baby and I thought I'd come and find you just to wish you and all these other ladies well.

TrishF · 01/05/2010 02:32

I don't know how you've all got through over 30 weeks of pregnancy after what you have been through. You are my inspiration at the moment.

Had my 12 week scan today so I'm still at the beg of what I hope will be a long journey. It's felt so hard just to get here. Scan was fine so I stupidly got my hopes up which I'm kicking myself for now, then my bloods came back putting me in high risk for downs baby. So had CVS yesterday late afternoon. The wait begins now. Feeling very weepy and a bit 'invaded' - this poor baby had 5 long scans yesterday so I'm feeling very protective of it after all that.

Should get results by Friday next week. Am still therefore in hibernation til then. I don't want people to know but I'm huge so it's obvious. Apparently everyone at work has guessed.

Not sure where I'm going with this! Just needed to offload a bit.

Really willing you ladies along for you final few weeks though. Please keep us up to date.

Trish

woollyjo · 01/05/2010 14:02

Oh Trish - hope the results are reassuring, you clearly didn't need this xx

Hey gang - I'm back - house move is complete - I'm exhausted, there's stuff everywhere, it's chaos etc but we're in finally!

Hope everyone is alright - special big hugs for Mrs, Woolly & Trish - a tough time for all but I really hope everything works out well - I've got everything X'd for all of us!

Had my 32 week scan on Friday then another one with my consultant on Weds - all looking good so far, got placenta praevia (however you spell it!) so I would've needed a C-sec anyway - my lovely consultant's going to do my section so I'm very happy about that, it couldn't have worked out better for me.
33 weeks - can't believe I've got this far.

My lovely parents are here putting up blinds, treating us to a new washing machine etc - apart from all the stress of the move I'm feeling quite lucky - can't wait to get sorted here & start nesting!

Hope everyone has a peaceful weekend, take care all xx
