Hi folks,

Anyone gone private for an early scan? you can't get an early reassurance scan in my area but there is a company - healthcarenow ltd in Edinburgh - that offer early scans from 7-11 weeks for £55.

Anyone been for something similar or know of another route?

I am also having HcG levels done next week but I would like the reassurance of an early scan since I m/c at 8.5 weeks (discovered at 11wks) last time.

just don't look at the clock( she says sitting at home!! )
I have thought about taking lessons - just too embarrassed to actually do it ,silly,I know.should probably do it now so I can take the little one swimming later on.
BTW- went to the midwife and she was'nt evil , but she's not my midwife either , apparently mine is doing a back shift so would'nt be in till later -so still don't know what she's like .
also told I have to have a Glucose Tolerance Test done because I have a sibling with Diabetes
It's horrible I have to fast for something like 14 hours in total , Not Pleased!! I know it's just going to make me throw up as soon as my blood sugar drops so not looking forward to Friday

geordiemacminx · 21/11/2006 15:54

The classes are for adults only so at least you would all be in the same boat.. or pool

Yes, not looking at the clock would be a good idea... still doesnt stop me being so bored!!!

Boo Hiss at your diabetes test - have you got to go to Wishaw? I've got my 20 week scan 2 weeks on Thursday, so really looking forward to that, as we'll get to find out the flavour.

Vio · 21/11/2006 22:11

weeonion · 21/11/2006 22:29

trixymalixy · 22/11/2006 10:12

Hi guys,

have been meaning to say hello for a while, but my boss has been at his desk loads annoyingly so haven't been able to sneak onto MN as much.

The house is going OK, we have ceilings now and the walls in our bedroom have been prepared so my Mum is painting it today for us, bless her.

The nursery should be ready for painting at the end of this week hopefully.

We've run out of money for getting the hall plastered though so it might have to stay as plasterboard sheets until we can scrape some more cash together. The main thing is that the bedrooms are going to be finished soon though.

Sorry I missed the meet up, sounds like you all got on well.

WO-can't believe your aunt found a pram for you - how lucky is that!! I'm not feeling Xmassy yet, too busy thinking about DIY. Plus nobody'll be getting any presents from us, as we have no money. Which is just as well as my feet are killing me, so don't fancy having a walk round the shops!

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 10:44

Pleased the house is taking shape... you must be freezing at the moment with all the bad weather!!!

Starting to get into the xmas mood although having quite a low key one this year, in preparation for a crazy one next year!!! Still havent decided what we are doing yet, all kinda depends on whether step-kids are speaking to us by then. Its getting a bit stressful though as I want to make arrangements but cant really until we know whats going on...

Was going to see if anyone fancied going out in Glasgow in Decemeber.. obviuosly it wont be tequila slammers and pole dancing but thought a nice meal and a couple of non alcholic drinks would be nice.. Maybe a friday or Saturday? Just a thought.

weeonion · 22/11/2006 13:45

GMM - love the idea of a prexmas meet up for drinks/ food / chat. when are people free? i am working the next 2 weekends but a mid-week thing is ok?
xoxoxoxoxoxoox

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 13:56

You are working far too much - you need to take it easy babes!!!! Would a friday night suit anyone? 9th Dec?

Anjo1 · 22/11/2006 14:03

Afternoon all !

No other committments for December at the moment so whatever works for all those interested .

weeonion · 22/11/2006 14:12

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 14:19

I actually meant friday 8th... its not just you that got divvy disease WO. Friday works great for me. Anjo, I can either pick you up or we can get the train together?

Anyone got any preferences for food? Italian? Pub food? Mexican/Spanish? Have to admit that I'm not too keen on chinese/indian at the moment but will manage just fine if thats what everyone else wants!!!

Anjo1 · 22/11/2006 14:31

the 8th is fine by me too
GMM- thank you for offering to pick me up that would be lovely,up to you really , see how you feel on the day.If you don't fancy taking the car we'll just hop on the train , just as convenient really

Anjo1 · 22/11/2006 14:41

foodwise, Tony's on Renfield street , across from the old Odeon cinema is lovely for Italian
and La Tasca also on Renfield street is good for Spanish tapas -any thoughts ?
WO-You're Vegan aren't you ? what would be good for you ?

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 14:44

I was going to suggest ta tasca too or another spanish type place called cafe andaluz which is just along from George Square?

WO Vegan??? Was not aware of this!!

8th it is then.

weeonion · 22/11/2006 19:57

hey folks - i am cool with anywhere. the vegan control has slipped while pg - calcium and all that. grand with italian or spanish (or anything else for that matter!)

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 20:10

I had no idea you were vegan... but you eat steak right?? Everyone eats steak? Kidding!!

Thats pretty impressive - not surprised you slipped a little must be very hard.. especially when you feel sick!!!

I'm upstairs now.. the football is on and I find it impossible to keep quiet so end up in trouble he he he

weeonion · 22/11/2006 21:45

no steak but i have to admit to fantasies about roast chicken............................

sitting doing work - typing up reports and greeting at young at heart. oh lordy - show me an old amn and i am away in floods of tears..

Vio · 23/11/2006 10:53

Hi Everyone! going to Edinburgh today cos mother in law with me this week so have to show her around.

Not feeling too happy stimes cos got a smaller car now but still think i am not very good at driving... still cannot park probably.

Pls count me in as well ! I am free anytime except 6DEC (Scan appointment)...spanish or italian will both be good.

geordiemacminx · 23/11/2006 10:56

Rightyo girlies I will try and book la tasca, failing that the other tapas place. Hopefully we will be able to get a table as there will be lots of xmas do's going on. 7.30 ok for everyone?

geordiemacminx · 23/11/2006 11:02

I HATE XMAS... La tasca will only take bookings for 6 or more.. otherwise you just have to turn up, the other one is a set menu, requiring a deposit, service charge blah blah stick it up your arse!!! Will give it some thought...

weeonion · 23/11/2006 11:47

hmmmmmmmmmmmm - here is some ideas

pancho villas (mexican)
some of the ones in the fruitmarket / cheesemarket

would it be easier if we made it earlier?? not so hard to book?

weeonion · 23/11/2006 12:53

sarti is popular italian, butu bet the booking is the same. will there be 4 of us - teh same as borders? i have posted asking liath if she is able to jin us. what about all the others on the other scottish thread - trixy, ja9 etc? wonder if we could get it up to 6?

other option might be somewhere like a hotel? millenium on the square but i am not sure what the food is like??
hope this comes off- want to have a chance to wear a bit of sparkle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

geordiemacminx · 23/11/2006 13:17

Alternatively we can book for 6 and if there is only 4 of us I'm sure they wont turn us away.. as we are all with child!!!!

geordiemacminx · 23/11/2006 13:24

Spoken to them, only sittings are 6.30 or 9.30, again set menu, rubbish food, deposit required blah blah blah.. will continue looking...
