Private ultrasound scans - Scotland

Hi folks,

Anyone gone private for an early scan? you can't get an early reassurance scan in my area but there is a company - healthcarenow ltd in Edinburgh - that offer early scans from 7-11 weeks for £55.

Anyone been for something similar or know of another route?

I am also having HcG levels done next week but I would like the reassurance of an early scan since I m/c at 8.5 weeks (discovered at 11wks) last time.

Have a look on multimap.co.uk it is quite a good map site.

we're talking about new year away - last year we went to amsterdam and it was the most magical time of my life. is it true we arent meant to fly after 27 weeks??

I have just checked the BA website - you can travel up to 36 weeks with them, but you have to have a medical certificate from your doctor saying you are fit to fly after 28 weeks so plenty time left for all of us!!!

Wwe both would like a really special holiday before the little one, but am a little limited with long flights, injections and malaria tablets so Dubai is looking good at the moment, be nice to have a tan on a bump....

Dubai!! Talking about holidays....my hushand & I have also been thinking about going to Spain in Dec cos hes been saying he needs a break also thinking its good to enjoy ourselves before baby arrives!!

u've really got me thinking about a holiday. just treated dp to yummy meal out in town so while he is mellow with a couple of whiskeys - now might be the time to ask??? cheapish but guaranteed sun. last time we had a wintr break - tunisia ended up battered with gales so we hid in the hotel for 10days with only a ping pong table to amuse 200 guests...

Thats ok then, it cant be very far away from your house? Its a really nice place and never really gets that busy - and its open til 10 during the week which is great if you need something last minute

vio- poor u being bored. i hate days liek that when cabin fever strikes!

i was in glasgow all afternoon for meetings but by pure chance got chatting to a woman in tesco with a pram. turns out she had her LO 3 weeks ago at the princess royal. she said it was an ok place - they dont go out of their way for us as a patient but nor do they be actively mean. she said you really are left to yr own devices but they dont rush to get you out of the ward after the babay is born. good to know as i havnt really heard too much from people who have had their baby there.

It is really horrible out tonight!!

It would be the day the builders start ripping out all the ceilings upstairs. The house is freezing as the ceilings are open all the way up to the roof.

I know it'll be worth it in the end as if we don't do it before the baby comes it won't get done for a couple of years. I'm just feeling totally knackered as they only told us on friday they could start today so we had the weekend to clear the whole top floor of the house!!

Could really do with some of that hot chocolate weeonion!!

I put this in before but I got missed off again... I seem to be the oldest here... and I'll be 37 by the time the LO arrives (unless it's very early).

how are we shaping up for the glasgo fort meet up - i think there is 4 of us to date??? have just noticed - there is loads of first timers on this thread!

vio - i only got the results of my blood screens (hep, hiv syphilis etc) on saturday. that was 3.5 weeks so dont panic!
