My first symptom with my first was being unbelievably hot all of a sudden. We weren't trying and I was in work one morning - middle of November, stripped down to just my vest top and trousers, fanning myself outside the office. One of the cleaners walked past, looked me up and down and said 'you're pregnant'. Stopped off at chemist on way home as was so freaked out and sure enough I was!!!

The other symptom was ridiculous tearfulness. I sobbed (and I mean sobbed) in Toby Carvery as my DH told me I had too much gravy on my plate

With DD it just felt like my period was coming - infact I thought it had started but it turned out to be implantation bleeding.

I also had that big blue vein and really sensitive boobs...

TishTosh21 · 04/10/2009 11:06

Hi peppa,
Im glad you said being hot was a symptom as ive been feeling v hot recently, i know its not exactly freezing outside atm but even when its not v hot outside i feel like im in the sahara desert with a woolly jumper on.

Aw bless you for sobbing at the gravy! I just feel like my period is coming, i havent had any spotting but i keep getting period pains every now and then and quite sore boobs, havent had any sort of bleeding since coming off the pill so it could be preg or period, just need to wait a few more days til i can test.

Tishtosh - thats exactly how a lot of women feel though. It really does feel like you are starting your period. Cramps are normal - egg embedding. A lot of similar hormones I would imagine. Thats why with DD when I had implantation bleeding (which was like the start of a period - put tampon in and everything) I resigned myself to not having conceived.

I really remember the heat though. The other thing both times was feeling really thirsty.

Strangely with my DS everything went greasy - my hair and my skin. With DD everything went dry. Very odd!

Fingers crossed for you

TishTosh21 · 04/10/2009 19:46

Your posts are def keeping me sane peppa!
Im feeling quite thirsty atm, maybe because i also feel so hot!

Thats funny about diff symptoms for your DS and DD. Maybe thats how you can tell whether your having a boy or girl!

Will keep posting on here with updates, will be testing Tues morn so hope for the best

Wednesday. the most important thing is that I'm so worried, i saw a red stain on my knickers...Do u think it's one of the symptoms of the period?!

rouquine · 05/10/2009 18:45

I'm also becoming very emotional, i mean very small ridiculous things would make me cry

rouquine · 05/10/2009 18:51

the funny thing is that i m peeing frequently. Is this happening to you ?

TishTosh21 · 05/10/2009 19:15

Hi rouquine,

Well done about the job. My first day was really good, think im going to like it there.
Well if it was spotting its a good thing, and being emotional as ive heard from many people that its a symptom. Im peeing alot too but i cant tell if its more than usual cos ive always had to go alot. Im testing 2mo morn so will let you know how that goes.

Good luck for Wed. I feel like i have PMT getting moody for no reason, dont know whats going on really!

When are you going to test??

Sorry to hear that tishtosh21 but tbh you're lucky to have your periods resumed so quickly as I know women who have taken months for their cyles to sort out. it'll happen next month x

peppapighastakenovermylife · 08/10/2009 17:12

Sorry to hear that

If its any consolation, when I came off the pill after 6 years this happened for my first period...I didnt have the second one for a long time as I got pregnant

texasholdem · 08/10/2009 17:17

tishtosh - just been reading this thread. You must be feeling a bit down since getting your period but try to look on the positive side, like you said, you now know what day your going to be due each month plus your period came back quite quickly and now you know your body is doing what is it supposed to in order for you to conceive. Also because your period has came you'll be able to work out when you are ovulating so can ttc at the best time. I think there is an ovulation calander on here that is quite helpful.

Best of luck and hope you get a positive result soon

rouquine - congrats, hope the pregnancy goes well!

texasholdem · 08/10/2009 17:24

tishtosh - forgot to say as well, with DD I didn't really start getting any pregnancy symptoms, like sickness, headaches (which I got quite a lot of), sore boobs etc until after I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks. Probably started about 7/8 weeks iirc. So if you don't get any symptoms early on, you never know, they could just be a bit late kicking in!

rouquine · 08/10/2009 17:40

oh Dear, sorry to hear that, but do not get upset believe me it could b better luck next time. at least now u have your period, so you're pretty sure abt ur ovulation days.I'm certain that you'll b pregnant next month!
last month, I really wanted to b pregnant and was totally desperate when my period came, but look where I am today
Never regret anything it may be for the better,
best of luck for you.
thank you Texa!
till now everything's ok except that i'm having a bad backache accompanied by fatigue that's leaving me sleepy all the time!

first1 · 08/10/2009 17:47

how far along are you then rouquine? I'm 8+3 and definitely sympathise with the sleepiness! I've been fast asleep by 8.30pm every night for the past few weeks!

TishTosh21 · 08/10/2009 18:29

Hi everyone who has posted me comments. Thanks so much for them they have really helped
Im trying to be more positive now, it was just the initial shock and sadness of it but im getting over it now and looking to the future.

I think next month will be it!

Hope all is well with you rouquine

bubblesincambridge · 09/10/2009 11:57

Mine started the day after, literally. Suddenly I couldn't see properly through my contact lenses.

jphc · 09/10/2009 12:46

Hi to everyone on Mumsnet

I was due my AF on tues, from that day I have felt extremely tired and emotional. Had what I thought were like period like cramps since wed but no sign of AF! This is not a planned pregnancy, I have a DD 15 and a DS 12, my DH and I always use protection!

Can you give me any words of wisdom Mumsnetters?

TishTosh21 · 09/10/2009 13:22

Take a test NOW jphc!! thats the only way your going to know for sure
